Apple HomeView will not be sold in the European Union at launch because Apple says Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU. Apple has not announced an EU release date. Instead, it says it is working with the EU to find a path forward, so any specific European launch forecast would be speculation.

Why HomeView is unavailable in the EU

Apple’s explanation is unusually direct: “Apple HomeView is not available for sale in the European Union, as Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU.” HomeView is designed around Apple Intelligence and Siri AI for voice control, hands-free automations and other interactions. Because that Siri AI capability is not currently available in EU versions of iOS, Apple is excluding the EU from the product’s initial sales regions.

Apple also says it is “working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward.” The company has not identified a specific regulatory requirement, technical workaround or compliance deadline in its announcement. That means the public explanation is limited to Siri AI’s EU availability, rather than a confirmed account of which EU rule or approval is responsible.

When will HomeView launch in Europe?

There is no announced EU release date. Apple’s statement about working with the EU does not constitute a launch commitment or timetable. HomeView therefore remains unavailable for sale throughout the EU until Apple announces both a supported Siri AI experience and a sales plan for European countries.

#1 Best Overall

Importing a unit from another country would not change the software situation. The product’s Siri AI functions, language availability, setup requirements, warranty coverage and regional services may still depend on the buyer’s country and account settings. Apple has not confirmed that an imported HomeView will receive full EU functionality.

Where HomeView launches first

Apple opened preorders on 13 October 2026 in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Singapore preorders begin on 15 October 2026. In South Africa, Apple directs customers to Apple Authorized Resellers rather than specifying an Apple online-store preorder.

Both the standard HomeView and the wall-mounted model are scheduled to become available in those supported markets on 13 November 2026.

What Apple HomeView is

HomeView is a physical smart-home and entertainment display, not merely a software feature. It has a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and combines media, communication and home controls in a single device. Apple says it supports Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV, compatible third-party audio and video apps, FaceTime calls, home monitoring and voice-controlled automations.

Some services require subscriptions, while app and feature availability can vary by region and language. HomeView also requires a compatible iPhone or iPad running the latest software for setup and multiuser support. Buyers should therefore check device compatibility before ordering, particularly when considering an imported unit.

HomeView and HomeView Wall Mounted

Apple announced two hardware forms: the standard HomeView and HomeView Wall Mounted. Both start at $299 in the United States. The wall-mounted version is intended for fixed installation and works with three purpose-built Schneider Home mounts.

USB-C Wall Connector $59.95 Announced accessory
AC Wired mount $79.95 Announced accessory
PoE Wired mount $129.95 Planned for early 2027

The mount choice affects installation and power delivery. The USB-C option is the simplest approach where a suitable power outlet and cable route are available. The AC Wired mount is designed for a more permanent electrical installation. The PoE Wired mount is not expected until early 2027, so it is not an option for the initial wall-mounted launch.

Siri AI languages and regional limits

At launch, Siri AI on HomeView is available in English in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom. Apple says Canadian French support will arrive later through a free software update. This language list does not include EU countries, reinforcing that the EU exclusion affects the underlying Siri AI experience rather than only retail distribution.

Regional differences can also affect media apps, subscriptions, smart-home integrations and individual features. A HomeView purchased in a supported country should not be assumed to offer identical services after being moved elsewhere.

What EU buyers should do now

  1. Wait for Apple to publish an EU sales announcement before treating any launch rumor as confirmed.
  2. Check whether Siri AI has become available on the relevant EU version of iOS; Apple identifies that availability as the condition currently preventing HomeView sales.
  3. Do not calculate the purchase solely from the $299 U.S. price. Imported units may involve taxes, shipping, warranty restrictions, regional software limits and a different power setup.
  4. If considering HomeView Wall Mounted, verify the mount, wiring method and local installation requirements before buying the display.
  5. Confirm that the intended iPhone or iPad can run the latest software required for setup and multiuser support.

What remains unknown

  • Apple has not given an EU launch date.
  • Apple has not described a specific EU regulatory mechanism or the changes needed to enable Siri AI there.
  • Apple has not confirmed whether an imported HomeView will receive full functionality in the EU.
  • Apple has not published EU pricing, taxes, warranty terms or regional accessory availability.
