The best Pixel Watch 5 alternative depends on what you want to change: choose the OnePlus Watch 3 if longer intervals between charges matter most, a Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 for Samsung’s current Wear OS option, or the Galaxy Watch 7 if you want to spend less. If you prefer Google’s watch ecosystem, consider the Pixel Watch 4—but check availability and price before choosing it.

Choose by what matters most
If battery life is your priority
The OnePlus Watch 3 is the clearest alternative if you want a full smartwatch but dislike charging often. TechRadar lists up to 120 hours, and describes it as the battery-life leader among full smartwatches in its guide. “Up to” is a specification, not a guarantee of how long your watch will last: actual runtime depends on use and settings.
TechRadar also lists up to 100 hours for the Galaxy Watch 8. Treat that number cautiously: the guide’s figure may vary by model or settings, so verify it against the manufacturer’s information for the version you intend to buy.

If you want Samsung’s Wear OS experience
The Galaxy Watch 8 is the current Samsung choice in TechRadar’s comparison, which lists Wear OS 6 and One UI Watch 8. Samsung’s phone compatibility requirements do not establish that every health feature works on every compatible Android handset. Check the specific feature you need against Samsung’s information for your phone and region before buying.
If you want to spend less on Samsung
The Galaxy Watch 7 is TechRadar’s lower-spend Samsung recommendation. Because prices and remaining stock change, compare its actual checkout price with the Galaxy Watch 8 rather than assuming the older watch is automatically the better deal.

If you want to stay with Google
The Pixel Watch 4 is a reasonable predecessor to consider if you value Google’s watch ecosystem more than having the newest hardware. TechRadar identifies two trade-offs versus the Pixel Watch 5: half the storage and no latest Gemini Intelligence. It also says Google will stop selling the Watch 4 officially, which makes availability and third-party pricing important parts of the decision.

Android version requirements differ by watch, and meeting the stated minimum does not guarantee that every handset or feature will work. Google’s Pixel Watch compatibility page says Pixel Watch 5 requires Android 12.0 or newer and does not support iPhones. Google also lists regional availability; cellular features require an activated carrier plan and may incur fees.

- Decide which ecosystem fits. Choose based on the phone integration and watch features you actually use, and verify that any Samsung health feature you want works on your handset.
- Set a realistic battery expectation. Treat listed durations as maximum specifications, not guaranteed everyday results; settings and use affect runtime.
- Check comfort and size. Compare the available case size and fit for your wrist before deciding, especially if you plan to wear the watch overnight or during exercise.
- Compare current prices and stock. Prices and availability were not checked for this article; compare the models available to you at checkout, including older-generation options.
