For most small meeting rooms, the Jabra Speak2 75 is the strongest specification-based starting point because it combines four beamforming noise-cancelling microphones with the broadest published room guidance in this group. Choose the HP Poly Sync 20 when portability and battery endurance matter most, the Yealink CP700 for a lightweight personal or huddle-room unit, or the AnkerWork PowerConf S500 when its longer published pickup distance and larger battery fit your layout. These are not laboratory rankings: manufacturers measure room coverage and pickup differently, and no standardized independent head-to-head test was identified. Treat the figures as planning guidance, then verify the exact model and platform certification before ordering.

Which Bluetooth conference phone is best for your meeting room?

The best choice depends on three practical questions: how far people sit from the device, whether the unit must run for a full day away from a charger, and which meeting software your organization certifies. The table below puts the published specifications on one line so you can eliminate unsuitable models quickly.

Model Published room and pickup figures Connectivity and processing Mobility and power Platform evidence
Jabra Speak2 75 Room guidance up to 4.5 m × 4.5 m; microphone pickup up to 2.5 m; Jabra specification, 2025 Four digital MEMS beamforming, noise-cancelling microphones; 65 mm speaker; Bluetooth and USB details such as version are not stated in the cited specification IP64-rated enclosure; weight and battery runtime are not stated in the cited specification Microsoft Teams certification and Google Meet-related certification are listed; verify the exact SKU
HP Poly Sync 20 Room guidance up to 4 m × 4 m; microphone pickup up to 2 m; HP Poly specification page, 2026 Three-microphone steerable array; Bluetooth 5.x and USB connection; echo and noise processing are built into the speakerphone design Up to 20 hours maximum talk time; IP64; weight and battery capacity are not stated in the cited specification Listed in Microsoft Teams certified-device directory; verify the exact variant
Yealink CP700 Microphone pickup up to 1.5 m; published room dimensions are not stated in the cited datasheet USB 2.0 and Bluetooth; noise suppression, digital signal processing and acoustic echo cancellation; Bluetooth range up to 30 m 220 g; up to 9 hours talk time Teams integration; Microsoft directory includes a CP700 entry
AnkerWork PowerConf S500 Voice pickup up to 5 m; published room dimensions are not stated in the cited user guide Four microphones; Bluetooth 5.4; Bluetooth range up to 20 m Up to 13 hours call time; 6,000 mAh battery Certification status is not stated in the cited material

Every distance and runtime is a manufacturer-published maximum or guidance figure, not a promise that every participant will be heard equally. Furniture, glass, HVAC noise, speech volume and the placement of the unit can reduce usable coverage.

How should you match a speakerphone to room size?

Use the manufacturer’s room guidance as a first filter, then map the microphone pickup distance to the farthest talker. A square room with a central table is easier than a long room with people seated in a line, even when both have the same floor area.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Small rooms and four-person tables

For a compact room where everyone sits close to the center of the table, the Jabra Speak2 75 and HP Poly Sync 20 provide the clearest published room guidance. Their microphone arrays are designed to collect speech from more than one direction while reducing room noise. Choose between them based on whether you value the Jabra’s four-microphone beamforming design or the Poly’s longer stated talk-time figure.

Personal desks and huddle spaces

The Yealink CP700 is the easiest model here to carry between a desk and a small huddle area. Its low weight, USB connection and built-in echo processing suit one or two people who need better audio than a laptop microphone without installing a permanent room system.

Rooms with seats spread farther from the center

The AnkerWork PowerConf S500 has the longest published voice-pickup distance in this comparison. That figure can be useful when a table is wider or participants cannot sit close to the unit, but it does not establish a larger certified room area. Check the physical layout and test speech from the farthest seat before relying on it for a large group.

Why is the Jabra Speak2 75 the best default pick?

Jabra’s 2025 technical material gives the Speak2 75 the most complete room-oriented specification in this group. Four digital MEMS microphones use beamforming and noise cancellation, allowing the unit to emphasize active talkers while limiting some steady background sound. A 65 mm speaker is intended to keep the far end intelligible in a small meeting room, and the enclosure carries an IP64 rating for dust protection and water splashes.

Its published room guidance is the broadest of the listed models, making it the sensible first shortlist for a typical small conference room. The figure is guidance rather than a measured acoustic boundary: a highly reflective room or a noisy ventilation system can make a smaller space harder than the nominal dimensions suggest.

Jabra lists Microsoft Teams and Google Meet-related certifications. Certification applies to specific variants and firmware combinations, so match the part number in your purchasing system with the current directory entry rather than assuming every regional package is identical.

Choose it when

  • You need a central table speakerphone for a small room and want the strongest published room guidance.
  • Speech pickup from several directions and active noise reduction are more important than published battery figures.
  • Your organization standardizes on a certified Teams or Meet setup.

Check before buying

  • The cited material does not state a battery runtime, battery capacity or microphone Bluetooth version, so confirm those details if cordless endurance is a requirement.
  • Room guidance is not an independent laboratory result; arrange a return or evaluation path if the room has difficult acoustics.

When is the HP Poly Sync 20 a better choice?

The HP Poly Sync 20 is the practical pick when a device must move between rooms and remain available through long meeting days. Its three-microphone steerable array is designed to aim sensitivity toward talkers, while the USB connection provides a predictable wired path when Bluetooth is undesirable. Bluetooth 5.x is listed in the specification, and the enclosure is rated IP64.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

HP Poly publishes up to 20 hours of maximum talk time, the longest stated runtime in this comparison. Maximum figures depend on volume, radio use, temperature and battery age; treat the number as a planning ceiling rather than a guaranteed workday result. The specification also gives room guidance and pickup distance suitable for a compact meeting room, but the same acoustic caveats apply as with every model here.

The model appears in Microsoft’s certified-device directory. Certification is useful for call controls and predictable audio behavior, but it does not remove the need to select the correct input and output device in your operating system and meeting application.

Choose it when

  • Long untethered meetings are common and recharging between calls is inconvenient.
  • You want both USB and Bluetooth connection options in one portable unit.
  • Your IT team needs a Teams-certified speakerphone with a steerable microphone array.

Check before buying

  • Confirm whether the exact regional model includes the accessories your rooms require, such as the intended USB cable or carrying case.
  • Do not interpret the maximum runtime as continuous music playback or as a guarantee at high speaker volume.

Is the Yealink CP700 suitable for a personal desk or huddle room?

Yes. The Yealink CP700 is the lightest explicitly specified option in this comparison and is aimed at users who need a compact speakerphone they can carry to a desk, shared room or temporary meeting space. Its USB 2.0 and Bluetooth connections let you choose a wired link for reliability or a wireless link for a clean table.

Yealink lists noise suppression, digital signal processing and acoustic echo cancellation. Those functions address the most common problems in small rooms: a microphone picking up its own loudspeaker, steady background noise and speech that becomes muddy after transmission. The published Bluetooth range is intended for ordinary office movement, while the microphone pickup specification is more conservative than the figures published for the other models.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The CP700 can pair with three devices simultaneously, according to Yealink’s statement. Multi-device pairing does not mean that three calls can use the speakerphone at once; it means the unit can remember or maintain links so you can switch hosts without repeating the entire pairing process. Teams integration is listed, and a CP700 entry appears in Microsoft’s certified-device directory.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

Choose it when

  • One person or a very small group needs a travel-friendly conference phone.
  • You prefer a clearly documented wired USB path and straightforward echo control.
  • Several personal devices need to remain paired for quick switching.

Check before buying

  • Its published pickup distance is intended for close seating; do not use it as a substitute for a room system in a wide conference table.
  • The cited datasheet does not provide a room-size recommendation, so test the farthest seat in your actual layout.

When does the AnkerWork PowerConf S500 make sense?

The AnkerWork PowerConf S500 is worth considering when you prioritize a long stated voice-pickup distance and a large battery over formal platform-certification evidence. It uses four microphones, Bluetooth 5.4 and a published Bluetooth range of up to 20 m. The user guide states a 5 m voice-pickup distance and a 6,000 mAh battery, with up to 13 hours of call time.

Those figures make the S500 attractive for a table where participants sit farther from the center or where the unit must run through several meetings before charging. The cited material does not provide a standardized room-size recommendation or a Microsoft certification listing, so treat it as a specification-led choice rather than a compliance-led purchase.

Choose it when

  • The table layout puts some talkers farther away than a compact huddle-room design expects.
  • You want a high-capacity battery and modern Bluetooth radio on the specification sheet.
  • Your team can perform its own compatibility and audio test instead of requiring a certified-device list.

Check before buying

  • The user-guide publication date is not stated in the cited material; confirm that the current hardware and firmware match the specifications you are using.
  • Longer pickup distance does not automatically mean better intelligibility in a reverberant or noisy room.

How do Microsoft Teams and other platform certifications affect your choice?

Certification indicates that a manufacturer and the platform vendor have validated a particular device family for expected controls and audio behavior. Microsoft’s certified-device directory includes the Jabra Speak2 75, HP Poly Sync 20 and Yealink CP700. Certification status and the exact supported variant can change, so check the current directory using the complete model or SKU.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A certified device can still sound poor if the wrong microphone is selected, the speaker is muted at the operating-system level or the room creates strong echo. Certification should narrow compatibility risk, not replace a short call test. The cited material lists Google Meet-related certification for the Jabra model; no equivalent certification claim is established here for the AnkerWork unit.

Should you use Bluetooth, USB, or both?

Use USB when the speakerphone will stay at one workstation or when your organization wants a predictable wired audio path. Use Bluetooth when the unit must move between a laptop and a phone, when cable clutter is a problem, or when the host device is not close to the table. Keeping both options available gives you a fallback if wireless pairing fails during a meeting.

Pair only with the host you intend to use before the call. On a computer, open the system’s Bluetooth settings, put the speakerphone into pairing mode, select its name, and then choose it separately as the microphone and speaker in your meeting application. If you connect by USB, select the speakerphone’s USB audio entry instead of leaving the application on the laptop microphone.

How should you set up a Bluetooth conference phone?

  1. Charge and update. Fully charge a cordless unit. If the manufacturer provides firmware software, apply updates before the first important meeting and restart the device afterward.
  2. Choose the connection. Connect the USB cable for a fixed workstation, or enable Bluetooth pairing for a mobile setup. Disconnect unused hosts that could capture the call unexpectedly.
  3. Select input and output. In your operating-system sound settings, choose the conference phone for both microphone and speaker. Then open the meeting application’s audio settings and select the same device there.
  4. Place it centrally. Put the unit on the table with a clear path to each talker. Keep it away from laptop vents, docking stations, loud power supplies and the edge where it could be blocked by a screen.
  5. Set a moderate level. Start at a middle speaker volume. Excessive volume increases the chance that the microphones will pick up the loudspeaker and trigger echo processing.
  6. Run a test call. Use the application’s test function or call a colleague. Speak from the nearest and farthest seats, listen for clipping or room echo, and confirm that mute controls work on both the device and the application.
  7. Document the setup. Record the selected input, output and connection type for the room. A one-page instruction card prevents users from reverting to a laptop microphone at the start of the next meeting.

What placement and room conditions matter most?

Keep the microphone path open

Do not place notebooks, water bottles or a monitor directly between the microphone array and a talker. A central, unobstructed position usually gives more even pickup than placing the device beside one participant.

Control reflective surfaces

Glass walls, bare desks and hard ceilings reflect speech and loudspeaker output. Curtains, acoustic panels, carpet and soft furniture reduce reflections. If you cannot change the room, lower the speaker volume and move the unit away from the nearest wall.

Separate noise sources

Air-conditioning outlets, projectors and open doors can dominate a microphone’s noise-reduction workload. Close doors, redirect airflow where possible and avoid placing the speakerphone next to a laptop fan.

Do not infer multi-unit coverage

The specifications describe each speakerphone as a single device. They do not establish that two units can be linked for synchronized room coverage. If one unit cannot reach the farthest seat, use a room-audio system designed for multiple microphones rather than assuming that adding another identical unit will behave as one array.

What problems are most common, and how do you fix them?

  • The other side hears no speech. Check the application’s selected microphone, the device mute button and the operating-system privacy permission. Reconnect the USB cable or remove and re-pair Bluetooth.
  • You hear your own voice or a delayed repeat. Reduce speaker volume, move the unit farther from a wall, and make sure only one connected computer is playing the call audio.
  • Speech cuts out when people talk together. Confirm that the application is using the conference phone rather than a laptop microphone. Move talkers closer to the center and reduce nearby noise; aggressive noise suppression can mistake overlapping voices for noise.
  • Bluetooth pairing succeeds but the call uses the laptop speakers. Select the conference phone explicitly as both input and output in the meeting application after pairing. Some operating systems create separate high-quality playback and headset profiles; choose the profile that exposes the microphone.
  • Battery ends before the meeting. Connect USB power, lower speaker volume, and charge between sessions. Maximum talk-time figures are measured under particular conditions and decline as the battery ages.
  • Teams does not show call controls. Verify the exact certified model and current firmware, then reconnect it after the application starts. A similarly named regional variant may not have identical integration.

What are the limits of these published specifications?

The manufacturers do not use one common test method for room guidance, pickup distance or talk time. A 5 m pickup claim and a 4 m × 4 m room recommendation measure different things, so they cannot be converted into a single ranking. Use the figures to shortlist devices, then test speech from every planned seat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a Bluetooth conference phone work with a smartphone that has no Bluetooth?

A phone without Bluetooth cannot use a wireless conference phone directly. If the phone supports USB audio through an appropriate adapter, a wired connection may work, but adapter compatibility and power requirements vary by handset; test the complete combination before relying on it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is it safe to leave a conference phone connected to USB all day?

Most business speakerphones are designed to operate while connected to USB power, but charging behavior differs by model. Keep the unit ventilated, use the supplied or manufacturer-approved cable, and follow the current manual for battery-care guidance.

What does full-duplex audio change during a meeting?

Full-duplex processing allows people on both ends to speak and be heard at the same time instead of one side being cut off while the other talks. It works best when only one device in the room is sending and playing the call audio.

Why can a device meet its pickup specification yet still sound quiet at the far end?

Pickup distance describes whether a microphone can detect speech, not how loud or intelligible that speech will be after processing. A low speaking voice, a blocked microphone, reverberant walls or competing HVAC noise can reduce intelligibility even when the talker is within the stated distance.
