This Itechguide teaches you how to change brightness on Windows 10. The guide covers steps for 2 methods to change brightness on Windows 10.
Option 1: Change Brightness from Actions Center
If you have installed Windows 10 1903 update, the Brightness slider will be available in the Action Center. Use the steps below to adjust brightness:
- On the far right of the Windows 10 taskbar, click the Actions Center icon. Windows 10 Action Center will open.
- Then, on the bottom of Actions Center, to adjust the brightness of your Windows 10 PC, move the slider forward or backward – forward to make it brighter, backward to reduce the brightness.
If Actions Center does not have the brightness slider, it means that you have not installed Windows 10 1903 update. Use the steps in method 2 to change the brightness of your PC.

Option 2: Change Brightness from Display Settings
- Right-click the Windows 10 Start menu and click Settings.
- On Windows Settings, click System category.
You can also open Display settings by right-clicking an empty space on your dektop and selecting Display settings.
- Then, on the Settings screen, to adjust the brightness of your PC, move the slider beneath Change brightness for the inbuilt display forward or backward – forward to make it brighter, backward to reduce the brightness.
