Our verdict on MapHub
MapHub is a web-based tool for creating and publishing interactive maps. It suits individuals, teams and organizations that need to place points, lines, polygons, labels and photos on maps, organize items into groups, and share the result publicly or privately. Geographic data can be imported and exported in formats including GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML, GPX and CSV. The product also supports embeds, custom icons, basemaps, geocoding providers, version history and an HTTP API with API-key authentication.
The Free plan covers public maps, unlimited views, unlimited embeds, up to 100 items per map and up to 100 kB of GeoJSON per map. The Hobbyist plan adds private and secret-link maps, advanced embedding, unlimited images, unlimited custom icons, high-resolution image export and email support. Business adds private-map collaboration, analytics, business branding, Excel export, autoplay embedding and visitor search. Enterprise is listed at USD 300 per month and adds white-label branding, a dedicated MapHub server, interface customization, custom-domain support, unlimited items per map and premium support. Published pricing details also show a starting price of 8, with currency and localized pricing varying by region.
MapHub’s strongest fit is collaborative map publishing where revision history, sharing controls and geographic file exchange matter more than native mobile applications. Its public, private and secret-link options provide different sharing modes, while viewer/editor permissions help separate participation levels. The HTTP API extends the product beyond its web interface, and embeds support publishing maps on websites. The Free plan is practical for smaller public maps, but its item and GeoJSON limits narrow its use for larger projects. Choose MapHub for accessible collaborative mapping with paid paths to privacy, analytics, branding and hosting control; consider an alternative if native apps or broader platform coverage are essential.
