My Left Foot

The Fighter
“The Fighter” ranks 8th in my pick of the best movies on HBO.

Consequently, Micky tries to make a name for himself and step out from the shadow of his brother. In the process, Micky took an unexpected road to the spotlight while Dicky got himself into trouble.

Taking the 7th spot in my pick of the best movies on HBO is “A Star Is Born”.
The story-line of the movie is about a veteran musician Jackson Maine as he meets a struggling artist Ally. When Ally performs in a small club, Jackson discovers her and gave her a chance to become a star.
Subsequently, while touring together, Ally and Jackson fall in love with each other. However, as Ally‘s musical career grows, Jackson struggles to keep up with his own career and personal life.

Casino Royale
“Casino Royale” is no 6 in my pick of the best movies on HBO.
The movie is about a top-secret agent James Bond as he earns the 00 status and the license to kill. Consequently, James set out on his first mission in Casino Royale, Montenegro – the mission is to stop his target from winning a high-stake game of poker.
With help from his fellow agent, James Bond disguises himself to enter the poker game. However, to successfully carry out his mission, James will have to survive a series of dangerous encounters.

Alien (1979)
Ranking at no 5 in my pick of the best movies on HBO is “Alien (1979)”.
At a time in the future, while on their way back home, a commercial spaceship crew receives a distress call from the moon. After landing on the moon, they discover a colony of mysterious creatures.
Meanwhile, the ship’s computer later decodes the distress call to be a warning. Before the crew could understand the actual problem, they realize a strange entity has embarked their spaceship.

Fight Club
Taking the 4 spot my pick of the best movies on HBO is “Fight Club”.
In this movie, an unnamed narrator attends different support groups to relieve his insomnia and emotional problems. Subsequently, when the narrator meets Marla in the support group, his life seems less out of place.
However, when the narrator meets a soap-maker Tyler, he was introduced to an underground fight club. After a while, as the two men involve themselves in the fight club, the club grows to become a center of violence.

Apocalypse Now
At no 3 in my pick of the best movies on HBO is “Apocalypse Now”.
“Apocalypse Now” is set during the time of the Vietnam war. While the war is ongoing, a U.S army officer Willard who is serving in Vietnam receives a mission to take out a ruthless colonel.
However, while Willard was in the process of executing his mission, he uncovers a mystery about his target. Consequently, along the way, Willard experiences dangerous encounters.
“Apocalypse Now” is a great movie. It features war, drama, and mystery. If you want a thrilling experience, you need to see this movie. It is available on HBO Go and HBO Now.
Bohemian Rhapsody
Coming 2nd in my pick of the best movies on HBO is “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
The movie tells the story of a great British rock band Queen and their lead singer – Freddie Mercury. “Bohemian Rhapsody” features the moments that lead up to the Queen‘s prominent performance at the Live Aid in 1985.
Furthermore, the movie shows the rise of the band as they create classic songs with unique sounds. More importantly, the drama that occurs in the band and the challenges of Freddie Mercury.

La La Land
In conclusion, at no 1 in my pick of the best movies on HBO is “La La Land”.
The movie is about the love and drama between a pianist Sebastian Wilder and an aspiring actress Mia Dolan. While playing at a cocktail party, Sebastian meets Mia who was moved by the sound she hears.
Subsequently, Mia and Sebastian falls in love with each other and begin their relationship. However, while working toward their separate dreams, the couple had a fall out that ended their relationship.
