A 100-inch television can be impossible to deliver or mount safely if you check only the screen size. Before paying for delivery, obtain the exact model number, its boxed dimensions and shipping weight, the route into your room, the provider’s service limits, and the stand or wall-mount requirements. Near-100-inch sets vary substantially, so the model’s manual and specification sheet—not the diagonal measurement—must control your plan.
Start with the exact model number
“100-inch TV” describes the diagonal, not the package that has to pass through your home. Carton size, shipping weight, stand spacing, VESA pattern, screw dimensions and mounting instructions differ by model and by market. Ask the seller for the complete model code, including any regional suffix, before measuring doors or buying a mount.
Use the manufacturer’s specification page and installation manual for that exact code. Retailer listings can omit the carton or stand information, and a similarly named model may use different hardware. Save a copy of the specifications so the delivery team, installer and furniture supplier are working from the same figures.
Check the boxed dimensions and weight
Measure the carton, not just the unpacked television. The box must clear every narrow section while remaining protected. Shipping weight determines whether the crew, elevator and flooring can handle it; the bare-set weight determines the wall mount or console load.

| Specification | Hisense 100U7N example | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Carton dimensions | 240.2 × 151.4 × 29.7 cm (94.6 × 59.6 × 11.7 in) | All three dimensions affect doors, turns, stairs and elevator clearance. |
| Shipping weight | 97.0 kg (213.8 lb) | Used for handling, vehicle unloading, elevator and floor planning. |
| TV without stand | 60.0 kg | Relevant to wall-mount load calculations. |
| TV with stand | 62.5 kg | Relevant to console capacity and final placement. |
| Minimum stand top | 139.3 × 50.0 cm | The furniture must provide at least this supported surface for the listed stand. |
| VESA pattern | 600 × 400 mm | Only a mount supporting this exact spacing and the required hardware is compatible. |
These figures come from the Hisense Japan support entry for the 100U7N, updated July 31, 2025. They are an example, not a universal specification for every 98-, 100- or 101-inch set. Keep the carton upright as instructed by the manufacturer; do not assume a box can be laid flat because it fits that way.
Measure the complete route to the room
A front-door width alone does not answer “Will a 100-inch TV fit through my doorway or up my stairs?” Measure the entire path from the unloading point to the final position while allowing room to turn the carton.
1. Check the unloading and parking area
Confirm where the truck can legally stop and whether a driveway, gate, loading dock or building entrance restricts vehicle access. Tell the provider about timed loading zones, security desks, long walks from the curb, uneven paving and any requirement to reserve a lift or loading bay. A crew may decline a route that is physically possible but cannot be reached safely from the vehicle.
2. Measure every opening
Record the clear width and height with the door fully open, not the nominal frame size. Include door thickness, hinges, handles, closers, thresholds and the swing arc. Measure interior doors, hallway pinch points, archways and the opening into the destination room. If a door can be removed without damage, ask the provider whether that is your responsibility.
3. Measure turns, stairs and landings
At each corner, measure the available diagonal space as well as straight width. Note banisters, newel posts, radiators, light fixtures, low ceilings and the depth of each landing. A carton that clears a straight staircase can still fail at the first turn. Photograph difficult sections and send the dimensions to the carrier before the appointment.

4. Check elevators and building rules
Obtain the elevator’s door opening, interior dimensions, weight limit and any padding or booking rules. Compare the carton’s three dimensions and shipping weight with those limits; do not rely on a promise that the crew can “angle it in.” Apartments and condominiums may require a certificate of insurance, a loading reservation or a specified service elevator.
5. Do not plan on unpacking in a tight section
Ask whether the provider permits unpacking before a difficult passage. Do not assume it will. Some carriers require the television to remain boxed until it reaches the room, and an unpacked panel is more vulnerable to twisting and impact. Have the route cleared before the truck arrives, including rugs, plants, artwork and movable furniture.

Confirm exactly what delivery includes
“Delivery” can mean placing a sealed carton at the threshold, carrying it to a chosen room, unpacking it, assembling the stand, installing it on a wall or removing the packaging. Get the scope in writing from the actual retailer or carrier in your country.
| Service question | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Where will the carton be left? | Threshold, garage, lobby or room of choice; ask about stairs, long corridors and elevators. |
| Is unpacking included? | Confirm who removes the box, inspects the panel and handles packaging. |
| Is stand assembly included? | Ask whether feet, screws and cable routing are installed or merely delivered. |
| Is wall mounting included? | Check whether the mount is supplied, whether drilling is included and whether a separate appointment is required. |
| Will old equipment be removed? | Ask about size, weight, working condition and recycling charges. |
| What access is excluded? | Clarify stairs, elevators, narrow turns, hoisting, windows, roofs, balconies and difficult surfaces. |
| What happens if access fails? | Confirm redelivery, cancellation, restocking, damage inspection and extra-trip charges before scheduling. |
Samsung US distinguishes delivery-only, initial setup, and delivery plus installation. Its service checklist places the statement “Lift or hoist TVs over objects or through windows to complete delivery” among services that are not included. In other words, do not expect that crew to hoist the television over furniture or bring it through a window. Those are Samsung US terms, not a universal rule; your provider may use different limits.
Ask whether a responsible adult must be present, how far the team will carry the carton, whether a second appointment is needed for mounting, and whether the building must provide a certificate of insurance. Keep the written confirmation with your order.

Choose the stand or wall before delivery
Decide where the television will go before the carton arrives. Changing from a stand to a wall after delivery can require another appointment, different hardware and a new cable plan.
Stand installation
Verify that the television includes feet or a pedestal, and identify the correct left and right pieces before the crew opens the box. Check the manufacturer’s required spacing, screw locations and minimum console surface. For the Hisense 100U7N example, the listed minimum top is 139.3 × 50.0 cm and the set weighs 62.5 kg with its stand. The console must be level, stable and rated for the full load, with no overhanging edge that could let the screen tip.
Use furniture designed for a very large display rather than joining two small cabinets. Check that drawers, doors and soundbars will not block the feet or ventilation. Secure the furniture against tipping where appropriate, and leave enough depth for cables without forcing the panel forward.
Wall installation
Wall mounting frees floor space but transfers the television’s load to the wall, fasteners and mount. Read the exact manual for VESA spacing, screw diameter, screw length, washers, spacers and the weight without the stand. A mount advertised as “up to 100 inches” is not automatically compatible.
| Model example | Published mounting guidance | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Hisense 100U7N | VESA 600 × 400 mm; 60.0 kg without stand | Select a mount that supports 600 × 400 mm and at least the set’s specified load, using the manual’s screws and spacers. |
| TCL 98QM7K | VESA 500 × 600 mm; mount must bear at least five times the TV’s net weight | Follow that model’s five-times load requirement rather than applying it to another television. |
The TCL values come from its 98QM7K quick-start guide. The unusual orientation and the five-times requirement show why the exact manual controls mount selection. Check whether the bracket’s horizontal and vertical adjustment ranges actually reach the listed hole spacing.

Verify the wall and installation location
Before booking an installer, describe the wall and the intended height. Wall material and thickness affect anchors, screw length and the installer’s ability to find approved fixing points. Samsung Korea’s localized installation guidance specifically notes that wall material and thickness matter and provides product-specific clearance advice.
- Framed drywall: identify stud centers and confirm that the bracket can be fixed to approved structural members, not just plasterboard.
- Masonry or concrete: verify the correct anchors, drill depth and whether the surface is sound.
- Tile, stone or metal: disclose the finish in advance; specialist bits, anchors or a different service may be required.
- Fireplace or high placement: ask whether the provider excludes the location and whether heat, height and access meet its policy.
- Electrical access: confirm that an outlet is reachable without trapping the power cord. Standard delivery may not include new wiring, outlet relocation or concealment.
Samsung US installation terms exclude some wall surfaces, high placements, fireplace locations and electrical work. These exclusions vary by country and installer, so obtain a site-specific answer rather than relying on a generic service description. Mark the desired screen center and viewing height with painter’s tape, then check sight lines from the main seats before drilling.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Plan safe handling
Do not attempt a solo lift of a near-100-inch television. The panel can flex under uneven force, and a fall can injure people as well as destroy the set. Clear the route, protect flooring and nearby furniture, and keep children and pets away from the work area.
Samsung’s official installation document says: “For 82-inch or larger models, have four or more people mount the television onto a wall.” That is a Samsung instruction for its products, not a universal staffing specification, but it illustrates the handling risk. Follow the exact model’s instructions and the crew’s directions about where to hold the television.

Use this pre-delivery checklist
- Write down the exact model and regional suffix.
- Download the model manual and record carton dimensions, shipping weight, bare-set weight, stand dimensions, VESA pattern and screw requirements.
- Measure the truck approach, entrance, doors, halls, turns, stairs, landings, elevator and final room.
- Send unusual access measurements or photographs to the provider and obtain written acceptance.
- Choose stand or wall mounting and verify the console or bracket load rating.
- Describe wall construction, finish, height, fireplace proximity and outlet location to the installer.
- Confirm room-of-choice placement, unpacking, stand assembly, wall mounting, debris removal and old-TV removal.
- Ask about stairs, elevators, parking, hoisting, windows, certificates of insurance, appointment timing and failed-access charges.
- Clear the route and protect floors before the delivery window.
- Inspect the carton for crushing or punctures before signing, and record damage according to the carrier’s procedure.
If the plan fails on delivery day
The carton cannot clear a doorway
Do not force or twist it. Ask the crew to document the obstruction, then contact the retailer about an approved alternative such as removing a door, using a different route or rescheduling with a specialist. Unpacking without authorization can affect damage responsibility.
The elevator or stairs are unsuitable
Stop the move and confirm the building’s permitted route. A larger service elevator, reserved loading time or specialist handling may be required. Never exceed an elevator’s posted capacity.
The wall cannot accept the mount
Have the installer explain the structural problem and the approved remedy. Possible solutions include relocating to a studded section, using a suitable masonry fixing or choosing a supported console. Do not accept anchors that the manual or mount manufacturer does not approve.
The provider’s scope is smaller than expected
Refer to the written order. If it covers threshold delivery only, arrange a separate installation service rather than asking the driver to perform unlisted work. Confirm who is responsible for packaging, inspection and any second visit.
Make the decision before you order
When both stand and wall mounting are feasible, compare wall and furniture suitability, the model-specific load and dimensions, the provider’s included work and exclusions, clearance and cable access, viewing position, and whether the crew can safely place the television after negotiating your route. The safest plan is the one that matches the exact model, the actual building and the written service scope—not the one based on a generic “up to 100 inches” label.
