Warner Bros. Discovery’s US rights announcement identifies HBO Max as the US streaming home for the Studio Ghibli library and names My Neighbor Totoro among the films. Studio Ghibli’s viewing guide similarly points US viewers to Max for its comprehensive catalog, while describing Netflix as the service used outside the US, Canada and Japan.
This arrangement is why searching Netflix US by either the English title or the Japanese title, Tonari no Totoro, may return no result. The absence is a rights issue, not necessarily a problem with your account, app or internet connection.
