- Press your keyboard’s Windows + R keys to launch the Run dialogue box. Then, type “regedit” (without the quotes) in the Run input field and click the OK button.
- After doing that, a User Account Control prompt will appear on your PC’s screen asking if you want to allow the app to make changes to your PC – click Yes to continue.
- Then, navigate to the following location using the folders on the left pane of the Registry Editor window.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3
- After that, double-click Settings on the right pane of the window.
- Next, in the second row and the sixth column under Value data, click the “03” value. Then, press the Delete key on your keyboard and replace the value with “00”.
The 02 value moves the Windows 11 taskbar to the right.
The 00 value moves the Windows 11 taskbar to the left.
The 03 value moves the Windows 11 taskbar to the bottom (default).
- Following that, click the OK button at the bottom of the Edit Binary Value window to save the change.
- Next, right-click the Windows 11 Start menu on the taskbar and select Task Manager from the displayed options.
- Then, locate and select Windows Explorer on the Processes tab in the Task Manager window.
- Finally, click the Restart button at the bottom right corner of the Task Manager window.

I tried moving the entire taskbar to the left, however, the registry edit does not stay. Upon restarting Windows Explorer, the registry resets itself to show the “03” instead of the edited “00”.
