About this tool
Type an address in CIDR form — 192.168.1.130/26 — or an address plus a dotted subnet mask such as 255.255.255.192, and the calculator lists everything you need to plan a network or write a firewall rule: the network and broadcast addresses, the first and last usable host, the number of usable hosts and total addresses, the subnet mask, the wildcard mask used by Cisco ACLs and OSPF, and the mask in binary.
It also tells you what kind of address it is: private (the RFC 1918 ranges 10/8, 172.16/12 and 192.168/16), carrier-grade NAT (100.64/10), loopback, link-local or public, plus the historical class. Point-to-point /31 links are handled as RFC 3021 defines them (two usable addresses) and a /32 is a single host.
The maths runs in your browser on plain 32-bit integers, so nothing you type — internal addressing included — leaves your machine.
