For a U.S. Wix Editor website, the practical starting price in 2026 is $17 per month when billed annually, but Wix charges the full $204 annual amount upfront. Core costs $348 per year and is generally the lowest tier for accepting payments, bookings, or selling products. Business costs $468 per year, while Business Elite costs $1,908 per year. Taxes, domain renewals, email, paid apps, and payment-processing fees can all increase the real cost.

There are two similarly named Wix products to distinguish before comparing prices: Wix site plans are the hosting and website plans covered here—Free, Light, Core, Business, and Business Elite—whereas the separate Wix Pricing Plans app lets a business sell memberships, packages, and recurring subscriptions. The app is not a replacement for a site plan, and its current transaction-fee terms should be checked separately.

Price date and location: The U.S. prices below were checked on August 10, 2026. Wix can change prices, promotions, included features, and renewal rates. Your logged-in Wix pricing page and final checkout are authoritative, especially because taxes and availability vary by billing address, location, currency, and checkout context.

Wix plan prices at a glance

These are Wix Editor site plans. The annual-equivalent figure is the advertised monthly rate for an annual commitment; it is not a monthly installment. With annual billing, Wix charges the complete annual amount at purchase.

Plan Annual-equivalent price Annual amount charged upfront Monthly billing Best fit
Free $0/month $0 $0 Testing, drafts, hobbies, and temporary sites
Light $17/month $204/year $24/month Portfolios, blogs, and informational sites
Core $29/month $348/year $36/month Small businesses, bookings, and basic stores
Business $39/month $468/year $46/month Growing stores and larger service businesses
Business Elite $159/month $1,908/year $172/month High-volume businesses and advanced requirements
Enterprise Custom Custom Custom Large organizations and multisite requirements

At these published rates, annual billing costs less than paying monthly for 12 months:

Plan 12 months of monthly billing Annual billing Nominal annual saving
Light $288 $204 $84
Core $432 $348 $84
Business $552 $468 $84
Business Elite $2,064 $1,908 $156

That saving comes with a commitment: the entire year is paid upfront, and a promotional first-year price may renew at Wix’s standard rate. Applicable taxes are calculated using the billing address and shown before payment; they are not included in the headline prices above.

What each Wix Editor plan actually includes

Free: useful for building, not usually for a professional launch

The Free plan requires no subscription payment, but the trade-offs are substantial:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Your site uses a Wix-branded URL rather than a custom domain.
  • Wix branding is displayed on the site.
  • Storage is limited to up to 500 MB.
  • Bandwidth is limited to 1 GB.
  • You cannot connect a custom domain or accept online payments through the site.

Free is a sensible development, testing, hobby, or temporary tier. It is rarely appropriate for a business that needs a branded domain, a polished presentation, or online checkout. Wix documents the resource limits in its storage and bandwidth guide.

Light: the lowest-cost branded website

Light costs $17 per month on annual billing, or $204 paid upfront for a year. Monthly billing is $24. It includes:

  • 2 GB of storage.
  • Unlimited bandwidth.
  • Connection of a custom domain.
  • Removal of Wix branding.

Light is suitable for a portfolio, blog, landing page, brochure site, informational website, or simple service business that uses the site to generate inquiries. It does not accept online payments. If you need to collect deposits, sell products, sell paid bookings, or sell paid memberships through Wix, Light is not sufficient.

Core: the practical entry point for payments and bookings

Core costs $29 per month with annual billing, or $348 upfront for the year. Monthly billing is $36. It provides 50 GB of storage, unlimited bandwidth, and up to five collaborators. Core also supports:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Online payments.
  • Basic eCommerce.
  • Bookings.
  • Customer accounts.
  • Basic marketing functionality.

For most small businesses, Core is the lowest Wix Editor tier that can support a basic store, paid service bookings, customer accounts, or paid plans. The site-plan price enables those capabilities; it does not eliminate payment-processing charges, app charges, taxes, or other costs.

Business: more room for a growing operation

Business costs $39 per month with annual billing, or $468 charged upfront. Monthly billing is $46. It includes 100 GB of storage, unlimited bandwidth, and up to 10 collaborators, along with standard marketing and eCommerce tools.

Business is a reasonable upgrade when Core’s storage, team limit, or standard commerce capabilities are becoming restrictive. Wix also lists automated sales-tax functionality with usage limits. Check the current plan comparison and checkout against your account and sales-tax requirements rather than assuming every automated tax feature is unlimited or included without restrictions.

Business Elite: an expensive scale tier

Business Elite costs $159 per month on annual billing, or $1,908 upfront for one year. Monthly billing is $172. It includes:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Unlimited storage and bandwidth.
  • Up to 100 collaborators.
  • Advanced marketing and eCommerce functionality.
  • Advanced analytics, developer, and scaling capabilities.

Business Elite is intended for high-volume businesses or sites with genuinely demanding collaboration, commerce, developer, or scaling needs. It is a major jump from Business: $1,440 more per year at the annual-equivalent rates. Do not choose it merely because it is the top plan or because “unlimited” sounds safer; compare actual storage, team, traffic, automation, and developer requirements first.

Enterprise: custom pricing

Enterprise is aimed at larger organizations and multisite requirements. Wix does not publish it as a standard fixed-price plan in the public comparison. Pricing, support, security, and contractual terms must be obtained from Wix.

Wix Editor is not Wix Studio

The prices in this article apply to sites built with the Wix Editor. Wix Studio sites use separate Studio plans with different names, limits, and prices. If your account or agency project is in Wix Studio, do not use the Editor table to estimate the cost. Compare the plan offered in the Studio account instead. Wix explains the distinction in its Premium plan pricing documentation.

Which Wix plan should you choose?

Your situation Likely choice Why
Draft, experiment, hobby, or temporary site Free No subscription cost if a Wix URL and branding are acceptable
Portfolio, blog, brochure site, or landing page Light Custom domain and no Wix branding without paying for commerce features
Freelancer or local service business taking payments or bookings Core Online payments and bookings are available at the lowest practical Editor tier
Basic online store Core Supports basic eCommerce, provided storage and collaboration limits are adequate
Growing store or service company Business More storage, more collaborators, and standard commerce and marketing tools
Membership or subscription business Core or Business, plus a fee check The site needs payment capability and may use the separate Pricing Plans app
High-volume or highly collaborative business Business Elite, conditionally Advanced functionality, 100 collaborators, and unlimited storage may justify the price
Several independent websites One suitable plan per site A site plan applies to one site; it is not an account-wide license

A simple decision rule works well: choose Light if you only need a professional informational site, choose Core if Wix must process payments or bookings, choose Business when Core’s limits or standard business tools are genuinely insufficient, and consider Business Elite only after quantifying the advanced features you will use.

The real cost of a Wix website: fees beyond the plan

“Hidden fees” is shorthand for costs that are not included in the headline site-plan card. Wix discloses most of them somewhere, but they may appear in separate subscription screens, at checkout, on a payment statement, or only after a promotion ends.

1. Taxes

The advertised plan price is not necessarily the final amount. Wix calculates applicable taxes according to your billing address and displays them before payment. A U.S. buyer should therefore treat $204, $348, $468, and $1,908 as pre-tax plan prices, not guaranteed all-in totals.

2. Domain renewal after the first year

Selected annual or multi-year plans include a one-year domain voucher. This is not a permanently free domain. The voucher applies only to a qualifying new domain, must be redeemed within 60 days of the plan purchase, and does not cover:

  • A domain you already own.
  • A domain purchased before the qualifying plan.
  • Future renewal years.
  • Additional registration years.
  • Optional privacy or security features.

Renewal pricing depends on the domain extension, registration period, privacy selection, local currency, and applicable taxes. Before buying or redeeming a domain, check the exact amount in Premium Subscriptions → View payment details and review Wix’s domain renewal pricing guide.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you already own a domain, you can generally connect it to Wix without purchasing it from Wix. Keeping registration with an independent registrar may be cheaper or provide different management features, but compare renewal prices and transfer conditions rather than assuming either option is always better.

3. Domain privacy and DNSSEC

Private registration and DNSSEC may be additional domain options. Availability depends on the top-level domain; not every extension supports private registration. Wix states that DNSSEC with private registration is available in non-EU countries and for .com domains, subject to its domain rules. Check the options and prices for the exact extension you plan to use in Wix’s domain privacy documentation and checkout.

4. Business email is separate

A Wix site plan does not automatically include a professional mailbox such as hello@example.com. Wix sells Google Workspace business email separately, with Business Starter, Business Standard, and Business Plus options.

You must already own and connect a domain before purchasing the mailbox through Wix. Wix does not publish one universal business-email price because the amount depends on the Workspace plan, billing cycle, region, and number of users. Treat third-party claims about a fixed per-user price as estimates, not a guaranteed current Wix price; check the logged-in email checkout.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

5. Paid apps

Apps in the Wix App Market can add monthly, annual, or one-time charges. An app may be free to install while particular features require payment, and a promotion may apply only for a limited period. App subscriptions are separate from the site plan.

To review or cancel an app subscription, go to Premium Subscriptions → More Actions → Cancel App → Cancel auto renew. Deleting an app from the site is not necessarily the same as canceling its billing subscription, so verify the subscription status afterward. Wix provides the cancellation procedure in its app subscription help page.

6. Payment-processing fees

Core and higher plans can enable online payments, but payment processing is a variable cost of selling. It is not included in the Wix site-plan price. For U.S. Wix Payments transactions, the published rates include:

Payment type Published fee
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and other non-American Express cards 2.9% + $0.30
American Express 3.7% + $0.30
PayPal through Wix Payments 3.49% + $0.49
Pay Later 4.99% + $0.49
Afterpay, Affirm, and Klarna 6% + $0.30
Cross-border payments Additional 1.5% where applicable
Multi-currency transactions Additional 1% currency-conversion fee, plus processing and any applicable cross-border fee
Chargebacks $15 Wix Payments fee; PayPal chargebacks through Wix Payments can be $20

For example, one $100 non-Amex card sale would produce a processing charge of $3.20 at the listed rate. A $100 sale is not charged a $3.20 monthly Wix fee; the amount is deducted or accounted for per transaction. Your actual cost depends on order value, payment method, cross-border status, currency, refunds, and chargebacks. The original Wix Payments processing fee is not returned when you issue a refund. Check the current Wix Payments U.S. fee schedule before forecasting margins.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

7. Pricing Plans app fees: verify this before selling memberships

The separate Wix Pricing Plans app is listed as free to install and lets businesses sell memberships, packages, subscriptions, and recurring plans. That does not mean every transaction connected with it is necessarily cost-free.

Important 2026 verification warning

Public user reports reproduced an alleged Wix notice saying that new transaction fees would apply to Pricing Plans app payments after the next plan renewal following March 10, 2026. The reported schedule was 4% for Core/Standard, 2% for Business/Plus, and 0% for Business Elite/Elite/Enterprise. However, the fee schedule was not independently confirmed in a publicly indexed official Wix fee page during the research for this guide. The Wix App Market page confirms that users have complained about a newly added charge, but it does not establish that reported schedule as a universal current rule.

If you sell memberships, packages, or subscriptions, check the app’s current pricing and terms, your site’s Premium Subscriptions page, and your latest settlement report. Ask Wix Customer Care to confirm the applicable fee in writing. Do not assume the reported fee applies to every Wix store order or every Wix Payments transaction, and do not build a membership-business forecast on the public report alone.

Recurring Pricing Plans subscriptions also create operational considerations. Wix says active recurring plans must be canceled before changing payment providers, after which customers may need to purchase again. If a customer’s recurring payment fails, the customer’s plan can be canceled and they may need to update payment details and repurchase.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

8. Auto-renewal and early billing

Wix site plans, domains, business email, and third-party apps are separate subscriptions. Wix may consolidate multiple subscription charges into one payment, so a larger-than-expected Wix charge is not necessarily a site-plan price increase.

Current billing timing is different for each product:

  • Monthly site plans are charged on the expiration date.
  • Yearly and multi-year site plans may be charged up to three weeks before expiration.
  • Domains are charged 30 days before expiration.
  • Business email is charged 30 days before expiration.
  • Third-party apps are charged on their expiration date.

Discounted purchases renew at the standard rate rather than the promotional rate. Review every subscription independently instead of assuming that canceling the site plan also cancels the domain, email, or apps.

9. More than one website means more than one site plan

A Wix site plan applies to one site only. If you operate three separate Wix websites, you generally need three separate site-plan subscriptions. At the published annual Core rate, three sites would mean $348 × 3 = $1,044 per year before taxes and add-ons. Each site can also have its own domain, email, apps, and renewal dates.

10. Native mobile-app costs

A native mobile app built and published through Wix requires a separate Mobile App Premium plan. The ordinary Wix site plan does not include Apple or Google developer-account registration fees. Wix lists Apple’s developer fee as starting at $99 per year and Google Play’s as a $25 one-time fee, subject to the app stores’ current terms. See the Wix Mobile App Premium plan documentation before budgeting for an app.

Illustrative total-cost scenarios

The examples below show how to think about cost. They intentionally leave variable prices—such as tax, email, domain renewal, and app subscriptions—as variables because Wix calculates them from your account, location, product, or usage.

Simple portfolio or brochure site

A qualifying annual Light plan starts with a fixed plan cost of $204 for the first year before tax. If you redeem an eligible new-domain voucher within 60 days, the first domain-registration year may be covered. Future domain renewal, privacy options, and professional email are separate. If the site is still being designed, building on Free first postpones the $204 commitment.

Small service business

A business that needs a custom domain but only collects inquiries can often use Light at $204 annually before tax and add-ons. If it accepts payments, deposits, or bookings through Wix, Core is the more appropriate starting point at $348 annually before tax. Add Wix Payments fees to each sale and budget separately for email, domain renewal, and any booking, marketing, or automation apps.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Basic online store

Core provides the lowest practical Editor tier for a basic store and costs $348 annually at the published U.S. rate. A store’s real cost is:

$348 site plan + taxes + domain/email/apps + payment-processing fees + any applicable Pricing Plans or other transaction fees.

Processing expense is driven by revenue and payment mix. For non-Amex card payments, a simple estimate is sales × 2.9% + $0.30 × number of transactions, before any cross-border, currency-conversion, refund, or chargeback effects.

Growing store or service operation

Business costs $468 annually before tax and may be justified by 100 GB of storage, up to 10 collaborators, and the standard marketing and eCommerce tools. The extra $120 per year compared with Core should be tied to a real limitation or needed feature. Paying for the Business label alone does not reduce payment-processing fees or guarantee that every tax automation feature is unlimited.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Membership or subscription business

Start with Core or Business based on the site’s payment, storage, collaboration, and commerce needs, then separately evaluate the Pricing Plans app. Include ordinary payment-processing fees and verify whether the account has any app-specific transaction fee. Because public reports about a 2026 Pricing Plans fee are not independently verified, obtain written confirmation from Wix and inspect settlement reports before committing to a high-volume membership model.

Three separate sites

One plan is not shared across an entire Wix account. Three sites on Light would be $612 annually at the listed rate; three sites on Core would be $1,044 annually; three sites on Business would be $1,404 annually. These figures exclude tax, domains, email, apps, and transaction fees.

Ways to save money on Wix

  1. Build on Free first. Keep the site in development until its design, pages, forms, and content are ready. Upgrade only when you need a custom domain, no Wix branding, or payments. Free still has branding, a Wix URL, and storage and bandwidth limits.
  2. Buy the lowest plan that meets the requirement. A portfolio normally needs Light. Payment acceptance generally starts at Core. Do not buy Business Elite for storage or collaborators that will never be used.
  3. Compare annual savings with commitment risk. At the listed U.S. rates, annual billing saves $84 on Light, Core, and Business and $156 on Business Elite compared with 12 monthly payments. Monthly billing may be better for a seasonal project, short test, or uncertain business because it avoids paying a full year upfront.
  4. Use the domain voucher correctly. Confirm that the plan is eligible, buy or redeem the new domain after purchasing the plan, and complete redemption within 60 days. The voucher cannot normally be applied retroactively to a domain bought before the plan and does not pay for an existing domain’s renewal.
  5. Check future domain pricing before accepting a free first year. Compare the exact extension’s renewal rate and optional privacy or security charges. A no-cost first registration can still lead to a paid renewal next year.
  6. Compare Wix domain registration with an independent registrar. Wix lets you connect a domain you already own. Keeping the domain elsewhere can make sense if renewal pricing, DNS controls, or portfolio management are better, but check transfer and support requirements first.
  7. Audit paid apps. Review Premium Subscriptions regularly. Cancel unused app subscriptions through the subscription controls, not merely by deleting the app from the site. Also check whether a free-app promotion expires after one year.
  8. Use the 14-day refund policy as a test period, not as a free trial. Wix says it does not offer a traditional Premium-plan free trial. A new Premium or Studio plan purchase is generally eligible for a 14-day refund, but the policy does not apply to renewals or upgrades of an existing plan. Verify the current refund policy before relying on it.
  9. Turn off auto-renewal when you buy if you do not intend to continue. After the first 14 days, cancellation generally stops future renewal while keeping the plan active until its expiration. Cancellation within the refund window deactivates paid features immediately.
  10. Check the final checkout total. Do not budget from the plan card alone. Review taxes, the selected billing cycle, domain options, privacy or security choices, app add-ons, vouchers, and the renewal information shown at checkout.
  11. Model payment fees separately. For a store, the site plan is only the fixed platform cost. Forecast card, PayPal, buy-now-pay-later, cross-border, currency-conversion, refund, and chargeback costs based on your expected payment mix.
  12. Verify Pricing Plans app charges before selling subscriptions. Review current terms, the app listing, your Premium Subscriptions page, and settlement reports. Ask Wix for account-specific written confirmation if the fee affects your margins.

How to avoid Wix renewal surprises

Before purchasing

  1. Open the Wix pricing page while logged into the correct Wix account.
  2. Confirm that the site is built with Wix Editor rather than Wix Studio.
  3. Verify the site name before paying. Plans apply to one site, and buying for the wrong site can create an avoidable support problem; plans may be reassignable in some situations, but do not rely on that.
  4. Select monthly or annual billing deliberately.
  5. Record the first-year total, tax, renewal date, displayed renewal price, domain cost, domain renewal estimate, privacy or DNSSEC options, and any included app or domain vouchers.
  6. Save the receipt and plan details.

After purchasing

  1. Open Premium Subscriptions.
  2. Review the Upcoming payment column.
  3. Open View payment details for the site plan and domain.
  4. Review separate entries for business email and every paid app.
  5. Turn off auto-renewal for anything you do not want to continue.
  6. Set a calendar reminder at least 45 days before renewal. Wix may charge annual site plans up to three weeks early and domains and business email 30 days early.

Wix may combine several subscriptions into one charge. If your card statement shows an unexpectedly large Wix payment, inspect the invoices and individual subscription records before assuming the site-plan rate changed.

Common Wix pricing mistakes and what to do

“I upgraded Light, but my site still cannot take payments.”

That is expected: Light does not support online payments. Upgrade to Core or higher if your site must collect money through Wix, then account for payment-processing fees.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“My domain voucher is missing.”

Check whether you bought monthly billing, selected an ineligible plan, purchased the domain first, or are trying to apply the voucher to a renewal. The voucher is for a qualifying new domain, must be redeemed within 60 days, and is not retroactive.

“I canceled, but the site still works.”

After the refund period, cancellation generally turns off renewal rather than ending the paid term immediately. The site remains active until the expiration date. During the 14-day refund period, cancellation can deactivate paid features immediately because the purchase is being refunded.

“My site suddenly lost its custom domain.”

When the paid plan expires or is deactivated, the site reverts to its Wix URL and branding. Check whether the site plan expired, whether auto-renewal failed, and whether the domain itself is a separate expired subscription.

“Wix charged more than the plan price.”

Open Premium Subscriptions and invoices. The charge may include a site plan, domain, business email, or paid app that renewed together. Also check tax and any add-ons selected during checkout.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“I want to change the payment provider for recurring memberships.”

Active recurring Pricing Plans subscriptions may need to be canceled before changing providers. Customers may then need to purchase their plans again. Plan this migration before switching providers so existing members are not unexpectedly interrupted.

“A customer’s recurring payment failed.”

When payment is not received, the customer’s recurring plan can be canceled. The customer may need to update payment details and purchase again. Monitor failed payments rather than assuming a subscription continues indefinitely.

“A premium app was free when I started.”

Some selected third-party apps may be free for one year with an eligible annual plan, but promotions have eligibility and redemption deadlines. Check the app’s subscription status and renewal price before the promotional period ends.

Older Wix pricing articles may be out of date

Wix has changed its plan names and lineup. Articles referring to Combo, Unlimited, VIP, Business Basic, Business Unlimited, or Business VIP may describe an older pricing structure. For Wix Editor, the current lineup covered by this guide is Free, Light, Core, Business, and Business Elite, with Enterprise handled separately. Always compare the plan names and prices shown in your current Wix account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Wix really free in 2026?

Yes, Wix offers a Free tier with no subscription payment. It uses a Wix-branded URL, displays Wix branding, provides up to 500 MB of storage and 1 GB of bandwidth, and cannot connect a custom domain or accept online payments. It is best for testing, drafts, hobbies, and temporary sites.

What is the cheapest Wix plan that accepts payments?

Core is generally the lowest Wix Editor tier for online payments, basic eCommerce, bookings, customer accounts, and paid plans. Its published U.S. price is $29 per month on annual billing, charged as $348 upfront for the year, or $36 per month with monthly billing. Payment-processing fees are additional.

Does Wix include a free domain and business email?

Some qualifying annual or multi-year plans include a voucher for one year of a qualifying new domain, but it does not cover existing domains, renewals, or later registration years. Business email, such as hello@example.com, is sold separately through Google Workspace and has account-specific pricing.

Is Wix annual billing charged monthly?

No. The advertised annual-equivalent rate is a monthly equivalent for comparison. For example, Light at $17 per month on annual billing is charged as $204 upfront for the year. Annual billing is cheaper at the listed rates but renews according to the then-current standard price.

Free tools Windows power users keep installed

Does canceling a Wix site plan cancel domains, email, and apps?

No. Wix site plans, domains, business email, and third-party apps are separate subscriptions. Review Premium Subscriptions and cancel each unwanted renewal separately. Wix may combine multiple renewals into one charge, so inspect the invoice details.

Does Wix charge an extra fee for memberships and subscriptions?

The separate Wix Pricing Plans app is listed as free to install, but public 2026 reports allege new plan-dependent transaction fees. The reported schedule was not independently verified in a publicly indexed official Wix fee page during research. Membership sellers should check current terms, account notices, settlement reports, and obtain written confirmation from Wix.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Free is the cheapest way to test Wix, Light is the best value for a basic professional site, Core is the practical starting point for payments or bookings, and Business is suited to a growing operation. Business Elite is worth considering only when advanced functionality, unlimited storage, scaling needs, or a large team justify its $1,908 annual-equivalent price. For an accurate budget, add taxes, domain renewal, email, apps, payment-processing costs, and any verified membership transaction fees—and check renewal timing before the promotional first year ends.
