Our verdict on Nova-Suite
Nova-Suite is an open-source IT service management platform for modern IT teams that need structured control over incidents, problems, service requests, knowledge, and configuration items. Its change management workflow covers approvals, scheduling, conflict checks, blackout windows, and CAB support, while the CMDB connects configurable CI classes and relationships to impact analysis and history. The platform is available through a web interface, REST API, or self-hosted deployment, with an AGPL-3.0 licensed Standard edition.
The published plans divide the product into a free self-hosted Standard edition and a Commercial edition with custom pricing. Standard includes unlimited agents, an employee portal, incident and problem management, a knowledge base, change management, and CMDB functionality. Commercial adds terms for private-source changes, direct deployment guidance, priority support options, and discussions around the roadmap and integrations. This makes the free tier relevant to teams comfortable operating an open-source deployment, while organizations modifying the source privately need the Commercial model.
Nova-Suite fits teams that want change governance connected to wider ITSM processes rather than a narrowly focused change calendar. Its REST API includes Swagger documentation, and integrations include REST API, CSV, and DB connectivity. Workflow automation uses Temporal, while OIDC-based single sign-on supports Google and Microsoft Entra ID.
