Use the official Government of Telangana MeeSeva portal to find your certificate with its application number, save the electronic certificate exactly as provided, and only then print a paper copy. The electronic file is the source that carries the digital signature; printing creates a readable representation but does not replace that source.
Start at the Telangana MeeSeva portal, use the MeeSeva Certificate (Application No) lookup when it is available for your service, and keep the application number available for later verification. The exact result page and download controls can differ by certificate service, so follow the controls shown for your application rather than assuming every service has the same sequence.
Understand what is being protected
The electronic certificate is the authoritative file
A MeeSeva certificate is issued as a digitally signed electronic record. The Telangana Revenue Department’s income-certificate sample explicitly states: “Note : This is Digitally Signed Certificate, does not require physical signature. And this certificate can be verified at https://ts.meeseva.telangana.gov.in/ by furnishing the application number mentioned in the Certificate.” You can read that wording on the official Income Certificate General page.

A digital signature is an electronic authenticity mechanism, not a picture of a handwritten signature. The sample says a physical signature is unnecessary and identifies the application number as the verification route. Keep the original electronic file unchanged even if an office also asks for paper.

A printout is a useful representation, not a replacement
Paper is often convenient for an application, appointment or file, but it may not expose the same electronic verification material as the source file. Printing does not transfer the cryptographic properties of the original file onto the sheet. If a recipient questions authenticity, direct the recipient to the official application-number verification route and retain the original electronic certificate for that purpose.
What to have ready
- The application number exactly as shown on your MeeSeva receipt, application record or certificate.
- Access to the official Telangana MeeSeva portal, rather than an unofficial download page or a file forwarded by another person.
- A safe location where you can retain the original electronic certificate before opening a print dialog.
- Your transaction ID or application number if you need to check application status.
Keep the number’s letters, digits and punctuation in the same order and format shown in your records. If the portal rejects an entry, recheck the source document instead of repeatedly guessing a similar number.
Find the certificate through the official portal
- Open the Government of Telangana MeeSeva portal.
- Locate the portal’s MeeSeva Certificate (Application No) search field. The portal also presents a separate application-status facility; certificate lookup and status lookup are different functions.
- Enter the application number exactly as it appears in your MeeSeva records, then submit the search using the control shown on the current page.
- Review the result carefully for the correct applicant, service and certificate details. Do not save a result belonging to a different application.
- If the service presents an open, view or download control, use that service-provided control to obtain the electronic certificate. The official material does not establish one universal download button, file type or click sequence for every certificate service, so the labels may vary.
The portal’s certificate-search label confirms the application-number route, but it does not promise that every service exposes identical download controls. If your result page provides only viewing or directs you to another service-specific page, follow that instruction rather than converting a different document into a substitute certificate.
Save the original electronic certificate first
Use the portal’s own file or view
When the service offers a download, save the resulting file in its original form before printing. If it opens a certificate for viewing, use the page’s provided save or download action when available. Avoid changing the filename in a way that removes identifying information, and record the application number alongside the file so you can match it later.
Do not alter the signed content
Do not edit text, crop pages, add a signature image, convert formats, flatten pages or re-sign the document in an attempt to make it look more official. The official material confirms the digital signature and application-number verification, but does not document whether a particular conversion or viewer preserves a signature. Treat any modified copy as a convenience copy, not as the original signed certificate.
Keep a dependable backup
Store the unchanged electronic certificate in a location you control, such as a protected device folder and a second secure backup. Keep the application number with your records, but do not post the certificate or its identifying details publicly. If you email a copy, send the original file when the recipient needs electronic verification and explain that the application number can be checked on the official portal.
Print the certificate without replacing the source
- Open the unchanged certificate file or the portal’s certificate view.
- Choose the print command provided by your device or document viewer. Use the certificate as displayed; do not edit it before printing.
- Check the print preview for missing pages, clipped text, unreadable numbers or a blank page. Correct a printer problem and print again from the unchanged source.
- After printing, compare the paper’s application number and key details with the electronic certificate.
- File the paper copy for the office or person who requested it, while retaining the original electronic certificate separately.
No official MeeSeva source reviewed here prescribes a particular printer, paper size, browser, PDF application or print-quality setting. Those choices can affect readability, but they do not create or preserve the electronic signature. The security-preserving step is keeping the original signed file unchanged and making verification possible through its application number.

Ask what the receiving organization actually requested. If it accepts an electronic document, send the unchanged certificate obtained through MeeSeva, not a scan made from paper. That preserves the file that can be checked against the application number. If the organization requires a physical attachment, print from the unchanged source and submit the paper while retaining the electronic file. A scan of a printout can be harder to read and does not improve its verification properties.

When handing over paper in person, compare the application number and certificate details one final time. If you are mailing it, keep a separate electronic copy before sending. If you are uploading it to an online form, use the original file when the form accepts that format and check the form’s size or naming instructions without modifying the certificate’s contents.
Verify a certificate with its application number
- Go to the official MeeSeva portal.
- Open MeeSeva Certificate (Application No).
- Enter the application number printed on the certificate or supplied with the electronic record.
- Check that the returned certificate information corresponds to the person, service and details on the copy you received.
This is the verification approach stated on the official income-certificate sample. A physical signature is not required for that certificate, so a recipient should not reject it merely because the paper lacks a handwritten signature. The application-number result, not a scanned signature image, is the relevant official check.
Verification is especially useful when a paper copy has been photocopied, scanned or separated from the original email. The number gives the recipient a route back to the government portal rather than requiring trust in the appearance of a seal or signature. Keep the number legible on every copy; do not cover it with a label, staple or handwritten mark.
Check application status when the certificate is missing
If certificate lookup returns nothing, use MeeSeva’s separate application-status facility with the transaction ID or application number. The official MeeSeva FAQ explains that status information can include whether an operator has printed a certificate. That status detail is useful for investigating a kiosk transaction, but the exact fields can vary by service.
What common status situations mean
- Still processing or pending: the certificate has not reached a final approved state. Wait for the service’s process to complete or contact the MeeSeva channel handling the application.
- Approved but not available in your expected view: confirm that you are using the certificate search for the correct application number and service. Do not assume that approval guarantees an identical citizen download screen for every service.
- Printed status shown: the FAQ’s wording indicates that an operator has printed the certificate. If you do not have the paper, ask the relevant kiosk or service desk about collection or reprinting rather than altering an electronic copy.
- No matching record: check the number character by character, including any leading zeros, and confirm that you are on the official Telangana portal.
A status page is evidence about the application’s processing record; it is not automatically a replacement certificate. Save or print the certificate only after you have reached the certificate result itself or obtained the approved copy through the service’s stated route.
Know whether your service is Category A or Category B
MeeSeva’s FAQ describes two broad service categories. The category affects how an application is processed and where printing may occur; it should not be treated as a guarantee of a universal download workflow.

Check the category and instructions attached to your own application instead of inferring timing from another certificate type.
Category A describes the nature of the underlying data process, not a promise that the applicant will see a particular file extension or button. Category B describes additional checks before generation. In either category, the application number remains important for finding or verifying the issued certificate, while the current service instructions determine how you receive it.

Use kiosk printing when the service provides it
For an approved Category B certificate, the FAQ specifically describes printing at a MeeSeva kiosk after the certificate is generated. This is an official service route when it is offered for your application. Take the relevant application or transaction details and ask the kiosk operator to print the approved certificate through MeeSeva.
Do not generalize that Category B kiosk description to every certificate or assume that every Category A service has the same kiosk step. The portal’s current service instructions and your application status determine what is available.
If a kiosk prints the certificate, inspect the paper before leaving. Make sure the applicant name, service, application number and other visible details belong to your application. Keep the kiosk copy, but still retain any original electronic certificate that the portal provides. Kiosk printing is a delivery option; it does not turn the paper into a substitute for the digitally signed file.

The paper copy has no visible signature
That is not, by itself, a defect. The official income-certificate sample says the certificate is digitally signed and does not require a physical signature. Give the recipient the application number and point to the official MeeSeva verification route.
You printed an edited or converted copy
Keep it only as a reference or readability copy. Return to the portal and obtain the original electronic certificate again if possible, then preserve that file unchanged. Do not claim that an edited, flattened or re-signed version retains the original digital signature.
The portal shows a different layout
Portal controls can change by service and current interface. Look specifically for the certificate search labeled MeeSeva Certificate (Application No) and use the application-status function when you need processing information. Avoid third-party pages that imitate the portal or ask you to upload the certificate.
A recipient demands a handwritten signature
Show the official certificate wording that says a physical signature is not required, then offer verification by application number. If the receiving organization has a separate internal rule, ask whether it will accept an electronically verifiable MeeSeva certificate or wants a kiosk-issued paper copy; do not add a signature to the certificate yourself.

Check the MeeSeva acknowledgement, transaction receipt, previous email or the certificate itself. Because the official verification route depends on that number, do not substitute a phone number, name or unrelated transaction code unless the portal specifically labels it as accepted.

The number is readable electronically but not on paper
Do not hand over a copy on which the application number is blurred, clipped or hidden. Reprint from the unchanged source after correcting the printer problem, and compare the new paper with the electronic certificate. The number must remain available for the recipient’s portal check.
You received a file from someone else
Do not treat a forwarded attachment as authoritative merely because it has a government logo. Use the official portal and the application number to confirm that it corresponds to the correct certificate. Store the confirmed original in a controlled location and avoid uploading it to an unverified website.
Security checklist before handing over a copy
- Confirm that the application number on the paper matches the electronic certificate.
- Retain the original electronic file before giving away or discarding any paper.
- Use only the official Telangana MeeSeva portal for lookup and verification.

Which copy should you submit?
Submit the format the receiving organization requests, but preserve both forms whenever possible. A paper copy can satisfy a physical-file requirement, while the unchanged electronic certificate supports the official application-number verification route. If an organization accepts electronic documents, send the original downloaded file rather than a scan of the printout. If it requires paper, print from that original and keep the file for future checks.
