Thus, the following sub-section will teach you how to install the plugin on WordPress. I will also provide steps to use the plugin to add a QR code to your WordPress site.

Step 1: Install the Shortcodes Ultimate Plugin

You won’t find the Insert shortcode button without installing and activating the Shortcodes Ultimate plugin.

  1. After that, you can customize a QR code to your taste, such as adding a title and changing the color and size. However, the Data input box is where you should include the URL you want the QR code to direct users to.

  1. When you’ve done all that, click the Insert shortcode button at the bottom of the page. Hence, the QR code should appear on your site’s front end (live website) when the page/post is published or previewed – see the second screenshot.

Another free plugin you can use to add a QR code to your WordPress site is the Kaya QR Code Generator plugin. Similar to the Shortcodes Ultimate plugin, this plugin allows you to add a QR code through a shortcode.

Step 1: Install the Kaya QR Code Generator Plugin

  1. Login to your WordPress site’s backend dashboard as an administrator. Next, hover your mouse on Plugins on the left pane of the dashboard, then select Add New from the displayed options.
