About this tool
A Unix timestamp counts time since 1 January 1970 00:00:00 UTC — the way most databases, APIs and log files store moments. Paste one and see it as a UTC date, in your own time zone and as a relative time ("3 days ago").
The unit is detected from the number's length: 10 digits is seconds, 13 is milliseconds (JavaScript's Date.now()), 16 is microseconds and 19 is nanoseconds, as used by Go and many tracing systems. Negative values (dates before 1970) work too.
To go the other way, type a date as YYYY-MM-DD with an optional time (read as UTC), or any ISO 8601 date with an offset such as +05:30, and get the timestamp in seconds and milliseconds. The live clock at the top shows the current Unix time.
