Its Steam listing includes Steam Cloud, while Xbox Wire describes the Xbox release as an Xbox Play Anywhere title that carries progress across supported Xbox platforms. PlayStation’s US listing says online play is optional and describes offline play on PS5. None of those statements confirms that a save can move between Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. Does Dispatch support cross-progression?
Dispatch supports progress continuity inside the supported Xbox Play Anywhere ecosystem, but cross-progression between Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox is not confirmed. A cloud-save label and a cross-platform entitlement are separate features, so the safest answer depends on which devices you plan to use.
What is confirmed for Xbox
An Xbox Wire announcement dated March 26, 2026, from AdHoc Studio’s Senior Social Media Manager Ralph Pineda describes Dispatch as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. The announcement says players can purchase the game once and take their progress across supported Xbox platforms. In context, that covers the Xbox release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, supported gaming handhelds, and Xbox Cloud services named in the announcement.
This is a continuity promise within the supported Xbox ecosystem. It should not be expanded into a claim that an Xbox save automatically appears in the Steam or PlayStation version. The announcement does not describe a Steam-to-Xbox, PlayStation-to-Xbox, or Xbox-to-PlayStation import process.

Does Dispatch have cloud saves?

What Steam Cloud tells you
Steam’s Dispatch listing names Steam Cloud among the game’s features. Steam Support explains that each developer chooses how Cloud is used and which user files are uploaded. Therefore, the listing establishes availability of the service, not a guarantee that every local setting, profile, or save slot is synchronized.
Steam Cloud is designed for continuity among installations using the same Steam ecosystem. For example, a player may expect a supported save to be available after signing in to Steam on another PC, subject to the game’s own file configuration. That expectation does not extend to a PlayStation or Xbox installation, which uses a different storefront and account environment.
Why a cloud-save label is not cross-progression
Cloud saving answers “where can this storefront keep my files?” Cross-progression answers “can the same progress be recognized by another platform’s version and account?” The first can exist without the second. Dispatch’s Steam Cloud label and Xbox Play Anywhere description should consequently be read as two separate, platform-scoped capabilities.

What happens when Steam is offline
Steam Support says that a game played in Offline Mode does not synchronize with Steam Cloud until the computer is online again. If a local file changes while another copy remains in the cloud, Steam can report a conflict when synchronization resumes. The player may then have to choose which version to keep; the game-specific listing does not state how Dispatch presents or resolves that choice.
Can I play Dispatch offline?
On PS5, yes: the US PlayStation Store listing marks online play as optional and specifically describes pausing during gameplay or cinematics in offline play. That is direct evidence for offline-capable PS5 play, but it is not a statement that every platform has identical offline behavior.

What the PS5 listing confirms
The PlayStation listing says “Online play optional.” It also states that gameplay or cinematics can be paused at any time during offline play. Together, those labels indicate that an internet connection is not required for the described PS5 gameplay scenario.
The wording does not explain whether the first installation, a title update, downloadable content, account authentication, or a license check must occur online. It also does not establish whether cloud synchronization can run while disconnected; cloud operations necessarily wait until a connection is available.
Offline play and cloud synchronization are different
You can play a game locally while disconnected and still have no current cloud copy. For Steam, synchronization is held until the account reconnects. On PS5, the store listing supports offline play, while the available Dispatch-specific material does not spell out the timing of save uploads or any conflict-resolution screen.

What remains platform-specific
The available official descriptions do not provide a single checklist for Xbox, Xbox on PC, handheld devices, Steam, and PlayStation. Requirements may vary by edition, device, ownership method, updates, and account status. There is no confirmed transfer path in the official material available for Dispatch. Steam Cloud covers Steam’s ecosystem, and Xbox Play Anywhere covers supported Xbox platforms; neither source documents a cross-storefront import to or from PlayStation.
Steam to PS5
No Dispatch-specific Steam-to-PS5 export, account-linking procedure, or save-conversion tool is identified. A Steam Cloud file is not automatically a PlayStation save simply because both versions contain the same game. Unless an official update adds a supported transfer feature, plan on the two ecosystems having separate progress.
Steam to Xbox

PlayStation to Xbox

Neither source supplies a PlayStation-to-Xbox migration instruction. A player changing ecosystems should therefore treat the move as unconfirmed until a current platform listing or developer announcement explicitly explains otherwise.

The practical distinction is between cloud synchronization, progress continuity across an ecosystem, and the ability to play without an active connection.

Choosing a platform when progress continuity matters
- Moving among Xbox devices: The Play Anywhere statement is the clearest continuity option, provided the devices are among those supported by the Xbox release.
- Using multiple PCs: Steam Cloud is listed, so Steam-to-Steam continuity is the relevant expectation. The game’s configuration determines which files actually travel.
- Playing without an internet connection: PS5 has an explicit offline-play statement. Steam can run in Offline Mode, but Cloud synchronization waits until reconnection.
- Switching storefronts: Do not buy on one platform assuming the save will be recognized on another; no official transfer workflow is established.
What should I do before playing offline or changing devices?
A few precautions reduce the chance of losing a newer local save or misunderstanding what a platform feature covers.
- Finish installation and updates while online. The official listings do not state universal first-launch or license-check rules, so complete setup and any available update before disconnecting.
- Launch the game once on the platform you will use. This lets the platform create its local profile and confirms that the purchased edition starts correctly before you rely on offline play.
- Allow cloud synchronization to finish before switching devices. On Steam, wait for the client to report that Cloud is current. If you close the client while files are still changing, the local and cloud copies may diverge.
- Keep the device with the newest progress available. If Steam later reports a conflict, compare the timestamps or contents shown by the client and keep the copy that contains the intended progress. Do not delete either version until you have made that decision.
- Reconnect before moving to another device. Offline progress cannot upload while disconnected. Reconnect on the original device first, then give the platform time to complete synchronization.
- Use the same platform account for ecosystem continuity. Play Anywhere and Steam Cloud operate through their respective account systems. The available Dispatch material does not define cross-account sharing.
What are the most common mistakes?
Assuming “cloud” means cross-console saves
A cloud label usually describes storage and synchronization managed by one platform holder. It does not, by itself, create a common save format or entitlement across competing storefronts.
Reading Play Anywhere as “every version shares progress”
Play Anywhere is the Xbox program named in the announcement. Its scope is the supported Xbox platforms listed there, not every PC or console edition that happens to sell Dispatch.
Disconnecting before a save is synchronized
Steam’s documentation warns that offline changes wait for reconnection and can produce a conflict if another copy changed elsewhere. Treat the local save as the only current copy until synchronization has completed.

Assuming offline means “never needs internet”
The PS5 store wording supports offline play, but it does not answer installation, patching, downloadable-content, or account-check requirements. Plan the first setup while connected even if your later sessions will be offline.
