Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallWindows 10 support ended on October 14, 2025. Your PC will still work, but it no longer receives routine Windows security updates, feature updates, or technical support. Check whether your computer can upgrade to Windows 11; if it cannot, consider a replacement PC or eligible consumer Extended Security Updates (ESU) as a temporary bridge.
What Windows 10’s end of support means
Microsoft’s support end date applies to Windows 10 version 22H2 and the listed Enterprise LTSB editions. After October 14, 2025, those installations no longer receive ordinary Windows software and feature updates, security fixes, or technical support from Microsoft. The computer does not stop working, but missing operating-system security fixes can increase exposure to security risks. Antivirus software does not replace those Windows fixes.
Check whether your PC can upgrade to Windows 11
Use Microsoft’s Windows 11 system requirements page and run PC Health Check before deciding. You can also check Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update; Windows Update may offer the upgrade on eligible devices. A device must be running Windows 10 version 2004 or later for the stated Windows Update upgrade path.
Microsoft’s minimum requirements include:
- A supported 1 GHz or faster processor with at least two cores
- 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage
- UEFI firmware with Secure Boot capability and TPM 2.0
- DirectX 12-compatible graphics with a WDDM 2.0 driver
- A display larger than 9 inches with at least 720p resolution
Windows 11 Home and personal-use Pro also require an internet connection and Microsoft account during initial setup. Processor support matters: the CPU must appear on Microsoft’s approved list and is not ordinarily upgradeable, so meeting the memory and storage minimums alone does not establish compatibility.

Choose among upgrading, replacing, or ESU
| Option | Best fit | What it provides |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade this PC | PC Health Check or Windows Update confirms eligibility | Windows 11 on the existing computer through Microsoft’s available upgrade path |
| Replace the PC | The current computer is ineligible, or a new device better fits your needs | A Windows 11 device; choose based on workload and hardware needs rather than an unverified model recommendation |
| Enroll in consumer ESU | You need more time and your device and region qualify | A temporary set of defined security updates, not full Windows support or feature updates |
Compare these paths based on Windows 11 eligibility, how long you need the computer, its workload, and whether ESU is available to you. Microsoft’s reviewed information does not establish a universal replacement-PC cost or a current, universal ESU enrollment cost.
What to know before relying on ESU
Microsoft describes Extended Security Updates as critical and important security updates for enrolled PCs after general support ends. ESU does not restore feature updates or technical support. Enrollment terms and eligibility may depend on region and user or device type.

Microsoft’s current English support information and Windows end-of-support pages give conflicting end dates for consumer ESU: October 12, 2027, and October 13, 2026, respectively. The discrepancy is not resolved in those pages, so check the live enrollment information for your region rather than relying on either date or assuming a universal term.
For Windows 10 version 22H2, Microsoft’s September 8, 2026 licensing-preparation update says that installing the preparation package alone does not enroll a PC or provide updates. It describes a prerequisite security update released on or after October 14, 2025, followed by the preparation package and completion of enrollment. Consumer enrollment may instead guide users through Settings; follow the instructions Microsoft currently presents for your device.

Microsoft 365 and Office are separate from Windows support
Microsoft says Microsoft 365 Apps continue to run on Windows 10 and that security updates for those apps will continue through October 10, 2028. That is app servicing, not continued support or security updates for Windows itself. Office 2016 and Office 2019 support has ended; Office 2021 and Office 2024 continue to run on Windows 10, but Windows 10 is not a supported Windows configuration for them.
