You can save a Google AI Mode response as a PDF by asking AI Mode to create one, then selecting the generated file to download it. To share the answer as a link, use Share at the bottom of the response; to send an image, use your device’s or browser’s screenshot function. Choose a PDF when people need readable, potentially selectable text; a screenshot when a fixed visual is enough; and a link when they need the thread context.
How do I save an AI Mode response as a PDF?
Ask AI Mode to turn the answer into a PDF, then select the file it generates to download it. Google says AI Mode can generate and download files from prompts, uploaded images or files, and existing AI Mode threads; PDF is among the supported formats. Google’s help page says this feature is currently available in English to users who are 18 or older, and availability may vary.
- Open AI Mode at google.com/ai, from Google Search, or in the Google app.
- In the same thread, ask for the document. For example:
Turn the answer above into a clean, one-page PDF with the headings and source links preserved.Adjust the requested length and layout if a one-page version would omit important detail. - When the generated file appears, select it to download it.
- Open the downloaded PDF before sending it. Check page breaks, headings, citations, and source links, and confirm that the text is readable at normal zoom.
A PDF is a better fit than an image if readers need to search or select text, although selectable text is not guaranteed. If the answer contains factual or consequential claims, retain its source links and verify them: Google warns that AI responses may include mistakes.

What to check before sharing the PDF
- Make sure the document includes the parts of the answer that matter; a concise layout request can lead to omitted detail.
- Open source links and check that they point to the intended material.
- Look for awkward page breaks, unreadably small text, or missing citations.
- Remove private information from the prompt or thread if it is not meant for recipients.
Can I share an AI Mode answer with a link?
Yes. Use Share at the bottom of the AI response to copy a link or choose an available social platform. A shared thread can include questions and responses already in it; private follow-ups made after sharing are not added to that shared link.

- Review the whole thread, not just the answer you intend to send.
- At the bottom of the AI response, click or tap Share.
- Choose a listed social platform, or copy the link into an email, message, or forum post.
- Check what the recipient will see and remove personal information before sending.
Google says shared links can be deleted or reshared. Treat a shared link as something you are distributing beyond your private session: check the thread for personal details and turns you do not want others to see.
How do I screenshot an AI Mode response?
Google’s retrieved help pages do not document a dedicated screenshot control for AI Mode. Use the standard screenshot feature on your operating system or browser instead; exact commands differ by device, so consult that device’s instructions if you need specific keystrokes.

- Scroll to the response section you want to capture. Collapse unrelated panels where the interface allows it.
- Use your device’s standard screenshot command for the visible screen, or a scrolling-capture option if your device supports one.
- Save the image as PNG or JPG, then crop out unrelated tabs, account details, or private prompts.
- Inspect the saved image at the size recipients will view it. If the answer is too long to read in one image, capture separate sections or use the PDF or link method.
- Send the image file through your usual channel.

How can I capture a publicly accessible shared response with an API?
If you already have a shared AI Mode link, first confirm that it opens as intended without relying on your signed-in session. What should I do if the PDF, link, or screenshot is not right?
- The generated PDF is missing content: Ask AI Mode to regenerate it with explicit instructions to retain the relevant sections, headings, and source links. Open the new file and inspect it before sharing.
- The PDF is hard to read: Request a simpler layout or a longer document rather than forcing a detailed response onto one page. Check the downloaded file at ordinary viewing size.
- The shared link shows more than the intended answer: Review the existing turns in the thread before sharing. Google says later private follow-ups are excluded, but earlier questions and responses may be included.
- The screenshot cuts off the answer: Capture separate sections or use a scrolling screenshot if your device supports it. A PDF or shared link may be more useful for a long response.
- An API capture shows a blank, blocked, or incomplete page: The shared URL may not be accessible to the capture service, or the page may not have finished loading. Check that the link opens independently and use the PDF or manual screenshot workflow if it does not.
How should I verify an AI Mode response before forwarding it?
Preserve the source links and check important claims against those sources before distributing the answer. Google cautions that AI responses may contain mistakes; a polished PDF or clear screenshot does not make the underlying answer more reliable. For a shared link, review the thread for personal details and unrelated turns as well as checking the answer itself.

Google says AI Mode file generation can start from uploaded images or files as well as text prompts and existing AI Mode threads. The generated-file feature is currently described as available in English to users aged 18 or older.
Can I remove or share a shared AI Mode link again later?
Google says shared links can be deleted or reshared. If you no longer want a link in circulation, use the available link controls and review the thread before sharing it again.
Does a screenshot preserve clickable source links?
No. A screenshot is an image of what was visible when captured, so source URLs in it are not interactive links. Share the original link or a PDF with checked links when recipients need to open sources.
