Google AI Mode does not provide a one-click download of an individual conversation. Its Share command creates a link to the thread as it exists when you share it. If you need account data in a downloadable archive, Google’s documented route is Google Takeout, where Search Services History may include AI Mode responses when that history is enabled. These are different operations: a shared link is for people who have the URL, while Takeout is an account-data export for you.
The labels and availability of history and sharing controls are still rolling out, so your screen may not exactly match another user’s. Use the visible labels in your Google Search or Google app and check Search history settings if a control is missing.
What does Google AI Mode export mean?
In practice, “export” can describe two separate actions. Sharing publishes a snapshot of an AI Mode thread at a Google-generated URL. Downloading means requesting your Google account data through Google Takeout. Google’s help documentation describes the Share action for AI Mode and AI Overviews, but it does not document a separate AI Mode-only file download for one response.

How do I share a Google AI Mode response on a computer?
Open the response you want to send, review the whole thread, and then create the link from the response itself. The link reflects the questions and answers already in that thread at the moment you share it.
- Open Google Search or go directly to
google.com/aiand sign in to the Google account that contains the conversation. - In AI Mode, scroll to the response you want to share and click Share at the bottom of the AI response.
- Choose Copy link to place the URL on your clipboard, or select one of the social platforms Google offers in your interface.
- Paste the copied URL into your message, document, or post. Open the link in a private browser window before sending if you want to check what a recipient will see.
Google recommends turning on history and personalized recommendations for the best sharing experience. Its help page says sharing may be unavailable when that setting is disabled. If the button is absent, open your current Search history settings rather than relying on an older screenshot, because the controls are being updated.

How do I share an AI Mode response on Android?
Use the Google app rather than a generic Android share command. The Share control is attached to the AI Mode response.
- Open the Google app and enter AI Mode.
- Scroll to the response you want to send and tap Share beneath it.
- Tap Copy link, or choose an available social platform from the share options.
- Check the copied URL and the thread contents before forwarding it.
The Android location and behavior are listed in Google’s Android sharing instructions. Account eligibility, history settings, and staged feature rollout can affect whether the control appears.

What will people see when they open a shared AI Mode link?
A shared link includes the questions and responses that already exist in the AI Mode thread when the link is created. It is not limited to the single answer beside the Share button if that answer belongs to a longer thread.
- Existing follow-ups are included. Read upward through the thread before sharing so you know which earlier questions and answers are exposed.
- Later private follow-ups are not added. If you continue asking questions in your original, private thread after creating the link, those later exchanges do not update the previously shared URL.
- A recipient’s follow-up is separate. When someone opens the shared thread and asks another question, Google places that interaction in the recipient’s own private AI Mode history rather than adding it to your shared link.
- The URL can be reshared. Treat anyone who obtains the link as a potential reader and remove personal, confidential, or identifying information before sharing.

Can I download an individual AI Mode conversation?
Google’s current help pages do not describe an AI Mode command that downloads one response or one thread as a standalone text, PDF, or other file. The documented download path is Google Takeout, which exports Google account data. Depending on your account and enabled settings, that archive may contain Search Services History, including AI Mode responses, queries, viewed results, and related activity.
Use Takeout when you need an account-level copy for your own records, migration, or analysis. Select the Search-related data categories that Google presents to your account and follow the export-format and delivery prompts shown there. The exact category names can change as Search Services History rolls out, so do not assume every account will show an identical selection.
Takeout is not a share-link generator and should not be treated as a guaranteed single-thread export. If your goal is to let another person read a specific conversation, Share is the appropriate operation; if your goal is to retain your own Google data, use Takeout.

Google places shared-link controls in AI Mode history. You can copy a link again, remove one link, or remove all links from the management screen.
- Open your AI Mode history.
- Open the More menu.
- Select Manage public links.
- Choose the individual link you want to manage, then copy it again or delete it. Use the available command to delete all public links if you want to revoke every link shown there.
Deleting a shared thread removes the shared content within minutes according to Google’s documentation. That timing is different from deleting the original AI Mode thread: the corresponding shared link may take a few days to disappear. A link that has already been copied, quoted, screenshotted, or redistributed elsewhere is outside Google’s link-management control.

How do I delete AI Mode history?
Deleting a public link and deleting the saved AI Mode conversation are separate actions. To remove saved activity, open AI Mode history, select the relevant entry, and use its delete command. The history menu also provides an option to delete all AI Mode history shown there.

- Open AI Mode history in the Google Search or Google app interface.
- Select a specific entry if you only want to remove one conversation.
- Use the history menu’s delete-all command when you want to clear all AI Mode entries available in that view.
- Open My Activity afterward if you need to check or remove related Search activity separately.
Google says deleted AI Mode searches can remain visible in My Activity for some time, and that they are automatically deleted there in less than 24 hours. You can also delete that activity manually instead of waiting for the automatic cleanup.
A search that began as an AI Overview and then moved into AI Mode may create separate history entries. Removing the AI Mode entry therefore may not remove the original Search history entry; check both places when you need a more complete cleanup. AI Mode history is accessed from the AI Mode interface, while broader Search activity is managed through My Google Activity and Search Services History settings. Google says Search Services History can include queries, viewed results, AI Mode responses, and related activity when the relevant setting is enabled.
These controls are rolling out gradually. An account may show different labels, menu positions, or availability from another account, even on the same device. If you cannot find a setting described in an older guide, open the current Search settings and My Activity pages and follow the labels visible to you.

What should I check before sharing an AI Mode thread?
Use this short privacy check before you create the URL:
- Read the entire existing thread, not only the final answer.
- Remove or rephrase names, addresses, account numbers, health details, work information, or anything else that should remain private.
- Remember that a recipient can forward the link to someone else.
- Decide whether recipients need a live link or whether you need a private account-data archive instead.
- After sharing, return to Manage public links if you need to revoke the URL.
Because later questions in your private thread do not update an existing link, create a new share link only after the version you intend to disclose is complete.
Why is the Share button or history entry missing?
The most common causes are account settings and staged availability rather than a different sharing method. Google recommends enabling history and personalized recommendations for sharing, and its documentation notes that Search history controls are changing during rollout.

- Confirm that you are signed in to the account where the AI Mode thread was created.
- Check the current Search history and Search Services History settings for that account.
- Open the response in Google Search or the Google app’s AI Mode view, not only a browser history page.
- Update the Google app if Android is displaying an older interface, then reopen AI Mode.
- If the thread started as an AI Overview, look for separate AI Overview and AI Mode entries when managing history.
Do not assume that a missing control means the conversation cannot be shared permanently; Google’s rollout means the available labels can differ by account and time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of activity can Search Services History contain besides AI Mode responses?
Google says the service can include your Search queries, results you viewed, AI Mode responses, and related activity when the setting is enabled. The exact categories offered for download or management can vary while the feature rolls out.
How long can a deleted AI Mode search remain in My Activity?
Google says it may remain there for some time after you delete it from AI Mode history. The activity is automatically deleted in My Activity in less than 24 hours, or you can remove it manually sooner.
Can I revoke every shared AI Mode link at once?
Yes. In AI Mode history, open More, choose Manage public links, and use the command to delete all links shown there. This manages Google’s shared-link records; it cannot erase copies that another person saved or reposted.
Why might one search appear as both an AI Overview entry and an AI Mode entry?
A search that starts with an AI Overview and then continues into AI Mode can create separate history records. If you are cleaning up activity, inspect both entries rather than assuming one deletion covers the other.
