In this Itechguide, Victor teaches you how to change mouse sensitivity on Windows 10. The guide covers steps for 2 methods to change mouse sensitivity on Windows 10.
Option 1: Change Mouse Sensitivity from Windows Settings
- Right-click the Windows 10 Start menu. Then, from the displayed options, click Settings.
- When the Windows Settings opens, click Devices.
- On the left pane of the Devices settings screen, click Mouse.
- Then, on the Mouse Settings screen, scroll down to the Related settings section and click Additional mouse options. This will open the mouse settings for your PC.
- On the Mouse Properties, click the Pointer Options tab.
- Finally, to change mouse sensitivity, move the Select a pointer speed slider.
To reduce the sensitivity of your mouse, move the slider towards Slow. Otherwise, to make the mouse more sensitive, move the slider towards Fast.
- When you finish adjusting the sensitivity of your mouse, to save your changes, on the bottom left of your Mouse Properties, click OK.
You can also adjust how fast your mouse responds to Double-click.
- To adjust how quickly your mouse responds to Double-click, click the Buttons tab.
- Then, on the Double-click speed section, move the Speed slider and click OK.
To make your mouse Double-click speed faster, move the slider towards Fast. Otherwise, to slow your mouse Double-click speed, move the slider towards Slow.
Option 2: Adjust Mouse Sensitivity from Control Panel
- Type control panel in the search box. Then, from the search results, click Control Panel.
- On the top right of Control Panel, type mouse in the search box and press enter. This will search for all Control Panel items related to mouse.
- On the search results, below Mouse, click Change the mouse pointer display or speed. The mouse properties for your device will open.
- On the Mouse Properties, click the Pointer Options tab.
- Finally, to change mouse sensitivity on Windows 10 from control panel, move the Select a pointer speed slider to your preferred sensitivity level and click OK.
To make your mouse more sensitive, move the slider towards Fast – to make it lesss sensitive, move it towards Slow.
You may also adjust the sensitivity of your mouse Double-click
- To adjust the Double-click sensitivity of your mouse, click the Buttons tab.
- Finally, to adjust the Double-click sensitivity of your mouse, on the Double-click speed section, move the Speed slider.
To make your Double-click respond faster, move the slider towards Fast. Otherwise, to reduce the response of your mouse Double-click, move the slider towards Slow.
- To save your changes, click OK.
