Clearpath Robotics remains part of Rockwell Automation, but the available announcements point to two distinct directions: continued research and education products under the Clearpath name, and expansion of OTTO Motors as part of Rockwell’s factory-automation business. Husky A300, announced in October 2024, is the clearest recent sign of new Clearpath research-platform development. Rockwell’s more recent moves—OTTO robot assembly in Milwaukee and an integrated production-logistics showcase—are industrial developments, not confirmation of a new Clearpath research robot.
No specific next Clearpath research robot or launch date has been announced in the public material cited here. The best-supported outlook is continuity alongside broader industrial expansion, with the detailed research-robot roadmap still unconfirmed.
How Clearpath fits into Rockwell Automation
Rockwell Automation completed its acquisition of Clearpath Robotics on October 2, 2023. The acquired business included both Clearpath’s research division and OTTO Motors, its industrial mobile-robotics business. Rockwell placed both under its Intelligent Devices operating segment and described the industrial rationale as connecting and automating material movement across manufacturing facilities. Rockwell’s acquisition announcement distinguishes the two businesses.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThat distinction matters when interpreting what comes next. Clearpath’s research platforms and OTTO’s factory autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) serve different buyers and tasks. Growth in Rockwell’s industrial logistics strategy does not, by itself, establish that Clearpath’s research roadmap has merged with OTTO’s product plan.

What Clearpath’s leadership said after the acquisition
In a 2023 IEEE Spectrum interview, Clearpath cofounder Ryan Gariepy said that both Clearpath and OTTO remained in existence, had their own roadmaps, and were brands Rockwell wanted to retain. He described the immediate approach as continuing business as usual. Those comments document the leadership view at that time; they are not a current roadmap or a binding guarantee.
Gariepy also said Rockwell’s scale in sales, deployment, support, and supply chain could help Clearpath take larger risks and focus more on product development. On long-term support, he suggested Rockwell’s history of supporting products could offer researchers greater stability. These were expectations expressed in 2023, not a published warranty or product-lifecycle commitment.

Where Rockwell and OTTO are expanding
OTTO robot assembly in Milwaukee
On October 30, 2025, OTTO by Rockwell said AMRs had begun rolling off a new 25,000-square-foot production space at Rockwell’s Milwaukee headquarters. The site was assembling OTTO 600 and OTTO 1200 models. The announcement said Canadian facilities would continue making robots, while Milwaukee added production capacity and brought assembly closer to U.S. customers. OTTO describes these robots as moving heavy materials on factory floors. The announcement also says each AMR undergoes more than 15 miles of driving before shipment; that is a company-reported pre-shipment procedure, not an independent performance test.
Production logistics as a connected system
Rockwell’s April 6, 2026, announcement of a MODEX showcase described an end-to-end production-logistics system combining Emulate3D digital-twin simulation, Rockwell orchestration software, OTTO AMRs, and Kalypso consulting. The strategy is to connect machines, material movement, and systems across a plant rather than treat each automation tool as a standalone deployment. It is evidence of Rockwell’s industrial direction, not a Clearpath research-robot launch plan. Rockwell’s MODEX 2026 announcement describes the showcase.

The same announcement cites a Material Handling Industry report projecting robotics and automation adoption to rise from 41% to 83% within five years, and says 63% of respondents assigned those technologies the highest potential to create competitive advantage. These are report figures cited by Rockwell, not observed outcomes. Rockwell also reported a 20% increase in production rate at an unnamed major automotive OEM after a recent deployment; the announcement does not name the customer or describe the study method, so that result should not be treated as a typical expected gain.
Which Clearpath-associated platform fits which job?
| Platform | Best-supported fit | What it is not |
|---|---|---|
| Husky A300 | Rugged research field work, including outdoor and industrial environments; Clearpath also describes the Husky AMP autonomous configuration. | Not evidence of a confirmed future model or a guaranteed commercial deployment outcome. |
| TurtleBot 4 | Education, research, and entry into ROS 2 using an expandable learning platform with integrated sensing and tutorials. | Not a heavy-payload outdoor research platform. |
| OTTO 600 and OTTO 1200 | Factory-floor material movement as industrial AMRs. | Not classroom robots or general-purpose research-platform substitutes. |
Clearpath provides an authorized distributor directory for its products. OTTO’s industrial robots are sold through certified dealers. For either line, confirm local availability, the supplied configuration, and service terms directly with the vendor or dealer.
What has not been announced
The public material cited here does not provide a 2026 Clearpath research-robot roadmap, a specific next model, a release date, or a detailed development schedule after Husky A300. The 2023 interview records earlier strategic expectations, while dated product announcements establish products and capabilities at the time they were published. Rockwell’s investment in industrial robotics and OTTO’s production expansion should not be used to infer a Clearpath research launch.
