The Xiaomi HyperOS 3 global rollout is no longer an upcoming launch: Xiaomi scheduled staged releases from October–November 2025 through December 2025–March 2026. The update targets selected global Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices, but the actual OTA still depends on the exact model, regional firmware, language, carrier, and software version.
Last updated: August 18, 2026. Xiaomi’s published schedule describes a “soft release,” not one universal worldwide launch date. The information below applies to global-market devices sold outside mainland China and should be treated as a published rollout plan rather than a permanent guarantee. Check the device-specific OTA and regional Xiaomi support channel before assuming that an update is available.
Key takeaways
- Xiaomi’s official global HyperOS 3 schedule used three rollout windows: October–November 2025, November–December 2025, and December 2025–March 2026.
- The official list covers selected Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones and tablets, while Xiaomi listed the Xiaomi Watch S4 41mm and Smart Band 10 editions as available on September 24, 2025.
- A device appearing on the global list does not guarantee that every HyperOS 3 feature will be available because features vary by model, region, language, hardware, account, and app version.
- HyperOS 3 features can require separate updates to Gallery, Mi Canvas, Mi Fitness, or Google apps, so installing the operating-system update may not be enough.
- Owners should check the exact regional firmware and wait for the correct stable OTA rather than flashing unrelated ROMs from China, India, Europe, or another market.
Has Xiaomi HyperOS 3 launched globally?
Yes, Xiaomi’s global HyperOS 3 rollout was scheduled as a phased release rather than a single worldwide OTA launch. Xiaomi’s official global page listed the first phone and tablet window as October–November 2025, the second as November–December 2025, and the third as December 2025–March 2026. The schedule therefore does not support describing HyperOS 3 as an imminent global launch in August 2026.

A rollout window is not the same as a guaranteed delivery date for every owner.

Why was the September 2025 Xiaomi event not a universal OTA launch?
The September 24, 2025 Xiaomi global event promoted the Xiaomi 15T Series and related products, but an international product event does not prove that every eligible phone received HyperOS 3 on that date. The official September 2025 global event page should be understood as product-launch information, while the HyperOS page supplies the operating-system rollout schedule.
Readers should distinguish among four different events:

- Announcement: Xiaomi describes the operating system or its features.
- Product launch: Xiaomi introduces phones, tablets, or wearables that may ship with or support HyperOS 3.
- Soft release: Xiaomi begins distributing software to selected devices and regions.
- OTA availability: A specific device receives an over-the-air update for its particular firmware branch.
Which devices were included in Xiaomi’s global HyperOS 3 schedule?
The following tables reproduce Xiaomi’s published global schedule by rollout window. The list is for global versions, not automatically for Chinese-market equivalents, imported handsets, or every similarly named regional variant. Xiaomi also says that the list may be adjusted.
October–November 2025: first listed global rollout window

Being listed in a window means that Xiaomi planned the model for that phase. It does not guarantee that every country received the same build, that every carrier approved the release at the same time, or that every advertised feature arrived with the initial system package.
What features does HyperOS 3 add?
HyperOS 3 is presented by Xiaomi as an ecosystem update covering phones, tablets, wearables, AI services, and connected devices. The feature set is not identical across all supported products. Xiaomi’s feature-specific notes identify requirements for AI, Gallery, tablet, wearable, and cross-device functions.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →How do HyperOS 3 cross-device features work?
HyperOS 3 promotes cross-device sharing for photos, videos, files, Wi-Fi passwords, web pages, and contacts. Xiaomi also highlights cross-device biometric unlocking, phone-app windows on iPad, phone connectivity and hotspot interaction with iPhone, and resizable windows for phone apps in desktop-style layouts.
These functions are ecosystem features rather than simple changes to the phone interface. Compatibility may depend on the connected Xiaomi device, iPhone or iPad model, operating-system version, Xiaomi or Google app, account, network, and setup permissions. “Works with Apple devices” should therefore be read as feature-specific compatibility, not as a promise that every HyperOS 3 function works across iPhone and iPad.
What AI and Gemini features are included?
Xiaomi highlights Xiaomi HyperAI, on-device content search, recording summaries, AI image-generation tools, Gemini Live screen and camera sharing, and Gemini assistance across selected Xiaomi and Google apps.
Xiaomi HyperAI is limited to selected models, languages, and regions. Internet access may be required, and Google Gemini compatibility depends on the device, account, language, country, and supported app. Some capabilities were described as phased releases, including DeepThink, AI Search summarization, and AI Writing, so a phone can install HyperOS 3 without immediately showing every AI tool promoted on Xiaomi’s global page.

AI output can also vary by language, device hardware, account availability, and cloud-service access. The safest expectation is that newer or higher-end devices may expose more AI functions than older supported models, even when both devices receive HyperOS 3.
What privacy and security changes does Xiaomi claim?
Xiaomi describes HyperOS 3 security features including edge-to-cloud AI data security, on-device privacy storage, confidential cloud computing, secure-channel transmission, and a MiTEE-powered security protocol for interconnectivity. Xiaomi also describes post-quantum encryption for certain communications.
Those statements are Xiaomi’s product claims, not independent verification of an absolute security guarantee. AI features can involve on-device processing, cloud processing, internet access, or third-party services depending on the function. Users should review the permissions, account settings, and privacy notices associated with each feature instead of treating “AI privacy” as a universal property of every HyperOS 3 operation.
What tablet improvements does HyperOS 3 provide?
HyperOS 3 adds or promotes resizable windows, split-screen multitasking, cross-device workflows, and improved handwriting responsiveness on supported tablets. Split-screen support still depends on the tablet model and the app.
Xiaomi specifically states that certain handwriting-latency improvements work on the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro with Mi Canvas version 2.0.6 or later. Pressure sensitivity requires Mi Canvas version 2.1.1 or later. Those requirements show why a system update alone may not unlock every tablet feature: the operating system, tablet hardware, and companion app version all matter.
What changes affect Gallery and wearables?
The new Gallery experience requires HyperOS 3, while some Gallery functions also require separate Gallery app updates. If a Gallery option is missing after the system update, check the Gallery app version before assuming that the installation failed.
Xiaomi’s wearable notes say that workout-stat casting requires a compatible phone, the latest Mi Fitness app, and a connected compatible watch. Watch features may therefore depend on both the wearable firmware and the phone-side Mi Fitness update. HyperOS 3 does not make every existing Xiaomi watch or fitness band compatible with every newly advertised function.
Why is HyperOS 3 missing from a listed phone?
A missing HyperOS 3 OTA does not automatically mean that a listed phone is unsupported. The most common explanations are a staged regional release, a different firmware branch, carrier approval, a model or variant mismatch, a temporary rollout pause, or a separate app update that has not arrived.
| Possible cause | What it means | Recommended response |
|---|---|---|
| Staged rollout | Xiaomi has enabled the update for some owners before others. | Check again later using the correct regional updater. |
| Regional firmware branch | Global, EEA, Indian, Chinese, and other builds can follow different schedules. | Identify the installed ROM region before comparing reports online. |
| Carrier approval | A carrier-sold model may require network-provider testing. | Check the carrier’s support channel as well as Xiaomi’s updater. |
| Variant mismatch | Similar retail names can represent different model numbers or markets. | Compare the exact model number, not only the product name. |
| Rollout pause | Xiaomi may temporarily stop distribution after discovering bugs. | Wait for the corrected official OTA instead of forcing installation. |
| Imported or modified software | A Chinese-market handset, unlocked bootloader, or custom ROM may not follow the global schedule. | Use the firmware-specific support route and avoid unrelated ROMs. |
| Separate app dependency | The operating system is installed but Gallery, Mi Canvas, Mi Fitness, or Gemini is outdated. | Update the relevant app through its supported update channel. |
How can you check for HyperOS 3 safely?
- Open Settings.
- Open About phone or System update. Xiaomi’s exact label can vary by firmware and region.
- Check for updates and read the displayed device and build information.
- Confirm the exact model, model number, regional ROM or firmware branch, and Android security-patch information before comparing the device with Xiaomi’s list.
- Install an offered stable OTA only when the phone has sufficient battery and a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
- After installation, update relevant system apps such as Gallery, Mi Canvas, or Mi Fitness if a feature requires them.
- If no update appears, consult Xiaomi Community or the official regional support channel rather than relying on a China-only schedule or an unverified social-media list.
The settings path is intentionally general because Xiaomi changes menu labels between devices and regional firmware. A global phone purchased in one country and used in another can also retain a firmware branch that follows the sales region rather than the current physical location.
Should you flash a different ROM to get HyperOS 3?
Ordinary users should wait for the correct regional stable OTA instead of flashing an unrelated ROM. Manual installation can cause data loss, bootloader complications, banking-app failures, warranty or support concerns, and—in a worst-case scenario—a device that will not boot.
A Chinese-market model is not automatically converted into a global model by installing global software. Hardware bands, services, bootloader status, regional certification, and update eligibility can all differ. A device listed on Xiaomi’s China-market page is not automatically included in the global schedule; Xiaomi’s China HyperOS page is useful for comparison only and should not be used as proof of global availability.

Is HyperOS 3 the same on every Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO device?
No. HyperOS 3 is a common platform name, but the delivered experience varies by device, region, language, hardware, app version, account, and third-party app support.

Xiaomi did not provide one Android-base version applicable to every HyperOS 3 device in the official global material used for this article. The Android base should therefore be checked against the exact build for the exact device rather than generalized across the product family.
Should you wait for HyperOS 3 or buy a newer device?
Keep the current phone and wait when the exact global model is on Xiaomi’s official list and the only problem is a delayed OTA. A new purchase is more defensible when the current device is absent from the list, has hardware that cannot support a desired feature, has reached the end of its support period, or no longer meets the owner’s performance, camera, battery, or connectivity needs.
| Situation | Practical decision |
|---|---|
| Exact model is listed, but the OTA has not appeared | Wait and verify the regional firmware; do not upgrade solely because the rollout is delayed. |
| Exact model is not listed | Do not assume HyperOS 3 will arrive; verify with the regional Xiaomi channel before buying or flashing anything. |
| You want maximum AI or camera capability | Consider a newer Xiaomi flagship, but confirm that the desired feature is supported in the buying region. |
| You prioritize performance and value | Consider a POCO model, while accepting that camera and ecosystem priorities may differ. |
| You need a lower-cost phone | Consider a Redmi model, but expect greater variation in hardware-dependent AI and camera functions. |
| You need handwriting, multitasking, or cross-device work | Consider a supported Xiaomi or Redmi tablet and verify the tablet hardware and companion-app requirements. |
| You want wearable integration | Verify watch or band compatibility, the latest Mi Fitness app, and regional availability. |
Potential replacement products in the official schedule include the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro, Xiaomi MIX Flip, POCO F7-series phones, POCO X7-series phones, Redmi Note 14 models, Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro, POCO Pad, Redmi Pad 2 models, Xiaomi Watch S4 41mm, and Smart Band 10 editions. These are not automatic buying recommendations: feature fit and regional availability matter more than the HyperOS 3 name alone.
The Xiaomi Global product catalog is the appropriate starting point for checking products in a particular market. The retrieved official sources did not establish reliable current prices for August 2026, so prices, stock, warranty terms, and current promotions should be checked on the country-specific Xiaomi store or an authorized retailer. Promotions mentioned on the September 2025 launch page, including a 24-month quality-assurance offer and one free screen replacement within six months, were event-specific and should not be treated as current benefits.
What should global Xiaomi owners do now?
First, identify the exact model and firmware region. Second, compare the device with Xiaomi’s global list rather than a China-only list. Third, check the official updater and wait for the stable regional OTA if the model is eligible. Finally, update companion apps and judge the result by the features the device can actually support.
The decisive evidence is the device-specific OTA and the relevant regional Xiaomi support channel—not an old article calling HyperOS 3 an upcoming launch, a China-market schedule, or a social-media list that omits model and firmware details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Xiaomi phone on the HyperOS 3 global list definitely receive the update?
A Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone on Xiaomi’s global HyperOS 3 list was included in the published rollout plan, but delivery is not necessarily simultaneous or guaranteed for every regional variant. Model, firmware branch, carrier approval, region, and rollout changes can affect the OTA date.
Can a Chinese Xiaomi phone install the global HyperOS 3 update?
A Chinese-market Xiaomi phone does not automatically qualify for the global HyperOS 3 update. Chinese and global devices can use different firmware, hardware, services, certifications, and bootloader rules, so owners should not flash an unrelated regional ROM without accepting substantial data, support, and boot risks.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallWhy are some HyperOS 3 features missing after the update?
Some HyperOS 3 features require a supported model, region, language, account, or hardware configuration, and some require separate Gallery, Mi Canvas, Mi Fitness, or Google app updates. Xiaomi’s advertised feature set is not universal across every HyperOS 3 device.
Should I buy a new Xiaomi phone because my HyperOS 3 update is late?
Usually no. If the exact device is on Xiaomi’s official global list, waiting for the correct regional OTA is more sensible than upgrading solely because the update is delayed. Consider a new phone when the current model is not listed, lacks required hardware, has reached the end of support, or no longer meets your needs.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Xiaomi HyperOS 3 is not an upcoming single-day global launch. Xiaomi scheduled a staged global rollout from October 2025 through March 2026, and actual availability remains tied to the exact device and regional firmware. Check Xiaomi’s official global list and your device’s OTA, install the correct stable update, and do not assume that a China schedule or a new product advertisement applies to your global Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO device.
