Capto is an AI-powered document automation platform for UK accountants, bookkeepers, accounting practices, and their clients. It collects receipts, invoices, purchase documents, and bank statements through mobile, email, WhatsApp, or a web portal. The platform extracts supplier, amount, VAT, date, category, and other fields, then supports review, correction, approval, archiving, and client-level access. Its strongest fit is a practice that wants a central workflow for processing client receipts rather than a standalone scanning tool.
Pricing is straightforward: the Practice / Wholesale plan costs £11.99 per client per month on monthly billing. The plan includes bank and credit-card statement processing, line-item extraction, direct posting to Xero and QuickBooks, a full audit trail with 7-year retention, MTD-ready workflows, CIS handling, and HMRC VAT validation. The published offer also advertises three months free from go-live for early adopters. There is no free plan.
