ScreenshotNeo is the first alternative to try if you want a straightforward screenshot API with cleanup before capture and billing tied to clean shots rather than failed ones. Among the six alternatives covered in the 2026 information available here, ScreenshotOne is the closest like-for-like ApiFlash replacement; Urlbox suits more demanding stealth or enterprise needs, while Browserless is designed for teams that need browser automation around a screenshot.

Choosing at scale takes more than comparing monthly prices. Match each service to your successful-capture volume, request rate, page complexity, blocking risk, and need for storage or automation. The figures below reflect 2026 published or comparison information and can change; confirm current terms with each provider before committing.

Which ApiFlash alternative should you try first?

Try ScreenshotNeo first if the workload is mainly URL-to-image or PDF capture and you want consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets removed before the screenshot. Its billing rules also distinguish clean shots from bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits, so you can inspect the verdict and billing headers for each response. It offers an API and an MCP server for AI agents. See ScreenshotNeo.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The other six options below cover different needs rather than forming a universal ranking. ScreenshotOne is the clearest direct replacement based on the published endpoint and billing description; Urlbox publishes tiered rendering and support choices; Browserless extends into programmable browser work. ScrapingBee and Scrapfly are more natural when screenshots are part of scraping workflows, and ScreenshotRender is a price-focused candidate whose comparison figures warrant direct verification.

Compare the alternatives against your workload

For a scale decision, first estimate successful, billable captures, not just requested URLs. Then check how quickly the service can process them and what happens when the target site blocks automation, renders slowly, or serves a cached result.

Service Best fit Published price or quota in the 2026 information Scale-relevant details and limits
ScreenshotNeo Screenshot API with pre-capture cleanup and explicit page/billing verdicts Free: 1,000 shots/month, no card. Starter: $5 for 3,000; Growth: $15 for 15,000; Pro: $39 for 60,000; Scale: $99 for 250,000; Business: $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free. Only clean shots are billed; bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing. MCP server, bulk capture up to 100 URLs per call, async jobs, signed webhooks, caching, and extensive render controls.
ScreenshotOne Closest like-for-like API replacement Free tier up to 100 screenshots/month; Basic $17/month for 2,000 screenshots; 40 requests/minute; $0.009 per extra screenshot. Only successfully rendered, non-cache-served screenshots count toward quota. Lists PNG, WebP, JPEG and other formats, HTML/PDF rendering, full-page capture, caching, S3 upload, webhooks, signed links, ad and cookie-banner blocking, and stealth mode.
Urlbox Complex rendering, stealth/privacy needs, or enterprise support Ultra: $99/month for up to 15,000 renders; Business: $498/month. A seven-day trial is advertised. Lo-Fi, Hi-Fi, Ultra, Business, and Enterprise tiers. Request-per-minute limits, third-party website coverage, and privacy/stealth behavior vary by tier. Business lists increased limits, SLAs, security, and dedicated support.
Browserless Screenshot capture combined with browser automation Not stated in the cited screenshot/API documentation. REST endpoints cover screenshots, PDFs, content retrieval, structured scraping, crawling, downloads, and function execution. The screenshot endpoint accepts a URL or raw HTML and Puppeteer-style options, returning PNG, JPEG, or WebP.
ScrapingBee Scraping workload that also needs screenshots Screenshot-specific price and limits not established in the 2026 comparison. Described as a general web-scraping API with credit accounting; proxy rotation and access to bot-protected sites may matter to broader workloads. Verify screenshot limits and current pricing.
Scrapfly Screenshot work inside an existing scraping stack The comparison lists a one-time 1,000-credit allowance and a $30/month starting plan. Screenshot calls consume credits; anti-bot handling is opt-in. Confirm current credit accounting and limits directly before budgeting.
ScreenshotRender Price-focused dedicated screenshot API to evaluate The comparison lists a refillable free tier of 100 renders/month and a $14/month starting price. It describes billing per successful shot and stealth on paid plans. These details come from an industry comparison, not a first-party pricing page in the information available here; verify plans, reliability, and terms.

Price figures in the table are not interchangeable measures: a “screenshot,” “render,” and credit may have different billing rules, and overages or failed requests can change the effective cost. ScreenshotOne’s 40 requests per minute is a stated Basic-plan limit; equivalent throughput figures are not established here for the other services. Do not infer their concurrency or queue behavior from a monthly allowance.

What each alternative is suited to

1. ScreenshotNeo: cleanup and clear per-response outcomes

ScreenshotNeo is the first option to try for a capture-only integration where unwanted overlays or failed pages would otherwise waste output or budget. It accepts one GET request for a URL and can return PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. The 63 available options include full-page capture with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element capture, dark mode, 12 device presets or a custom viewport, retina scale, PDF settings, and HTML/CSS-to-image rendering.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For dynamic pages, options include custom CSS or JavaScript, clicking an element before capture, hiding selectors, and waiting for a selector, delay, or network idle. Request controls include blocking ads, trackers, requests, or resource types; custom headers, cookies, user agent, Authorization, timezone, and geolocation. It also supports transparent backgrounds, resizing, configurable-TTL caching, signed links for public image tags, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk requests of up to 100 URLs, a usage API, and an OpenAPI spec. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, which can ease migration; still validate the output and billing semantics before switching production traffic.

The available plans are listed in the table, with every feature on every plan. A free API key can be created at the signup link at the end of the ScreenshotNeo section below.

2. ScreenshotOne: the closest direct replacement

ScreenshotOne’s official getting-started documentation describes GET and POST requests to https://api.screenshotone.com/take. It accepts a URL and can also receive JSON options or hosted HTML/Markdown input. Its published Basic plan offers a concrete volume and rate limit, making it easier to compare against a known request pattern than services whose limits are not stated here. Its quota rule excludes unsuccessful renders and cache-served results, which can be important when a workload repeats URLs or encounters unreliable target sites.

  • CRISP CLARITY: This 22 inch class (21.5″ viewable) Philips V line monitor delivers crisp Full HD 1920x1080 visuals. Enjoy movies, shows and videos with remarkable detail
  • 100HZ FAST REFRESH RATE: 100Hz brings your favorite movies and video games to life. Stream, binge, and play effortlessly
  • SMOOTH ACTION WITH ADAPTIVE-SYNC: Adaptive-Sync technology ensures fluid action sequences and rapid response time. Every frame will be rendered smoothly with crystal clarity and without stutter
  • INCREDIBLE CONTRAST: The VA panel produces brighter whites and deeper blacks. You get true-to-life images and more gradients with 16.7 million colors
  • THE PERFECT VIEW: The 178/178 degree extra wide viewing angle prevents the shifting of colors when viewed from an offset angle, so you always get consistent colors

Its listed features cover common screenshot operations plus delivery and operations needs such as S3 upload, webhooks, signed links, caching, and stealth mode. Evaluate the quota rule alongside the actual feature combination your pages require: full-page and PDF rendering, banner blocking, or stealth may affect how a target renders even when the endpoint is simple.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Urlbox: tiered rendering and support

Urlbox publishes five tiers: Lo-Fi, Hi-Fi, Ultra, Business, and Enterprise. The 2026 pricing information calls Ultra a fit for complex rendering scenarios and lists up to 15,000 renders at $99 per month. Business is listed at $498 per month and includes increased limits, SLAs, security, and dedicated support. A seven-day trial is advertised. The tier affects request-per-minute limits, third-party website coverage, and privacy/stealth behavior, so compare the tier-specific terms rather than assuming a feature applies uniformly.

4. Browserless: browser tasks beyond screenshots

Browserless is a stronger fit when a screenshot is one step in a larger browser workflow. Its REST API documentation lists endpoints for screenshots, PDFs, content retrieval, structured scraping, crawling, downloads, and function execution. The dedicated screenshot endpoint accepts either a URL or raw HTML with Puppeteer-style options and can return PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Documentation shows POST authentication with a token, full-page capture, and element-bounded capture. Browserless describes its REST APIs as HTTP endpoints for common browser tasks including screenshots, PDFs, content scraping, downloads, function execution, and website unblocking. If you only need a static URL-to-image call, those broader capabilities may be unnecessary; if you need actions or extraction around capture, they are relevant.

5. ScrapingBee: screenshot as part of scraping

The 2026 comparison positions ScrapingBee as a general scraping API whose screenshot support is a side feature. It uses credit-based accounting and may suit a workload that also needs proxy rotation or access to bot-protected websites. Screenshot-specific limits and current pricing are not established in the comparison, so check the provider’s current terms and calculate the credit cost for the exact screenshot operation before treating it as a low-cost capture API.

6. Scrapfly: a fit for an existing scraping platform

The comparison’s listed one-time 1,000-credit allowance and $30 monthly starting plan make Scrapfly worth considering if the team already uses its scraping platform. Screenshot requests consume credits, and anti-bot handling is opt-in. The effective price depends on current credit accounting and the settings used; verify both rather than comparing the starting subscription with another provider’s per-shot charge.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

7. ScreenshotRender: verify the price case

The comparison describes ScreenshotRender as a dedicated API with 100 renders per month on a refillable free tier, a $14 monthly starting price, billing per successful shot, and stealth on paid plans. These claims are from an industry comparison rather than a first-party pricing page in the information available here. Treat it as a candidate to validate, not as a confirmed lowest-cost choice: check what qualifies as a successful render, whether the free quota refills monthly, and what the paid plan includes.

How to estimate cost and throughput at scale

Calculate the billable unit

Write down how the provider counts a request: successful screenshot, render, credit, or browser usage. Multiply the expected monthly number of billable captures by the plan’s included volume and any stated overage. For example, ScreenshotOne’s 2026 Basic listing is $17/month for 2,000 screenshots, with a stated $0.009 per extra screenshot; that is a vendor-published plan figure, not a guarantee that every requested URL uses one billable unit. Its published rule excludes failed renders and cache-served screenshots from quota. For other services, do not assume the same failure or cache treatment unless their current terms say so.

Check peak rate separately from monthly volume

A monthly allowance does not tell you whether a service can absorb a burst. Compare the highest expected requests per minute with a vendor-published limit, and ask about concurrency, queueing, and throttling if those figures are not published. ScreenshotOne Basic lists 40 requests per minute. Urlbox says limits vary by tier, but the figures are not stated here. For the remaining options, no equivalent request-rate value is established in the cited information.

Include page complexity and recovery

A page that depends on JavaScript, lazy-loaded images, geographic content, or a consent overlay may need different capture settings than a static page. Determine whether you need a full-page image or a viewport image, a selector-specific element, PDF output, a particular viewport, or a wait condition. Run representative URLs through the intended configuration, inspect results and response statuses, and establish retry rules for transient failures rather than treating a monthly package as a reliability guarantee.

What to check before migrating from ApiFlash

Test the replacement with a sample that reflects production, not only a homepage. Keep the input URL and output requirement constant so differences in rendering are visible. For each candidate, record:

  • Output parity: PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF; viewport versus full page; selector capture; and whether the page’s dynamic content appears.
  • Wait behavior: whether the page needs a selector wait, delay, or network-idle strategy, and what happens when the condition never occurs.
  • Overlay handling: whether cookie banners, ads, popups, or chat widgets remain in the image and whether blocking them is configurable.
  • Failure billing: treatment of timeouts, browser errors, bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, and cache hits.
  • Access control: support for authentication, custom headers/cookies, user agents, or geographic rendering if your pages require them.
  • Operations: caching, object-storage delivery, signed URLs, webhooks, asynchronous jobs, rate limits, support response, and any SLA relevant to your integration.

Prefer an API that exposes a clear result for each job and makes failure states observable. A service that reports a failed or blocked page is easier to monitor than one where an unusable image is indistinguishable from a successful capture. Validate these behaviors with your target sites; no general feature list establishes how a particular protected site will respond.

Cookie banners are accepted before capture and 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed; each step can be turned off. Bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are never billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. AI agents can take screenshots through the MCP server. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Common migration problems and fixes

The returned image is blank or incomplete

Check whether the target relies on JavaScript or lazy-loaded content. Use a wait condition appropriate to the page—such as a selector, a delay, or network idle where available—and test a full-page capture if content appears below the initial viewport. A successful HTTP response alone does not establish that the expected page content rendered.

The page shows a consent prompt, popup, or chat panel

Compare the provider’s banner and overlay handling, then test whether the cleanup can be enabled or disabled for the target. A site-specific dialog may not behave like a commonly recognized consent platform, so inspect the captured output rather than assuming every overlay will be removed.

Requests slow down or fail during a burst

Compare your burst rate with the plan’s request-per-minute limit, not just its monthly quota. For ScreenshotOne Basic, the published figure is 40 requests/minute. If your planned rate exceeds a stated limit, reduce concurrency or choose a tier/provider with limits that fit; where no limit is stated, ask the provider before launch and monitor throttling responses.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Credits or quota disappear faster than requests

Determine whether the provider counts attempts, successful renders, cache misses, credits, or browser time. For credit-based scraping services, ask what a screenshot call costs under the options you will use. For cache-enabled services, test whether a repeated URL is a cache hit and whether that hit consumes quota under the current plan.

Protected pages return a challenge or CAPTCHA

Stealth, proxy, or anti-bot features are not guarantees that every site can be captured. Compare the service’s tier-specific terms, check whether anti-bot handling is opt-in, and test the target domain lawfully before scaling. Where a provider’s coverage or behavior is not established, ask directly rather than promising customers that a protected page will render.

FAQ

Can I migrate ApiFlash parameter names directly?

ScreenshotNeo says parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, which can make switching easier. Still test response formats, defaults, and option behavior before moving all production traffic.

Does a screenshot API replace a browser automation framework?

Not necessarily. A simple capture endpoint handles URL-to-image work; Browserless is the more relevant option in this list when browser actions, content extraction, or other browser tasks must be part of the same workflow.

Should I use a scraping API for screenshots?

Use one when screenshotting is genuinely coupled to extraction, proxy rotation, or anti-bot work in the same stack. If the workload is primarily screenshots, compare a dedicated capture API’s billing unit and rendering controls directly.
