This Itechguide teaches you how to delete Google maps history. The guide covers steps to delete Google maps history from a PC, iPhone or Android.

Option 1: Delete Google Maps History from Android or iPhone

You can delete all your maps history or specific history data. This section provides steps for both options. It also covers steps to configure Google Maps to delete the history automatically.

Method 1: Delete All History Data (Android or iPhone)

• Open the Google Maps App on your Android device or iPhone. Then login with your Google Account.

• At the top left of the App, tap the menu (3 lines). The Apps menu options will be displayed.

• Scroll down towards the bottom of the displayed menu options and tap Settings.

• Scroll down the Maps Settings and tap Maps history.

• Then, on the top right of Maps history, tap the menu icon (3 dots). From the displayed options, tap Delete activity by. Delete Maps Activity options will be displayed.

• Google Maps will open the option to delete the activity from the last hour. To display other delete options, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap Cancel.

• Then, from Delete Maps Activity options, tap Always.

• Finally, scroll down the confirmation screen and tap Delete.

Method 2: Delete a Specific History Data

• Go through the steps to delete all maps history until you get to the Maps Activity screen.

• Then scroll down to the Maps history you want to delete. To delete all the activities for the period (date), tap the delete icon (option 1 in the image below) beside the period.
• You could also delete a particular activity within the date. To do this, tap the history options menu (option 2) beside the activity, then tap Delete.
• Whichever option you use, a delete confirmation pop up will be displayed.

• Finally, to delete the specific Maps history data, at the bottom right of the delete confirmation screen, tap Delete.

Method 3: Delete Google Maps History Automatically

• Go through the steps to delete all maps history until you get to the Maps Activity screen. Then, scroll down and tap Choose to delete automatically.

• On the Choose how long to keep your web & app activity data screen, scroll down and select Keep for 18 months or Keep for 3 months. Then, at the bottom right of the screen, tap Next.

• Finally, at the bottom right of the confirmation screen, tap Confirm.

Option 2: Delete Google Maps History from a PC (Google.com/mapss

Method 1: Delete All History Data (from a PC)

• Open Google.com/maps from a browser on your PC. Then login with your Google Account.

• At the top left of Google Maps, click the menu icon (3 lines). The Maps menu options will be displayed.

• Scroll down to the bottom of the menu and click Maps Activity.

• When Map Activity page opens, at the top right taps its menu. Then, from the displayed menu options, tap Delete activity by. Activity delete options will be displayed.

• On the Delete Maps Activity page, click All time.

• Finally, to delete ALL Google maps history from a browser on a PC, at the bottom right of the Delete confirmation page, click Delete.

Method 2: Delete a Specific History Data (from a PC)

• Follow the steps in How to Delete a Specific History Data (from a PC) until you get to Map Activity page.

• Then, scroll down to the activities listed by date.
• To delete all the activities in a specific date, click the delete icon beside the date.

• Alternatively, to delete a specific activity within the date, click the menu beside the activity. Then, from the menu options, click Delete.

• When you click Delete, Google Maps will request a confirmation. At the bottom right of the delete confirmation screen, tap Delete.

Method 3: Delete Google Maps History Automatically (from a PC)

• Follow the steps in How to Delete a Specific History Data (from a PC) until you get to Map Activity page.

• Then, scroll down and click Choose to delete automatically.

• Finally, select how long you want to keep your data before deleting them automatically and click Next.

• Then, at the confirmation page, click Confirm.
