LG Aristo 2: At First Glance

The LG Aristo 2 is attractive enough to make you think it falls into the high-end category of smartphones. It gets more interesting when you consider how affordable the smartphone is.

Just like its predecessor – the LG Aristo – this smartphone remains budget-oriented but reasonably equipped. This LG Aristo 2 comes with slightly better hardware specs.

However, its specs are still in line with the sub-$100 price tag. Specs such as its 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, micro SD support up to 32 GB, 5 MP front camera, etc support this theory.

LG Aristo 2: Design, Dimension, and Weight

Aside from its glass screen, the LG Aristo 2 is an all-plastic built smartphone. Despite its plastic build, it feels very solid and durable.

Moreover, its shiny body neither retains stains nor scratches. The same goes for the screen – but like many other screens, it may be cracked if the phone is dropped accidentally.

This smartphone has a beautiful design. Its glossy reflective body covering and its smooth curved edges give it a sleek look. Due to its sleekness, this device feels awesome to hold.

On the right side of the LG Aristo 2, there’s nothing at all. While on the right side, you get a nicely fitted volume button.

At the bottom of the LG Aristo 2, there’s a microphone, a micro USB charging port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Meanwhile, you get a noise cancellation sensor at the top of the device.

Turning to the back of the phone, you will get a 13 MP camera. It looks perfectly flushed to the back of this device.

Below the camera, there’s a flash LED and a fingerprint sensor. However, this fingerprint sensor can also be used to turn the device on.

Furthermore, the LG Aristo 2 is definitely pocket friendly. It measures 144.7 x 71.8 x 8.1 mm and weighs 139 g.

Overall, the design and build of the LG Aristo 2 are great. Therefore, it scores a seven in this review.

LG Aristo 2: Display Features

LG equipped LG Aristo 2 is with a 5.0-inch IPS TFT display. This display has an HD screen resolution of 1230 x 720.

This smartphone’s display is built with capacitive touch screen technology. It features multitouch support that enhances touchscreen usage.

In relation to its price tag, the LG Aristo 2’s display is decent. But you shouldn’t expect a crispy high-end display.

In addition, LG equipped this smartphone with scratch-resistant tempered glass for protection. Hence, the LG Aristo 2 can withstand minor scratches and pressure.

Based on the highlighted features above, I rate LG Aristo 2’s display a seven in this review.

LG Aristo 2: Camera Features

The LG Aristo 2 features a dual camera design. You get one in the front and one at the back.

Both cameras are okay but the quality of the images they produce differ. The major reason for this is that the rear camera is 13 MP while the front camera is 5 MP.

Aside from that, both cameras have auto focus and touch focus features.

Generally, the LG Aristo 2’s camera captures images better when you are outdoors or in good lighting situations. However, the quality of the images the LG Aristo 2 produces in dark environments is poor.

Nonetheless, the LG Aristo 2’s camera is good enough for a budget smartphone. Therefore, it scores a seven in this review.

LG Aristo 2: Battery Life and Talk Time

LG equipped the LG Aristo 2 with a 2,500 mAh battery. This battery is user-replaceable.

Battery life on the LG Aristo 2 is excellent. The LG Aristo 2 lasts up to 17 hours and 5 minutes.

This is not much of a surprise since the smartphone is not a power-hungry device. Moreover, this device is optimized quite well to conserve battery.

However, how long this device lasts will vary depending on your usage. Factors such as screen brightness, saver mode, no of applications you have running, and the use of the internet will determine how long this device lasts.

Overall, the battery life of the LG Aristo 2 is splendid. Hence, it scores an eight in this review.

LG Aristo 2: Storage Options and Performance

The LG Aristo 2 comes with 16 GB internal storage.

Like many other budget smartphones, the 16 GB storage on this device will quickly become insufficient. You may run out of space if you store large files, games, and other applications.

Moreover, the LG Aristo 2’s Operating System uses up about 9 GB out of the 16 GB storage space. Hence, the need for storage expansion becomes necessary.

Thankfully, this budget LG phone supports an external memory expansion of up to 32 GB via a microSD card.

Overall, the LG Aristo 2’s storage is not too bad for a budget smartphone. Therefore, it scores a seven in this review.

LG Aristo 2: Security Features and Sensors

The LG Aristo 2 comes with a good selection of sensors and a security feature.

The facial recognition feature in particular is one of the biggest selling points of the LG Aristo 2. It works really well and it even has an advanced feature that doesn’t allow you to unlock the phone with a picture or video.

To be honest, this facial recognition is very efficient. It works well except in low light or dark conditions.

As I mentioned earlier, when it comes to sensors, you are getting a good selection of sensors on the LG Aristo 2. The LG Aristo 2 comes with proximity sensors, an accelerometer, a fingerprint sensor, and an ambient light sensor.

Overall, the LG Aristo 2 scores an eight in this review for its good security feature and sensor selection.
