About this tool
A UUID (also called a GUID) is a 128-bit identifier that is, for practical purposes, unique without any central registry — handy for database keys, file names, request IDs and test fixtures. This tool creates version 4 (random) UUIDs using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator.
Generate up to 500 at once and pick the format your code expects: lowercase or uppercase, with or without hyphens, or wrapped in {braces} as Windows and .NET often show them.
The validator accepts any common spelling (braces, urn:uuid: prefix, no hyphens) and tells you which UUID version it is — 4 for random, 1 for time-based, 7 for the newer time-ordered format.
