Gameplay from the PlayStation 5 remake of Demon’s Souls has been demonstrated in KytyPS5, an unofficial, early-stage PS5 emulator. That is meaningful compatibility progress, but it does not show that the entire game is stable or playable from start to finish. A separate report of the remake running at 120 FPS also needs context: it describes a user demonstration with DLSS and 4× Frame Generation, not an independently verified benchmark.
What “emulated on PC” means here
This is the PS5 remake running through KytyPS5, not a Sony PC release. KytyPS5 describes itself as a free, open-source PlayStation 5 emulator. Its project documentation says compatibility is limited and behavior may change substantially between builds. Reaching gameplay is therefore a milestone, not proof of a stable, complete playthrough. KytyPS5 project documentation
The project also says it is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment and does not distribute games or copyrighted system software. It instructs users to use game files they obtained legally; that is the project’s stated policy, not a ruling on the law in every jurisdiction. KytyPS5 project documentation

What the reported frame rates do—and don’t—show
| Report | What was described | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| iXBT.games, October 3, 2026 | A user demonstration at 4K and 120 FPS, with NVIDIA DLSS and 4× Frame Generation. Report | A reported demonstration, not an independently reproduced benchmark. The report does not establish that the result is reproducible on a public KytyPS5 build or distinguish generated frames from rendered frames. |
| Tom’s Hardware, September 28, 2026 | Approximately 40–50 FPS on an RTX 5090 and Core i9-14900K. Report | Third-party reporting of footage on high-end hardware; it should not be treated as a typical result for other PCs. |
These figures are not directly comparable. They come from separate reports, and the available reporting does not establish matching emulator builds, scenes, settings, stability, or measurement methods. In particular, the 120 FPS figure includes DLSS and 4× Frame Generation, so it should not be presented as a verified native rendering rate.

Is the remake fully playable now?
The available demonstrations support saying that gameplay has been reached. They do not establish a stable end-to-end run, sustained performance across the game, or the absence of visual and technical errors. KytyPS5 itself warns that compatibility is limited and can change between builds. KytyPS5 project documentation
For now, “the remake has been demonstrated in gameplay on an emulator” is more accurate than “the full game is playable on PC.” The reported 120 FPS clip remains a reported result; the cited coverage does not independently verify it on a public build.
