LG Rebel 3: At First Glance

The LG Rebel 3 has been improved with necessary updates over the previously released models. This smartphone comes with more RAM and internal memory compared to its predecessors.

One of the interesting things about the LG Rebel 3 is that it also comes with 4G LTE. Although it’s nothing new with smartphones, it is impressive for a budget smartphone of this range.

However, looking at the LG Rebel 3’s spec sheet tells you it doesn’t offer anything beyond the normal. But this smartphone is reasonably priced and ought to be a good budget smartphone.

LG Rebel 3: Design, Dimension, and Weight

The LG Rebel 3 has a body built out of ceramic. This ceramic build gives a very nice feeling when you hold the smartphone.

LG offers this smartphone in either Black or Gray color.

Moving further to the physical build of this smartphone, the front of the LG Rebel 3 showcases a 5-inch display. This display is surrounded by a large top and bottom bezel.

Furthermore, the top bezel houses a front camera, speaker grille, and ambient light sensor. On the bottom of the screen, there is an LG logo positioned at the center.

There is no physical button, back button, nor recent apps button below the screen like many smartphones.

However, there are physical buttons placed on the side of the LG Rebel 3. The left side is fitted with the volume button and the power button.

Moving to the back of the LG Rebel 3, at the center of the back, the phone has some circles. Above these circles, you have a fingerprint sensor and a camera – the camera is right above the fingerprint sensor.

Then beneath the circles, the LG logo is positioned at the extreme bottom of the phone. All of these features are neatly arranged in a vertical line.

Furthermore, the LG Rebel 3 is compact and not too heavy. It weighs 136 g and measures 144.7 x 73.6 x 8 mm.

Lastly, the LG Rebel 3 has a micro USB port for charging and a headphone jack.

Overall, the LG Rebel 3’s design – aside from its chunky bezel – is okay for a budget smartphone. Therefore, it scores a seven in this review.

LG Rebel 3: Display Features

The bezels surrounding this smartphone’s screen are a bit discouraging and I’m sure I am not the only one who thinks so. Moreover, modern technology trends appreciate slimmer bezels and that would have been ideal on this smartphone.

Its bottom bezel in particular could have been trimmed further to create more room for a bigger display. The LG logo solely positioned at the bottom was unnecessary.

As a result of its chunky bezels, the LG Rebel 3’s display is 5.0-inch in size. Furthermore, its TFT display is a vivid representation of this smartphone’s price tag.

With a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, its display is exactly what you would expect from a budget smartphone’s display.

In conclusion, this display is short of what I expected from LG even if the LG Rebel 3 belongs to their budget line. Therefore, the LG Rebel 3 scores a six in this review.

LG Rebel 3: Camera Features

The LG Rebel 3 features a rear and front camera. Both cameras are 5 megapixels.

Furthermore, they both come with some interesting features. The rear camera features HD video recording, autofocus, HDR, flash, and a few other features.

On the other hand, the front camera has gesture shot features, selfie light, and cheese shot features.

Moving on to the performance they offer, the rear camera captures just 2K resolution images. It offers pictures of 2592 x 1944 pixels.

Meanwhile, the front camera can record videos of 730 pixel at 35 frames per second.

Although the LG Rebel 3’s cameras are not spectacular in any way, they are not too bad for the smartphone’s price. Therefore, the LG Rebel 3 scores a six in this camera review.

LG Rebel 3: Battery Life and Talk Time

LG equipped LG Rebel 3 with a 2,500 mAh removable battery.

This smartphone can last for up to 12 hours. However, the battery life depends on how you use the device.

You can extend this smartphone’s battery life by reducing screen brightness and switching on airplane mode.

One little setback, however, is that the LG Rebel 3 doesn’t support fast charging technology. Nevertheless, it doesn’t take more than 2 hours to charge from empty to full capacity.

The LG Rebel 3’s battery life is not very great, but it is sufficient. Therefore, it scores a six in this review.

LG Rebel 3: Storage Options and Performance

LG equipped the LG Rebel 3 with 16 GB internal storage. The phone’s Operating System uses about 6 GB out of the 16 GB storage.

This means that you get 10 GB of storage space for documents, music, pictures, apps, and more.

However, this 10 GB space can be exhausted quickly if you store a large number of files. Therefore, you will need to acquire a microSD card.

In comparison with most recent smartphones, this smartphone’s internal storage is slightly lower. However, the LG Rebel 3 scores a seven in this review considering that it is a budget smartphone.

LG Rebel 3: Security Features and Sensors

The LG Rebel 3 is equipped with a fingerprint sensor for security. In terms of sensors, the LG Rebel 3 comes with an accelerometer, ambient light, and proximity sensors.

Overall, the LG Rebel 3 comes with a reasonable selection of security features and sensors. Therefore, it scores a seven in this review.
