Our verdict on InsForge
InsForge brings a Postgres database together with generated typed REST and SDK endpoints, authentication, object storage, realtime updates and Deno-powered TypeScript edge functions. It is aimed at developers building applications with AI coding agents, and its CLI, SDKs, REST APIs and agent-oriented workflows provide ways to manage the backend. Teams that want a relational database with functions and backend services in one platform may find its scope useful; projects needing a different database model should look elsewhere.
The free plan covers 50,000 monthly active users, 500 MB of database size, 5 GB of bandwidth, 1 GB of file storage, 100,000 edge function calls and 600 minutes of site build time. Pro costs $25 month-to-month or $240 billed yearly. The plan includes InsForge Compute credits, while custom compute and the AI Model Gateway are billed by usage, so teams should account for costs beyond the subscription. Enterprise has custom pricing and adds options including SSO, unlimited projects and dedicated technical support.
The backend spans password and passwordless authentication, OAuth and OIDC providers, S3-compatible storage with signed URLs, database-triggered or scheduled edge functions, migrations, isolated database branches and pgvector-based vector search. Row-level security applies across database, storage and realtime access. Integrations focus on AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cline and Windsurf. Community and documentation are the listed support channels. InsForge is a fit for teams seeking Postgres-centered backend services and agent-oriented workflows; teams that need predictable compute costs or a support channel beyond community and docs may prefer another option.
