Standard is the straightforward choice when the reader needs an ordinary second number and does not need the Premium bundle. Burner may not work with SMS short-code services, so Burner should not be presented as a guaranteed solution for bank, government, or two-factor-authentication verification. A service can reject an app-based or VoIP number even when ordinary calls and texts work normally.
Burner is not for 911 emergency calls. Use a regular mobile or landline service for emergency calling. The Apple listing’s service notes identify both the short-code and 911 limitations.
