Option 1: Change Twitter Name on iPhone and Android
- Open Twitter App on your Android or iPhone.
- Then, on the top left of the App, tap the App menu icon (your Twitter profile picture). A long list of menu options will be displayed.
- Scroll down the displayed menu options and select Settings and privacy.
- When Settings and privacy opens, tap Account (the first item in the list). Your Twitter account settings will open.
- On the Login and security section, tap Username.
- Then, enter a new username and wait for twitter to verify that the name is available. If the name is available, a green tick will be displayed beside the new name.
- Finally, to save your changes and change Twitter name, at the bottom right of the screen, tap Done.
Option 2: Change Twitter Name on Twitter.com
- Open Twitter.com from a browser on your PC.
- Then, scroll down to the the bottom of the left pane of the page and click menu icon (3 horizontal dots with a black circle around them). A list of menu options will be displayed.
- From the displayed menu options, click Settings and privacy.
- On the left pane of the Settings page, the Account tab will be selected by default. On the right pane of Account tab, click Username. The Change username page will be displayed.
- Enter a new username – Twitter will verify whether the new name is available or not.
- If the name is NOT available (taken by someone else), an error message will be displayed. Otherwise, to change your Twitter name to the new name, at the bottom right of the screen, click Save.
