This Itechguide explains MS Office (Microsoft Office).

What is MS Office?

MS Office (Microsoft Office) is a suite of productivity software tools that help you get things done on your PC, Mac, Tablet and Smartphone.

When Microsoft Office was first launched, it was sold as a one-time purchase product. Meaning, you purchased the tool at a fixed one-off cost. However, in 2011, it was repackaged as part of Office 365 products.

Office 365 is a hosted, subscription-based product. This means that instead of paying for the product for a fixed one-time cost, you pay a monthly or annual subscription fee. Having said that, MS Office still has an option to purchased the product at a one-off fixed cost – as Office 2019.

What is MS Office?
One benefit of 365 (subscription) over 2019 (one-time purchase) is that with 365, you receive all new updates when they are released. However, with 2019, you do not receive automatic updates for new features.
