Start with the company’s official Investor Relations website. Open its Quarterly Results, Financials, or Events & Presentations archive, select the correct fiscal quarter, and download the earnings release, presentation (if provided), and filing links. For a U.S. SEC-reporting issuer, cross-check or find the same period in the SEC’s free EDGAR Company Search: look for the interim 10-Q, an earnings-related 8-K, and any exhibits. The release, 10-Q, and slide deck are different documents, and a company is not required to publish a separate presentation PDF.
What should you have before searching?
Identify the exact legal company, ticker, and fiscal period first. “Third quarter 2026” can end on a different date from calendar September 30, and a similarly named subsidiary or foreign listing can lead to the wrong archive. Record the quarter-end date shown in the company’s release or filing.
- Company identity: legal name, ticker and, for EDGAR, CIK if available.
- Fiscal period: fiscal year, quarter label and reporting-period end date.
- Document goal: announcement (earnings release), formal interim report (10-Q), management slides (presentation), or call replay (webcast).
- Issuer status: whether the company files with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. EDGAR applies only to SEC-reporting issuers.
Keep the quarter-end date beside you while searching. It prevents selecting a calendar-quarter result when the company uses a 52/53-week or otherwise shifted fiscal year.
How do I find quarterly results on the company’s Investor Relations site?
The issuer site is usually the fastest route to the complete event bundle because it may place the release, slides, webcast and regulatory filing links on one dated page.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Confirm the official domain. Reach Investor Relations from the company’s main website or a filing you already trust. Avoid search results for news aggregators, similarly named businesses or unofficial mirrors.
- Open the investor archive. Look for labels such as Quarterly Results, Financials, Events & Presentations, News or SEC Filings. Menus and names differ by issuer.
- Select the fiscal year and quarter. Check both the quarter label and the period-end date. Do not assume fiscal Q1 is January–March.
- Open each document link. An Earnings Release or Press Release is the announcement; a Presentation or Slides link is the deck; a 10-Q or SEC Filing link points to the formal report when supplied.
- Save the supplied file format. Use the page’s download control or your browser’s save command. If the filing opens as HTML, save it as HTML or PDF only if your browser creates a faithful copy; do not describe an HTML filing as an issuer-provided PDF.
- Record the date and period. Keep the issuer’s publication date, quarter-end date and filename with the saved file so later amendments are distinguishable.
Issuer archives vary: some show one page per quarter, while others separate releases, presentations and call events. A webcast player is not a slide deck, and an event listing does not prove that a PDF exists.
What does a complete event page look like?
A dated announcement can point to several related materials. For example, Mastercard’s October 29, 2026 notice says its third-quarter 2026 financial results and related materials are available on the company website; its linked presentation is a dated PDF. This illustrates the workflow, not a guarantee that every issuer uses the same labels or publishes slides. See the Mastercard investor announcement and the October 29, 2026 presentation PDF.
Where is the investor presentation PDF?
Look in the quarter’s Events & Presentations entry or beside the earnings release under Quarterly Results. Search the issuer site for the quarter label plus “earnings presentation,” “investor presentation,” “slides” or “financial results.”

- Open the specific earnings-call or results event, not a generic investor overview.
- Inspect every attachment and expandable section; a slide link may be listed separately from the webcast.
- Open the file and verify its title page, fiscal quarter and presentation date.
- Use the displayed download icon or browser save function, then retain the original filename.
Some companies present prepared remarks only through a webcast or publish an HTML page instead of slides. The SEC does not require every issuer to attach an earnings deck, so an absent PDF is not evidence that you searched incorrectly.
What is the difference between an earnings release, a 10-Q, an 8-K and a presentation?
They answer different questions. The release communicates headline results, the 10-Q is the formal quarterly filing, an 8-K reports a specified current event such as an earnings announcement, and a presentation organizes management’s selected narrative and graphics.

| Document | What it normally contains | Where to look | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Earnings release | Revenue, profit measures, selected operating metrics, guidance or commentary and often tables. | Issuer Investor Relations site; commonly attached to an earnings 8-K. | It is an announcement, not the full periodic filing. |
| Form 10-Q | Unaudited quarterly financial statements, notes and management’s discussion for a domestic SEC issuer. | EDGAR and often the issuer’s SEC-filings page. | It may be filed after the initial release and is not used for fourth-quarter results. |
| Form 8-K | A report of a specified current event; earnings releases commonly appear under Item 2.02, with related material under Item 9.01. | EDGAR filing details and exhibits. | It can summarize results before the 10-Q is available. |
| Investor presentation | Company-produced slides highlighting results, strategy, metrics and outlook. | Issuer Events & Presentations or quarterly-results archive; occasionally an EDGAR exhibit. | No universal SEC rule requires a separate deck or PDF. |
The SEC’s EDGAR guide explains that search results identify filings by form type and appear in chronological order. Use the form type and reporting period to confirm that a document matches your quarter.
How do I use EDGAR to find the quarter?
EDGAR is the free fallback and a useful cross-check for companies that report to the SEC. It supplies formal filings and their exhibits, but its browser-formatted documents may not look like a downloadable report.
Recommended Free Tools
- Open Company Search. Use the SEC’s EDGAR search and enter the company name, ticker or CIK.
- Verify the issuer. Check the legal name, central index key and filing history so you are not viewing a similarly named company.
- Filter by period and form. For a domestic interim quarter, locate 10-Q. Also look for an earnings-related 8-K, especially one containing Item 2.02.
- Check dates. Compare the filing date and the “period of report” with the quarter-end date. A recent filing can describe an earlier fiscal period.
- Open the filing-details page. EDGAR’s index lists the primary document and exhibits. If a search result opens one exhibit directly, return to the parent filing-details page to see all associated documents.
- Inspect exhibits. An earnings release may be Exhibit 99.1; a slide deck, if attached, can appear as another exhibit. The exhibit list is evidence of what was filed, not a promise that a deck exists.
- Save the original format. EDGAR may provide HTML, text or an attached file. Keep the format supplied by the SEC and label it accurately.
The SEC’s guide is dated September 4, 2018, so interface labels can change even though the basic search logic remains: identify the issuer, form, filing date and reporting period.
Where are presentation slides in EDGAR?
Open the quarter’s 8-K filing-details page and review its exhibit index. If a presentation was filed, an exhibit link may lead to a PDF or another file type. EDGAR does not establish that every issuer must attach its slides, and many companies host the deck only on their Investor Relations site.
When a direct search result lands on one exhibit, use the filing’s parent page to inspect the complete list. This also helps you distinguish a release exhibit from a presentation and identify any amendment.

Why can’t I find a Q4 10-Q?
Domestic SEC issuers generally report the fourth quarter and full year through the annual 10-K, not a fourth-quarter 10-Q. Look for the Q4 earnings release or 8-K first, then the annual 10-K when it is filed.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →For the first three quarters, a 10-Q is the normal interim report for a domestic issuer. The earnings release can appear before that filing, so a newly announced quarter may have an 8-K and release while the 10-Q is still pending.
What should I do if the presentation or filing is missing?
Use a targeted sequence rather than assuming the document was never published.
- Recheck the issuer archive. Search both Quarterly Results and Events & Presentations, including the individual earnings-call entry.
- Check the 8-K exhibits. A release or deck may be attached even when the Investor Relations page links only to the announcement.
- Wait for the periodic report. A fresh release may precede the 10-Q; revisit EDGAR after the issuer’s expected filing window.
- Look for an amendment. A form ending in /A is an amended filing. Compare its filing date and documents with the original.
- Search alternate labels. Try “financial results,” “earnings materials,” “supplemental,” “analyst presentation” or “results webcast.”
- State the result precisely. If no deck is linked on the issuer site or attached in EDGAR, report that the presentation was not located; do not imply that the company was required to publish one.
Do not treat a webcast URL as a PDF, and do not infer that a missing slide deck means the quarterly results are unavailable. The release and filing can still provide the primary disclosures.
How do foreign private issuers and non-SEC companies report?
SEC form conventions depend on the issuer. A foreign private issuer that reports to the SEC may use Form 6-K for current communications and Form 20-F for annual reporting rather than the domestic 10-Q/10-K pattern.

For a company outside SEC reporting, begin with its official Investor Relations site and the regulator or exchange named by that issuer. The SEC workflow is not a universal replacement for every country’s filing system; confirm the company’s jurisdiction before applying U.S. form names.
Issuer site or EDGAR: which route should you use?
Both routes lead to original company disclosures, but they optimize for different tasks.
| Need | Issuer Investor Relations site | SEC EDGAR |
|---|---|---|
| Find release, slides and webcast together | Usually the better starting point; event pages often group them. | May separate the release and exhibits across a filing index. |
| Obtain a formal quarterly report | May link to it or redirect to the regulator. | Primary route for a domestic issuer’s 10-Q. |
| Download a polished PDF | Often offers a direct PDF when the company created one. | Provides the filed format; the main document may be HTML. |
| Confirm form type, period and amendments | Labels can be simplified or incomplete. | Filing details show form, filing date, period and /A amendments. |
| Applicability | Works for any company with an investor site. | Only for issuers that file with the SEC. |
Start on the issuer site when your goal is the complete earnings event. Use EDGAR when you need the authoritative filed report, an exhibit, or a cross-check on dates and amendments.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How can I verify that I downloaded the right file?
- Match the fiscal quarter and period-end date on the document’s cover or title page.
- Confirm the legal issuer name and, for EDGAR, the form type and filing date.
- Distinguish “results available” announcements from the actual release, 10-Q or slide file.
- Keep the original URL, filename and access date in your notes.
- Check whether the filing is marked /A and retain the amended version when it supersedes the original.
- Preserve the source format: HTML, text, PDF or another attached file.
These checks matter when a company has multiple listings, restates a filing or posts several documents for the same earnings call.
Can I download and archive the files for later use?
Yes. Save the issuer-provided PDF or EDGAR attachment, and use the browser’s save function for HTML filings. Store the quarter-end date, publication date, form type and source URL beside each file. If the site later replaces a document, your metadata will show exactly which version you retained.

For analysis, keep the release, 10-Q or equivalent filing, and presentation as separate files. Their numbers and descriptions can differ because each serves a different disclosure purpose; combining them into one renamed file makes later verification harder.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long after an earnings release does the 10-Q appear?
There is no single universal interval. An issuer can announce results in an 8-K before filing the full 10-Q, so check the company’s filing history and return to EDGAR rather than treating the release date as the 10-Q date.
Can I get quarterly results without creating an SEC account?
Yes. EDGAR is a free public service, and issuer Investor Relations pages generally provide public releases and presentations without an account. A webcast registration, if requested, is separate from access to the filed documents.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
How do I know whether a PDF is an official investor presentation?
Verify that it is linked from the issuer’s Investor Relations archive or listed as an exhibit on an SEC filing-details page. The title page should identify the company, fiscal period and presentation date; a third-party copy alone is not sufficient confirmation.
What if the company uses a 52-week fiscal calendar?
Use the period-end date printed in the release or filing instead of mapping the quarter to calendar months. Search the issuer archive and EDGAR by that date and fiscal-year label.
