Our verdict on MaintainX
MaintainX is a cloud-based CMMS for maintenance managers, technicians, operators, and other frontline teams. It brings preventive and reactive maintenance, work orders, assets, procedures, parts, requests, reporting, and communications into web and mobile applications. QR and barcode scanning, offline mobile mode, and technician time and cost tracking make it relevant to teams managing maintenance work in the field. It is a fit for organizations that want mobile workflows alongside a connected maintenance system, rather than a tool limited to recording work orders.
The plan structure provides a way to start without a subscription, then add operational capabilities by tier. Basic is free and includes unlimited work orders, unlimited procedures, unlimited requester users, and real-time messaging. Essential starts at $20 per user per month with annual billing and adds unlimited repeating work orders, attached images, and preventive maintenance workflows. Premium starts at $65 per user per month, billed annually, and adds parts inventory, purchase order management, time and cost tracking, and open REST API access. Enterprise adds multi-site management, custom permissions, IoT sensor integrations, and advanced reporting. Requester accounts are free; paid-user licensing and feature availability vary by plan.
