The company’s general estimate is four to ten months after the window closes, depending on the product; check the individual product page and live status tracker for the estimate that applies to your order.
How a Limited Run Games preorder moves toward shipment
Limited Run Games describes its products as bespoke and manufactured to demand. The preorder window establishes how many orders are being made; final manufacturing begins only after that window ends. Product pages may specify a particular edition’s quantity or terms, but there is no single run size that applies to every release.
- Preorder window: Customers place orders during the period shown on the product page. The company says production begins after the window closes.
- Design and creative work: For collector editions, teams design components, packaging, and labels and obtain developer and partner approvals.
- Sampling and approval: Production partners make samples for review. Revisions are typical, and significant changes can extend this stage.
- Production: The separate components are manufactured. Limited Run Games says this is typically the longest stage because components can have different production times.
- Final assembly: Components go to an assembly facility, where the collector edition is put together.
- Manufacturing complete and fulfillment: The edition is ready, but it may still need to travel to the warehouse and be processed there before it ships. This status does not mean the parcel is already in transit to you.
The live Pre-Order Status page shows a title’s stage, estimated window, update month, and notes. Its examples change over time, so another title’s dates are not a reliable estimate for your order.
How long shipping takes
In its General Shipping Information article dated March 18, 2026, Limited Run Games gives a general preorder estimate of four to ten months after the preorder window closes, depending on complexity. Its order FAQ gives a related estimate: standard edition games generally ship within four months, while collector editions can take up to ten months. These are company estimates, not delivery guarantees.

In-hand items follow a different timeline: the same shipping article says they can take up to two weeks to ship, depending on the shipping team’s volume. For a preorder, use the specific title’s product page and tracker rather than relying only on the general range; estimates and status notes can change.
Where to check an order’s status
- Open the title’s product page and review its production status and estimated shipping window.
- Find the title on the Pre-Order Status tracker. Read the stage, estimate, last update month, and any notes together.
- Check your Limited Run Games account’s order history for order-specific details and estimated dates.
- If the preorder is eligible for Purple Dot, check your email for updates and use the Manage Pre-orders portal with the reference information in those messages. Limited Run Games says a shipping-date change triggers an automatic email.
- If the title is marked delayed, check spam for the production-team update the company says should have been sent. If it is missing, contact support.
- For an order-specific issue, submit a support ticket with your order number and relevant details.
Production runs: what the quantity does—and does not—tell you
A production run is not necessarily the same size for every title. Check the specific product page for any stated limit or edition details; do not infer a standard quantity from the company name or from another release. For example, the Another World Nintendo Switch product page described that particular item as limited to 1,000 copies. That is a single-product example, not a company-wide rule, and the page showed the item as sold out when checked on October 4, 2026.

When comparing editions, look at the listed contents, current production stage, estimate and notes, and whether other preorders share the same shipment. A limited quantity does not, by itself, establish whether or when an edition will be restocked.
Combined orders, shipping, and tracking
Limited Run Games says it ships worldwide, subject to restrictions in some countries. Shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on parcel weight, number of items, and destination. If an order contains multiple preorders, the selected shipping service may hold the shipment until every title is complete. Check the arrangement shown for your order if one title appears ready before another.

The General Shipping Information article says tracking can take 14–21 days to update and that packages are considered lost after 21 days without movement, for domestic and international shipments. These are the company’s support guidelines, not a promise that every carrier or destination will scan on that schedule. For a parcel that appears lost, check the current support instructions and contact support as appropriate.
If the package arrives damaged
Contact support with the order number and images of the damage. The company says possible remedies, including replacement or refund, are reviewed case by case.

If tracking says delivered but you have not received it
The order-support article says to contact support within 90 days of the recorded delivery date.

Limited Run Games says eligible preorders can be cancelled through the Purple Dot self-service portal. During the preorder window, changing an order means cancelling the original and placing a new one. The company says it cannot add items to an existing preorder or combine separate orders into one shipment. For in-hand item cancellations, contact support for review. An order cannot be cancelled after digital content has been issued.

The company’s order-support article says customers may request a return or exchange within 90 days of delivery, with eligibility reviewed case by case. Items with an emailed digital key cannot be returned; the stated exception does not apply to keys printed inside a sealed box.
