If you cannot change it, use the order’s cancellation flow or contact DoorDash support. Whether the restaurant has processed or confirmed the order—and whether a Dasher has been assigned—can affect the options and refund DoorDash offers.
Try to correct the order before cancelling
- Open the DoorDash app or website and select the current order.
- Open Help and choose Make adjustments to this order, if available. Tell support exactly what needs to change, such as the item, quantity, or delivery details.
- If you do not see the adjustment option, choose Chat with Support from the order’s Help options. DoorDash says customers can ask support to make changes if the restaurant has not yet processed the order; availability depends on the order’s status.

Cancel if a correction is not possible
In the app, go to Orders → select the live order → Help → Cancel Order, then follow the prompts. On the website, select the live order, open Help, and choose Cancel Order. Review the refund information shown before submitting the cancellation request.
DoorDash’s general guidance for orders that are not late ties refund eligibility to both restaurant confirmation and Dasher assignment. It describes these outcomes:

These are general outcomes from DoorDash’s cancellation guidance, not a promise about an individual order. DoorDash says refund or credit decisions are at its discretion and subject to its consumer terms; the terms shown in your order flow are the relevant ones for your request.
If it was a duplicate order, act quickly
For an accidental duplicate, use the order’s self-help cancellation flow as soon as you notice it. DoorDash says a duplicate order cannot be cancelled through that route after the merchant has confirmed it. If the option is blocked or the order status is unclear, contact support through the order. DoorDash’s duplicate-order help page lists chat and phone support as available 24/7.

Contact support when the self-service options fail
If adjustment or cancellation is unavailable, the order is already confirmed, or you need help understanding the choices shown, escalate through DoorDash’s order support. Keep the order details and confirmation information available so you can identify the order and explain the correction. DoorDash’s support hub lists in-app chat, phone support, and automated guided help for delivery issues. Availability and interface labels can vary, so follow the live order’s Help options.
If the food arrives and is still wrong
Use the order’s Help flow to report the problem that actually occurred—for example, a missing item or an item that differs from what was delivered. Distinguish that from an incorrect order submitted by the agent: do not report food as missing or incorrectly delivered if it never arrived or the issue is what was ordered in the first place.

Secure the AI agent’s access separately
The DoorDash help pages above do not describe a special reversal process for orders placed by an AI agent, or explain how to revoke an agent’s authorization. As a practical precaution, review the permissions in the app, service, or account through which you connected the agent and disable ordering access if you no longer want it to place orders. That is separate from correcting or cancelling the order already submitted through DoorDash.
