However, the USS Enterprise crew members encounter a cosmic event that changes the course of history and the present. The crew consists of young promising crew members under the leadership of a daring Captain – Christopher Pike.

Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow
Coming 7th in my pick of the best sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime is “Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow”.
The movie centers around a fighter William Cage and a special force soldier. As an alien race hits the world and starts a war, with no combat experience, Cage finds himself on the battleground. After a few minutes into the battle, Cage was killed but he finds himself back alive moments before his death.
Subsequently, after experiencing deaths and finding himself alive at each time, Cage understands the battle is a loop in time. To escape the loop, he teams up with a special force soldier to achieve victory over the aliens.
“Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow” is a fine production. It features action, sci-fi, adventure, and war. You can watch the movie now on Amazon Prime.
Iron Man
“Iron Man” is no 6 in my pick of the best sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime.
The story-line is about a genius billionaire Tony stark as he heads out for a weapon presentation for the military. Unfortunately, he was attacked and held captive by a group of terrorists in a remote area.
While in captivity, barely alive with an injury to his heart, Tony finds a way to escape. As a result of his encounter, Tony stark develops an iron suit to protect himself and others from harm.
“Iron Man” is a fantastic sci-fi movie with a blend of action and adventure. It is available on Amazon Prime.
12 Monkeys
Coming 5th in my pick of the best sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime is “12 Monkeys”
The movie is set in the year 2035 when most of the population in the world has been wiped out by a deadly virus. Few of the people left on earth are forced to live underground because the virus is airborne.
To put an end to the virus outbreak, the government requires the help of a prisoner – James Cole. With the promise of freedom, Cole is required to travel back in time to stop the virus outbreak from ever happening.
“12 Monkeys” is a great combination of mystery, sci-fi, drama, and suspense. If you want a thrilling experience, you need to add this movie to your watch-list on Amazon Prime.
The Truman Show
Ranking at no 4 in my pick of the best sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime is “The Truman Show”.
The story of the movie revolves around an insurance salesman Truman. For more than 20 years, unknown to him, his whole life is actually a reality TV show. From the beautiful neighborhood to smooth lawns, the residents and Truman‘s wife were all part of the act for the TV show.
Subsequently, after noticing a very strange incident in his neighborhood, Truman begins to question everything in his life.

Interstellar
“Interstellar” ranks 3rd in my pick of the best sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime.
The story of the movie is about a time in the future when lives on earth face extinction due to natural disasters. To ensure the survival of the human race, a team of astronauts must travel through a wormhole.
Beyond the wormhole, far from our galaxy, research shows a planet that can accommodate human life. However, the climatic condition of the planet is beyond imagination.
“Interstellar” is a superb production with adventure, drama, and sci-fi. If you love space adventure, add this movie to your watch-list on Amazon Prime.
The Matrix
Taking the 2nd spot in my pick of the best sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime is “The Matrix”.
The movie tells the story of a computer hacker Neo who believes the world is a simulation run by machines. While in his home, he receives a message from the top hacker Morpheus who designated a terrorist by the government.
As a result, Neo finds himself wanted by the police. Along the line, Morpheus saves Neo and shows him the real world where machines are more powerful than humans. Few of the human race left are struggling and resisting the machines.
“The Matrix” features action, adventure, suspense, and sci-fi. It is arguably one of the best sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime you need to see.
Inception
Finally, at no 1 in my pick of the best sci-fi movies on Amazon Prime is “Inception”.
“Inception” is about a man Cobb and his team as they use top technology to steal top-secret from the minds of people while they are asleep. Being a wanted man, Cobb’s only wish is to go home to his children as a free man.
With this is in mind, he receives a job that can make his wish come true. However, the job comes with more danger than he could have ever imagined.
“Inception” is a remarkable production with a unique story. It features sci-fi, action, thriller, and adventure. You can watch it now on Amazon Prime.
