Best overall value: the NAD C 3050 with the MDC2 BluOS-D module is the most convincing Naim Uniti-style alternative for many systems. Choose the Cambridge Audio Evo 150 SE if you need more output, broader physical connectivity or high-resolution USB playback. The Arcam SA35 is the premium high-power choice. If you want speakers, amplification and streaming in one coordinated product, look at the KEF LS50 Wireless II or Triangle AIO Twin instead.

The right choice depends first on whether you want a streaming amplifier to use with separate passive speakers or a complete wireless system with speakers already built in. Those are different categories, even though both can replace a traditional stack of hi-fi components.

What a Naim all-in-one system does

Naim’s Mu-so Utopia illustrates the all-in-one concept at its most ambitious. Naim describes it as “the most sophisticated all-in-one audio system Naim has ever designed.” Its specification lists 720 watts total, 15 speaker drivers and Dolby Atmos compatibility, with AirPlay, Google Cast, Bluetooth, Spotify, Tidal and Qobuz support. Those are manufacturer specifications rather than independent laboratory measurements.

A one-box system combines network streaming, digital conversion, amplification and loudspeakers. You provide power, a network connection when required and a music source or app. A streaming amplifier takes a different approach: it contains the network electronics, DAC and power amplifier, but you must connect a pair of passive speakers.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

That distinction determines upgrade flexibility. With an amplifier and passive speakers, you can change the speakers later, add a subwoofer, or select a speaker whose dispersion suits your room. A complete wireless system is simpler and uses fewer boxes, but its built-in amplifier and speakers are normally treated as one package.

What Hi-Fi? identifies the NAD C 3050, Cambridge Evo 150 SE, Arcam SA35 and Technics SA-C600 as streaming-amplifier options, while the KEF and Triangle products are complete systems. Its 2026 buying coverage says the Arcam SA35 displaced the Naim Uniti Atom in the position it had held for years. The same coverage describes the NAD as an award-winning streaming amplifier that costs less than the premium Naim Uniti Atom; no current prices are established here, so treat retailer prices and stock as changeable.

Best overall value: NAD C 3050 with MDC2 BluOS-D

The NAD C 3050 is the strongest value-led choice when you want the architecture of a Naim Uniti-style system but do not want to give up speaker choice. At 100 watts per channel, it has a useful level of power for a broad range of passive speakers, provided their impedance and sensitivity are suitable for your room and listening level.

Why it stands out

  • Turntable ready: the built-in MM phono input accepts a moving-magnet cartridge without a separate phono preamplifier.
  • Television ready: HDMI eARC provides a direct route from a compatible TV, with volume controlled through the TV system when supported.
  • Flexible digital inputs: USB Type A, optical and coaxial inputs cover common streamers, disc transports, televisions and legacy digital sources.
  • Broad network ecosystem: BluOS, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer are listed as supported services or protocols.

Select the NAD when future speaker upgrades matter more than having speakers included in the box. It is also the most practical option in this list for a mixed system containing streaming, a turntable and a TV.

Best for power and connectivity: Cambridge Audio Evo 150 SE

The Evo 150 SE raises the amplifier rating to 150 watts per channel and offers the broadest stated high-resolution computer-audio support in the comparison. It accepts up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256, figures that matter mainly if your library or computer source actually contains those formats.

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

Connections and system planning

  • MM phono: connect a moving-magnet turntable directly.
  • Balanced XLR: useful when your source has balanced outputs and you want to maintain a balanced connection over the cable run.
  • HDMI ARC: connect a compatible television; unlike the NAD’s stated eARC input, the available data specifies ARC for this model.
  • USB-B: connect a computer as a dedicated digital source.

Choose the Evo 150 SE when the extra rated output, balanced input or USB specification solves a real requirement. Higher format support does not automatically mean better sound: speaker matching, room acoustics and recording quality remain more consequential for many systems.

Premium high-power option: Arcam SA35

The Arcam SA35 is a 120-watt-per-channel Class G streaming amplifier. What Hi-Fi?’s 2026 guide says it finally usurped the spot long held by the Naim Uniti Atom. It is still an amplifier rather than a complete speaker system, so you need a separate pair of passive speakers.

Who should choose it

The SA35 makes sense when you are building around demanding passive speakers or a larger room and want more headroom than the NAD provides without moving to separate preamp and power-amplifier boxes. The 120-watt figure is a per-channel rating; it is not comparable to the Mu-so Utopia’s 720-watt total system figure because the products use different architectures and speaker arrangements.

Check the amplifier’s current connection and service details before purchase if a particular input, television standard or file format is essential. The supplied specifications establish its power and streaming-amplifier category, but do not provide a complete connection table.

Lower-cost route with discs: Technics SA-C600

The Technics SA-C600 is the alternative to consider when a CD collection is as important as network streaming. What Hi-Fi? identifies it as an affordable streaming-amplifier route and notes its integrated CD player. It still belongs to the passive-speaker category: the unit supplies the amplification and source electronics, while you choose the speakers.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

Its appeal is practical rather than specification-led. Instead of adding a separate CD player to a network amplifier, you keep discs and streaming in one chassis. The supplied information does not state its output power, so compare its published speaker-driving requirements with your chosen speakers before ordering.

Complete systems: KEF LS50 Wireless II and Triangle AIO Twin

KEF LS50 Wireless II

The LS50 Wireless II is the clearest choice when you want the fewest boxes. Amplification and streaming are built into the stereo speaker pair, so there is no separate amplifier to match. The listed services and protocols include Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Bluetooth and Roon Ready support.

Choose it when installation simplicity and a coordinated speaker-amplifier design outweigh the ability to swap in another amplifier later. You can still build around stands, careful placement and an optional subwoofer strategy where the system supports it, but the core electronics remain integrated.

Triangle AIO Twin

The Triangle AIO Twin is another complete stereo system, with Bluetooth aptX HD, network-file playback, Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz and Deezer support. Its built-in phono stage is important if you want a turntable without adding a separate phono preamplifier.

It is a strong fit for a compact living room, office or second system where a separate amplifier and speaker cables would add unnecessary complexity. Confirm the turntable’s cartridge type before connecting it: the stated built-in phono capability does not by itself establish support for every cartridge design.

Streaming amplifier or complete wireless system?

Priority Better category Reason
Replaceable speakers Streaming amplifier plus passive speakers You can change the speakers as your room, taste or budget changes.
Fewest boxes and simplest setup Complete wireless system Amplification, DAC, networking and speakers arrive as one coordinated solution.
Turntable integration Either, if the model has the required phono input The NAD and Cambridge list MM phono inputs; the Triangle lists a built-in phono stage.
Television audio Streaming amplifier with HDMI ARC/eARC The NAD lists HDMI eARC and the Cambridge lists HDMI ARC.
Large room or difficult speakers Higher-powered streaming amplifier The Cambridge is rated at 150 watts per channel and the Arcam at 120 watts per channel; actual suitability depends on speaker impedance, sensitivity and listening distance.

How to choose the right specification

1. Match power to the room and speakers

Do not select solely by the largest wattage number. Speaker sensitivity, nominal and minimum impedance, listening distance and desired peak volume all affect the result. A 100-watt amplifier can be entirely adequate with efficient speakers in a small room, while a less sensitive speaker in a large room may benefit from the additional headroom of a 120- or 150-watt design. Use the speaker manufacturer’s impedance guidance and the amplifier’s manual together.

2. Decide which physical sources you will actually connect

  • For a moving-magnet turntable, require an MM phono input or plan for an external phono stage.
  • For a TV, verify whether you need HDMI ARC or eARC and whether your television supports the required control features.
  • For a computer, the Cambridge’s USB-B input and stated 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256 support are the clearest match in this list.
  • For CDs, the Technics SA-C600’s integrated player avoids another component.

3. Check the streaming platform you use

AirPlay, Chromecast, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect are not interchangeable in day-to-day use. Connect protocols generally hand playback to the system while your phone acts as a controller; Bluetooth sends audio from the phone itself and can be useful when a service is not integrated. Match the model’s listed services to your subscriptions and local-file habits rather than assuming every network product supports every platform.

4. Plan speaker placement before buying

A passive-speaker system needs stands or stable furniture, speaker cable and enough clearance from walls for the chosen design. A complete wireless pair still needs careful left-right spacing, a power outlet for each powered section and a reliable network position. Place the speakers symmetrically where possible and leave room to adjust toe-in after initial listening.

Setup checklist for a streaming amplifier

  1. Choose compatible passive speakers. Check nominal impedance, minimum impedance and sensitivity against the amplifier and your room.
  2. Place and wire the speakers. Connect the amplifier’s left and right outputs with correct polarity; red to red and black to black.
  3. Connect the network. Use the manufacturer’s app to join Wi-Fi, or use wired Ethernet if the installation point and router allow it.
  4. Add physical sources. Connect a turntable to MM phono, a TV to the specified HDMI ARC/eARC input, a computer to USB-B where available, and optical or coaxial sources to the corresponding digital input.
  5. Update firmware and the control app. Network products can add service compatibility and stability fixes through software updates.
  6. Set a safe starting volume. Begin low, select the correct input and raise the level gradually while checking for hum, distortion or dropouts.
  7. Organize services and presets. Sign in only to the platforms you use, then save frequently played stations, albums or playlists for quicker access.

Common mistakes and fixes

Buying an amplifier without budgeting for speakers

A streaming amplifier is not an all-in-one speaker system. The NAD, Cambridge, Arcam and Technics options require passive speakers, speaker cable and suitable placement. If you want everything in one product category, choose the KEF or Triangle system instead.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Confusing total system watts with per-channel watts

The Mu-so Utopia’s 720-watt total describes its complete multi-driver system, while the NAD, Cambridge and Arcam figures are per-channel amplifier ratings. Compare like with like and do not infer loudness from the numbers alone.

Assuming high-resolution files guarantee audible improvement

The Evo 150 SE’s support for up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256 confirms compatibility, not a guaranteed audible advantage over lower-resolution material. Source mastering, speaker response, room acoustics and listening level still determine what you hear.

Connecting the wrong turntable output

A turntable with a moving-magnet cartridge can use the listed MM inputs on the NAD or Cambridge. A turntable with a different cartridge type may need a separate phono stage; check the cartridge and amplifier requirements before connecting it.

Choosing services by name rather than protocol

Verify whether your preferred service is supported natively, through AirPlay or Chromecast, through Bluetooth, or by a dedicated Connect protocol. The listed support differs between models, so this check prevents an otherwise avoidable app or playback limitation.
