StealthWriter is the strongest starting point for a freelancer who needs a recurring free allowance: its published $0 tier lists 10 humanizations and 10 AI scans per day, with up to 1,000 words per input. For short multilingual edits, QuillBot accepts up to 125 words per input; WriteHuman offers three requests per month of up to 250 words each; and Humanize.sh lists five daily requests of up to 200 words each. Those are vendor-published limits, not guarantees of detector performance or authorship.

A humanizer can help revise rhythm and phrasing, but it cannot replace reporting, fact-checking, or a freelancer’s own editorial judgment. The right choice depends on how often you work, how much text you edit at once, and the rules your clients and platforms set for AI assistance.

Which free AI humanizer is best for freelance writers?

For recurring volume, StealthWriter has the largest free allowance among the four tools compared here: its vendor-published free tier includes 10 humanizations per day and a 1,000-word input cap. QuillBot is a better fit for short passages or multilingual work, while WriteHuman suits occasional snippets and Humanize.sh offers several short requests per day.

“Best” does not mean “most likely to pass a detector.” The available information describes tool limits and features, but does not establish universal detector-bypass performance for any of these services. Choose based on the work you need to revise and treat the result as a draft to review, not proof of human authorship.

Quick comparison

Tool Published free allowance Maximum input Detector checks Best fit
StealthWriter 10 humanizations per day 1,000 words per input 10 AI scans per day Repeated use and longer sections
QuillBot Free humanizer; request frequency not stated on the page summarized here 125 words or fewer per input Not stated on the page summarized here Short edits and supported multilingual work
WriteHuman 3 requests per month; one output variation per request 250 words per request 10 detection checks per month Infrequent client snippets
Humanize.sh 5 requests per day 200 words per request Not stated in the plan details summarized here Frequent, short requests

These are vendor-published plan limits; free tiers and product features can change. Check the relevant vendor page before building a client workflow around a particular quota. The limits do not establish how well a tool will handle a specific assignment.

How should a freelancer choose a tool?

Start with the shape of your workload: how many passages you revise, how long they are, and whether a monthly or daily allowance better matches your schedule. A large per-input cap is useful only if you also have enough requests to cover your workload.

Match the limit to the work

  • Longer sections or frequent use: StealthWriter’s listed 1,000-word input cap and 10 daily humanizations mean less need to split a section into small pieces. Its free tier also lists 10 daily AI scans.
  • Short passages in several languages: QuillBot accepts 125 words or fewer per input and describes support for Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, and four English dialects. Its short input limit makes it more suitable for targeted edits than for processing a long article in one request.
  • Occasional requests: WriteHuman’s three monthly requests, each up to 250 words, suit infrequent use better than a daily production routine. The plan also lists one output variation per request and 10 detection checks per month.
  • Several small tasks in a day: Humanize.sh lists five free requests daily, with a 200-word cap per request. That is a recurring daily allowance, but it is divided into short inputs.

Account, privacy, and workflow details to check

The plan details summarized for these tools do not establish whether an account is required, how long submitted text is retained, whether it may be used to improve a service, or what controls are available for deleting it. Those are important questions for client work, especially when a draft contains unpublished material, confidential details, or personal information. Read each service’s current terms and privacy disclosures before submitting such text.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The available plan descriptions also do not provide a consistent comparison of output controls. WriteHuman lists one output variation on its free plan; the other listed plan details do not establish comparable controls. Do not assume that a tool can preserve a particular tone, voice, or formatting unless the service itself documents that feature and you have checked the output.

How do the free limits affect a real freelance workflow?

Request caps and word caps create different kinds of friction. A daily allowance can support recurring work, while a monthly allowance may be consumed quickly during a busy week. A per-input cap can also turn one editing task into several submissions, which adds handling time and makes it harder to keep a consistent voice across the whole piece.

Estimate the number of requests before starting

Divide the passage into chunks no longer than the service’s stated input cap. For example, a 900-word section fits within StealthWriter’s published 1,000-word cap as one input. At the listed caps, the same section would require at least four requests in WriteHuman, five in Humanize.sh, or eight in QuillBot. Those counts are arithmetic based on the stated maximums, not a claim that each tool will produce equivalent results across multiple submissions.

Chunking has an editorial cost. Separate outputs may repeat phrasing, shift tone, or fail to connect cleanly at the joins. If you split a section, read the entire revised passage as one piece and repair transitions, terminology, and repeated ideas yourself. Do not treat a sequence of tool outputs as a finished article.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Plan around recurring versus monthly quotas

StealthWriter and Humanize.sh publish daily request limits; WriteHuman publishes a monthly request limit. A daily quota may be useful when requests are spread across working days, whereas a monthly quota is easier to exhaust in a concentrated project. QuillBot’s page, as summarized here, gives the per-input word cap but does not state a comparable request frequency, so confirm the current limit before using it for recurring work.

Detection-check allowances should be planned separately from humanization requests. StealthWriter lists 10 AI scans per day, and WriteHuman lists 10 detection checks per month. A scan is a tool output, not an editorial verdict: it does not verify that the facts are correct, that a client permits AI assistance, or that a passage has a particular author.

Can a free humanizer pass GPTZero, Turnitin, or another detector?

No reliable guarantee of passing GPTZero, Turnitin, or another detector is established by the information available for these tools. Humanize.sh advertises “100% undetectable” output and detector bypass, but that is a vendor claim—not independently demonstrated universal performance.

Detector results can vary with the text, topic, and detector version. Humanize AI’s transparency page reports arithmetic means across 20 topics and four detectors, with results dated 1 September 2025, and cautions that scores vary by text, topic, and detector version. Those averages are not a prediction for an individual freelance article. Detector scores are signals, not proof of who wrote a passage or a guarantee that a submission will pass.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A separate comparison source, Draqee, says it checked official pricing pages for its quota figures and explicitly states that it did not run hands-on bypass tests against Turnitin or GPTZero. That distinction matters: verifying a plan limit is not the same as testing detector performance. Do not infer a test result from a pricing comparison or a vendor’s promotional language.

How can you use a humanizer without weakening your work?

Use a humanizer, if appropriate, as one editing aid among others. Preserve the facts, sourcing, and intended meaning, and make the final editorial decisions yourself. A changed sentence is not automatically clearer, more accurate, original, or compliant with a client’s rules.

  1. Check the assignment first. Review the client’s, employer’s, school’s, or platform’s rules on AI assistance and disclosure. QuillBot specifically advises users to follow institutional or workplace AI guidelines and acknowledge AI assistance where required.
  2. Remove material you should not submit. Before pasting a draft into a service, consider whether it contains confidential client information, personal data, unpublished reporting, or material restricted by a contract. Review the service’s current privacy and retention disclosures; the plan limits listed here do not answer those questions.
  3. Use a passage that fits the input cap. If the passage is too long, split it into coherent sections and keep track of the original sequence. Avoid splitting in the middle of a quotation, argument, or tightly connected explanation.
  4. Compare the output against the source draft. Check every factual statement, name, number, quotation, attribution, and qualification. Restore any detail that has been dropped or changed, and remove unsupported additions.
  5. Read the full piece aloud or in context. Look for awkward joins, repetitive wording, a shift away from the client’s voice, and sentences that sound polished but obscure the point.
  6. Run the normal editorial checks. Verify sources and links, check the piece against the brief, and follow the required disclosure process. A detector scan cannot substitute for these steps.

What are the main trade-offs between these tools?

The clearest comparison is between recurring volume and passage size. StealthWriter has the largest stated input cap and a daily allowance; Humanize.sh also has a daily allowance but a much smaller per-request cap. WriteHuman’s monthly cap makes it a limited-use option, while QuillBot’s documented strengths are short inputs and language coverage.

Decision factor What the published details establish What they do not establish
Recurring volume StealthWriter lists 10 humanizations daily; Humanize.sh lists 5 requests daily; WriteHuman lists 3 monthly requests. Whether these quotas will remain unchanged or meet a particular writer’s workload.
Passage length StealthWriter: up to 1,000 words; WriteHuman: up to 250; Humanize.sh: up to 200; QuillBot: 125 or fewer. Equivalent output quality across tools or across repeated chunks.
Detector checks StealthWriter lists 10 AI scans daily; WriteHuman lists 10 checks monthly. Universal detector passage, reliable authorship identification, or agreement between detectors.
Language support QuillBot describes Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, and four English dialects. Equivalent language coverage or quality for the other tools.
Account requirement Not stated in the plan details summarized here. Whether signup is required for each free tier.
Privacy and retention Not stated in the plan details summarized here. How submitted text is stored, retained, used, or deleted.

Secondary comparison information from Scribbr lists other free input limits: Phrasly at 300 words, WriteSonic at 200 words per scan, AI Humanize at 200 words, Humanizer.org at 80 words, and HumanizeAI.pro at 400 words. These are secondary-source figures rather than a verified comparison of each vendor’s current plan, so confirm them with the relevant service before relying on them. They are not necessary to choose among the four tools above.

What is the practical recommendation for freelance writers?

If you revise substantial sections on a regular basis, start by checking whether StealthWriter’s published free quota still fits your workload. For occasional snippets, WriteHuman’s small monthly allowance may be sufficient. QuillBot is the most clearly documented option here for short multilingual passages, and Humanize.sh offers multiple daily short requests—but its detector-bypass language should be treated as marketing, not a proven outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do free AI humanizers require you to create an account?

The plan details compared here do not establish signup requirements for any of the four services. Check the current service page and signup flow before relying on anonymous access, especially if you need to submit client material.

Can I use a humanizer on client work without telling the client?

That depends on the agreement and the client’s AI policy, not on the tool’s free tier. Review the contract and ask for clarification when it does not explain whether AI-assisted editing is allowed or must be disclosed.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Should I paste confidential drafts into a free humanizer?

Not until you have checked the service’s current privacy terms, retention practices, and deletion options. A free-plan quota says nothing about how a service handles the text you submit.

Is a humanized passage automatically original?

No. Rewording alone does not establish originality, correct attribution, or permission to use source material. Review the passage against your sources and the assignment requirements before delivery.
