  1. The first page of the wizard offers you 2 options. You choose for Windows 10 to automatically search for updated driver for the device. However, if you have an updated driver, select the second option.
If you select the option for Windows to Search automatically for updated driver software, Windows 10 will search the internet for available updated drivers for the device. However, if you select the Browse my computer for driver software, you have to manually point the wizard to the folder you saved the downloaded updated driver for the device.
This update method has one limitation – if the automatic search do not find a higher-version driver different from the existing driver, it will not offer the option to update. Moreover, if you use the second option but the driver you have is the same or a lower version, you may not be able to reinstall the driver. To install a specific driver version, use the steps in the next method.

Option 2: Uninstall and Reinstall the Device Driver

Use this method to reinstall audio drivers on Windows 10 if you want to install a specific audio driver version.

  1. Open Device Manager, and expand the Sound, video and game controllers category.

  1. Once you have uninstalled the audio device driver, reinstall the driver with the new downloaded version.
