The MOVA LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD looks well equipped for large, sloped lawns: MOVA rates it for up to 0.75 acre and an 80% (38.6°) maximum slope, and PCWorld found its traction impressive on uneven ground. The catch is setup. On PCWorld’s complicated test lawn, automatic mapping sometimes sent the mower beyond the grass or left it stuck; manually mapping the perimeter fixed the problem. It is a promising fit if terrain is your main challenge and you can tolerate hands-on boundary setup—not a guaranteed wire-free, set-and-forget choice for every irregular yard.

What the LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD offers

MOVA sells the LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD as a wire-free robotic mower using LiDAR and AI vision for navigation, with four-wheel drive and AI obstacle avoidance. Its US listing also specifies dual-map support and up to 150 managed zones. Those are manufacturer-described capabilities; they do not guarantee that automatic boundary mapping will succeed on every property. MOVA’s US product listing describes the product and its features.

The manufacturer’s specifications make the mower attractive on paper for a large or difficult lawn. The figures below are MOVA claims, not independently verified results across lawns. MOVA’s LiDAX Ultra comparison page provides the listed specifications.

Specification LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD
Rated lawn area Up to 0.75 acre for a single lawn
Mowing per charge 0.2–0.25 acre
Runtime 150–170 minutes
Maximum slope 80% (38.6°)
Cutting width 15.8 inches
Cutting height Electronically adjustable from 1.2 to 3.9 inches
Battery 7.5 Ah

Area capacity, runtime, and slope ratings are not promises that every yard of that size or steepness will be handled under all conditions. Yard shape, surface, obstacles, and boundary setup matter, and PCWorld’s review found that setup could be the weak point.

How it handled slopes and uneven ground

PCWorld reviewer Michael Ansaldo tested the mower on a roughly 7,600-square-foot lawn with slopes, uneven ground, trees, a play structure, bare patches, mulch borders, and a raised strip beside a fence. The review, published September 24, 2026, praised the mower’s traction on slopes and uneven terrain, as well as its obstacle detection and avoidance. These findings come from one reviewer’s property, not a broad test across different lawns. Read PCWorld’s hands-on review.

PCWorld describes four 116-watt hub motors, independent suspension, and omni wheels. The reviewer also found the mower large and heavy: 52 pounds and approximately 29.1 × 20.9 × 12.6 inches. Those dimensions and weight may be inconvenient if you need to carry it, move it through tight access, or store it in a small shed or garage.

Does automatic mapping work on an irregular yard?

Not reliably in PCWorld’s test. During automatic mapping, the mower sometimes crossed the lawn boundary into mulch or went over a raised edge. It could also become stuck. The reviewer resolved the navigation problem by manually driving the mower around the perimeter and saving that map. Afterward, it stayed on the grass, handled slopes and uneven ground, and crossed a narrow raised edge.

That is a useful distinction for buyers: the mower is wire-free, but wire-free does not mean setup-free. The review supports the view that manual mapping can be a workable fallback, but it does not establish how often automatic mapping will fail on other properties. A lawn with clear edges may present a different challenge from one with mulch borders, abrupt height changes, or complicated boundaries.

How it compares with the non-AWD LiDAX Ultra 2000

MOVA’s comparison page lists a lower-capacity non-AWD model, the LiDAX Ultra 2000. These are manufacturer specifications, not proof that either mower will perform better on a particular lawn.

Manufacturer-listed specification LiDAX Ultra 2000 LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD
Rated lawn area Up to 0.5 acre Up to 0.75 acre
Maximum slope 45% 80%
Cutting width 7.9 inches 15.8 inches
Runtime 70–90 minutes 150–170 minutes

The 3000 AWD’s published specifications favor larger lawns, steeper slopes, wider cutting, and longer runtime. To decide whether that difference matters, consider not just acreage but also terrain, yard layout, mapping tolerance, storage, and the price you can actually buy it for.

Price and whether it is worth buying

This is a premium mower, and the prices reported in the available listings differ. On September 24, 2026, PCWorld reported a price of $2,399 against a $2,999 list price. MOVA’s US product listing, accessed October 4, 2026, displayed $2,199 against the same $2,999 list price. These are separate observations, not guaranteed current offers; check the live listing and terms before purchasing. Check MOVA’s product listing.

The strongest case for the 3000 AWD is a large lawn where slope and uneven ground make traction important. PCWorld’s hands-on results support that strength, while also showing that a buyer may need to map boundaries manually if automatic mapping struggles. The mower is a less obvious fit for a small yard, where its size and 52-pound weight may be cumbersome, or for someone who expects mapping to be effortless on a complex property.

Before choosing it, compare the lawn area and number of maps or zones you need, the actual slope and surface, your willingness to intervene in boundary setup, cutting width and runtime, storage and handling needs, and the live purchase price. No specification alone establishes how well a mower will work on an individual lawn.
