Our verdict on ConnectWise ScreenConnect
ConnectWise ScreenConnect is remote support and remote access software for IT teams, managed service providers, and internal support departments. Technicians can view and control computers and mobile devices, support attended sessions, maintain unattended endpoints, transfer files, run commands, use shared toolboxes, and record sessions. It supports cloud and on-premises deployment across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and major web browsers, with mobile technician applications and ConnectWise PSA integration. A 14-day trial is available, but there is no free plan.
The published plans use annual billing views. One starts at $30 per license per month and includes one license, one simultaneous session, 10 unattended access agents, file transfer, and mobile technician support. Standard costs $45 per concurrent technician per month and adds up to three sessions per technician, unlimited unattended access agents, session recording, remote command line, and iOS and Android mobile guest clients. Premium costs $55 per concurrent technician per month and raises capacity to 10 sessions per technician while adding video auditing, a remote diagnostics toolkit, and remote camera sharing. Enterprise uses custom enterprise licensing, with multi-year contract options, premium support and escalation, and enterprise deployment options.
ScreenConnect’s main strength is breadth: remote control, unattended access, multi-monitor support, Wake-on-LAN, role-based permissions, PowerShell access, recording, video auditing, and mobile technician workflows cover varied support operations. Self-hosted deployment and ConnectWise PSA integration also suit organizations already aligned with that ecosystem. The tier structure matters, however: the entry plan is constrained, while higher session capacity and deeper auditing require paid upgrades. Teams needing a focused remote-access tool with minimal licensing complexity may prefer a simpler alternative. ScreenConnect is a strong choice for professional support teams that need both attended and unattended workflows, deployment flexibility, and administrative controls.
