Our verdict on Dropbox Sign
Dropbox Sign is a cloud-based electronic signature service for individuals, small teams, and larger organizations. It supports document uploads, signer fields, signature requests, progress tracking, reminders, reusable templates, audit trails, bulk sending, and sequential signer ordering. It is designed for signing workflows rather than general-purpose file storage, so it fits businesses that need to collect and manage signatures more than users seeking a cloud drive.
The freemium structure provides a free plan with up to three signature requests per month and a 30-day free trial. Essentials costs $15 per month or $180 per year for an individual plan with unlimited signature requests. Standard costs $25 per user per month or $420 per year for a small team plan with unlimited signature requests. Premium is positioned as a large team plan. The paid tiers make more sense for recurring signing workflows, while the free option suits occasional requests.
Dropbox Sign works across the web, iOS, Android, and API environments. Integrations include Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Salesforce, and HubSpot, while embedded signing and requesting support API-based workflows. Non-editable audit trails with timestamps, signer data validation, reminders, and SMS authentication add control around the signing process. Choose Dropbox Sign when electronic signatures, templates, authentication, and workflow integrations are the priority. Choose a dedicated cloud storage service instead when file storage and document organization are the main requirements.
