To leave the Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta, back up the phone, open Settings > System > Nothing Beta Hub, tap Check Version, choose Request Rollback, then use Go to Rollback and Confirm & Rollback. Nothing delivers the downgrade as a system OTA update. The rollback erases the phone, so it is not a data-preserving downgrade. If the stable release for the tested version has already reached your device, the safer route is to wait for that normal OTA; Nothing says beta users can install it without leaving the Open Beta first.
How do I leave Nothing OS beta using Nothing Beta Hub?
The documented rollback route is handled on the phone through Nothing Beta Hub V2.0. It does not require downloading a rollback package manually. The phone must show that it is eligible, and the request must be completed while it is valid.
Prepare the phone before opening the beta hub
- Connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network for the later system update.
- Back up photos, contacts, messages and call logs. Nothing warns that rollback erases phone data.
- Make sure the current Nothing Beta Hub V2.0 is installed. Older hub versions are not supported for the current Open Beta rollback flow.
- Keep the phone charged and leave enough free storage for the downloaded system update and the restored apps or files you plan to bring back later.
Follow the nine-step rollback sequence
- Open Settings.
- Tap System.
- Open Nothing Beta Hub.
- Tap Check Version. This refreshes the device’s eligibility and available beta actions.
- Tap Request Rollback when the option appears.
- Wait for Request Successful, then tap OK.
- Within the request’s validity period, tap Go to Rollback.
- Read the warning, confirm that you understand all data will be erased and that the phone is backed up, then tap Confirm & Rollback.
- When Nothing redirects you to system updates, open Settings > System > System update, download the downgrade OTA over Wi-Fi and install it.
Nothing describes this as an OTA downgrade: the system update, rather than a separately downloaded package, performs the return to the supported software branch.
What does a Nothing OS rollback erase?
A rollback is destructive. The confirmation screen specifically warns that all data will be erased, so treat the operation like a factory reset followed by installation of the stable software.

Back up data that is easy to overlook
- Photos and videos: verify that recent camera files have finished syncing or copy them to another device.
- Contacts: check that contacts stored only on the phone, rather than in an account, are exported or synchronized.
- Messages: preserve conversations that are not already covered by your chosen backup service.
- Call logs: save recent call history if you need it for work, support or records.
- App data and authenticator access: confirm that important apps can be restored and that you have recovery methods for two-factor authentication before wiping the device.
Do not interpret a successful rollback request as a backup. The request only authorizes the downgrade; it does not preserve local files. Nothing’s warning is explicit: “Confirm that you understand all data will be erased and that you have backed up your phone.”
What the backup cannot guarantee
Android account synchronization can restore many contacts, settings and apps, but individual apps decide what they back up. Banking apps, authenticator apps, locally stored downloads and protected work profiles may require separate export or re-enrollment steps. Check those services before tapping the final confirmation because the rollback itself cannot recover data that was stored only on the phone.
Why is Request Rollback missing in Nothing Beta Hub?
The rollback button is eligibility-based. Its absence does not prove that the phone is permanently unable to leave the beta; it means the current hub check has not offered a valid rollback action.
Update to the supported hub version
Nothing requires Nothing Beta Hub V2.0 for the current Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta rollback flow. If an older hub is installed, update it first, then return to Settings > System > Nothing Beta Hub and run Check Version again. Older hub releases are unsupported for this process.
Refresh eligibility instead of guessing a build number
The public instructions do not establish one universal rollback build for every Nothing phone. Eligibility can depend on the device and software state, so the phone’s own Beta Hub is the authority. Use Check Version rather than trying to install a package intended for another model or region.

Allow time for the request to synchronize
Nothing says a successful rollback request can take up to five minutes to synchronize. Leave the phone connected, wait that period, and check the hub again before assuming the request failed. Repeatedly tapping controls during synchronization can make it harder to tell whether the original request is still active.
How long is a rollback request valid?
A successful request remains valid for 48 hours. During that window, open the beta hub and tap Go to Rollback, then accept the erase warning and proceed to the system-update screen.

What happens when the 48-hour window expires?
An expired request cannot be used to start the downgrade. Return to Nothing Beta Hub, tap Check Version, and request rollback again if the device is still eligible. Wait for the new success message and use the newly issued window rather than relying on an earlier notification or screen.
How should I install the downgrade OTA safely?
Once Confirm & Rollback sends you to system updates, the remaining work is an OTA download and installation. Nothing Support recommends Wi-Fi and warns users not to interrupt the update.
Use the system-update path
- Open Settings > System > System update.
- Start the available downgrade download while connected to Wi-Fi.
- Keep the phone connected to power if practical and leave it undisturbed while the update applies.
- Do not press the power button or take other actions during the installation.
- Wait for the phone to finish restarting before judging whether the rollback completed.
Stopping the process halfway can leave the device without a completed operating-system installation. If the update screen appears to pause, give it time rather than forcing a restart; Nothing’s published guidance is to avoid interrupting the upgrade process.

Why the rollback does not use a manual package
Nothing’s current instructions state: “You no longer need to manually download a rollback package. The downgrade is handled through a system OTA update.” That design ties the offered update to the eligibility check on the device and avoids choosing a package by hand.

Sometimes. If Nothing has released the general stable version corresponding to the beta you are testing, Nothing says beta users receive it as a normal OTA and do not need to leave the Open Beta first. A normal stable update is the data-preserving option described for this situation; the explicit rollback flow is the wipe-based option.

If keeping local data is more important than returning immediately, check System update for the stable release before requesting a rollback. If the stable build is not offered and you need to leave the beta now, make a complete backup and use the hub flow.
Did I enroll through Google’s Android Beta Program instead?
Google’s Android Beta Program uses a different opt-out process. A device enrolled there must be removed through Google’s beta portal, not through Nothing Beta Hub.
Google’s opt-out route
- Open Google’s Android Beta Program portal in a browser.
- Sign in with the Google account enrolled in the beta.
- Select the enrolled Nothing device.
- Choose the option to opt out of the beta.
- Read Google’s warning about the stable update and local data, then follow the portal’s instructions.
Google says the stable update normally wipes locally saved data after opt-out. During a limited period after the final public release of the tested Android version, opting out can avoid a wipe; outside that period, applying the stable update requires the wipe. The availability of that exception depends on Google’s release timing, not on the Nothing Beta Hub request window.

If you are unsure which program enrolled the phone, look at where you originally joined the beta. A Nothing Beta Hub enrollment is handled in the phone’s Settings app; a Google enrollment is managed through the Google beta portal. Do not submit both opt-out methods for the same device without first identifying the active enrollment.

The hub shows no Request Rollback button
- Install or update to Nothing Beta Hub V2.0.
- Run Check Version again.
- Confirm that the phone is online and has finished checking for updates.
- Check Settings > System > System update for a general stable release.
If the button still does not appear, the phone is not currently being offered an eligible rollback by the hub. The published instructions do not define one universal build number that can be substituted manually.
The request says successful, but Go to Rollback is unavailable
Allow up to five minutes for synchronization, then reopen the hub and check again. If the request’s 48-hour validity period has passed, run Check Version and submit a new request.
The OTA does not appear after confirmation
Open Settings > System > System update directly, connect to Wi-Fi and check again. The rollback is delivered through the system-update service, so the beta hub’s confirmation and the OTA download are separate screens.

The installation appears frozen
Do not press the power button or perform other actions while the update is installing. Keep the phone connected and wait for the process to finish. If the device cannot complete the documented update flow or cannot reach Settings afterward, the published instructions do not provide a universal recovery package; seek Nothing’s official support for that specific model and software state.
What should I verify before tapping Confirm & Rollback?
Use this final check immediately before accepting the erase warning:
- Your photos and videos are accessible from another device or cloud account.
- Your contacts, messages and call logs have been backed up.
- Authenticator, banking and work apps have recovery or re-enrollment methods.
- You know which Google account will restore synchronized content.
- You have reliable Wi-Fi for the downgrade OTA.
- The phone is running Nothing Beta Hub V2.0.
- You can leave the phone untouched while the system update installs.
- You have decided that returning immediately is worth wiping local data, rather than waiting for the general stable OTA.
Which route should I choose?
Choose based on enrollment source, urgency and whether preserving local data matters more than leaving the beta immediately.

The practical dividing line is data preservation. A stable OTA, when offered for the tested version, avoids the destructive rollback procedure. The Nothing Beta Hub rollback is the immediate exit when eligible, but it must be planned as a full erase and OTA reinstall.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a computer to leave the Nothing OS beta?
No computer or manual rollback file is required for the Nothing Beta Hub route. The phone requests the rollback and then downloads the downgrade through its own System update screen.
Can I request rollback again after the 48-hour period?
Yes, if the device remains eligible. Open Nothing Beta Hub, run Check Version and submit a new rollback request; an expired request itself cannot be reused.
Is every Nothing phone eligible for the same rollback build?
