Yes—with a caveat. In Tom’s Guide’s 10-mile run, the Beats 360 stayed secure, including downhill, and did not feel excessively heavy or bulky to the reviewer. The trade-off was heat: the ear cushions were damp afterward and took about five hours to dry. They make the most sense for runners who specifically want over-ear headphones, not for everyone looking for the coolest, least bulky workout fit.
How did the Beats 360 perform over 10 miles?
Tom’s Guide reviewer reported that the Beats 360 stayed in place throughout a 10-mile run, including downhill sections. The reviewer did not experience undue pressure on the ears or find the headphones too heavy or bulky. That is a useful real-world result, but it comes from one person’s run; it does not establish that the fit will work as well for every head shape, pace, or route. Tom’s Guide’s 10-mile test
What are the trade-offs for running?
Heat, sweat, and drying
Over-ear cups cover the ears, so they can feel warmer than earbuds during exercise. In the same run, the reviewer’s cushions were damp at the finish and took around five hours to dry. If you run frequently, a second compatible cushion kit could let one set dry while you use the other; Beats sells cushion kits separately. Check current compatibility, stock, and price before buying. The reviewer felt pressure where conventional glasses or sunglasses arms met the earcups. Cord-style glasses avoided the issue during that test. If you wear glasses, try the fit with your usual frames before relying on the headphones for long runs. Tom’s Guide’s 10-mile test

Weight and movement in other workouts
WIRED also sees workouts as a strength for the Beats 360, but its reviewer notes warmth, more weight than earbuds, and some shifting during certain exercises. That is a separate publication’s assessment, not a controlled comparison with other headphones. It suggests that a secure running fit does not automatically mean the headphones will suit every kind of training. WIRED review
What does IPX4 mean for sweaty runs?
Beats rates the headphones IPX4 for sweat and water resistance. The company says the rating was established through controlled laboratory testing for non-water sports and exercise; it is not a claim that the headphones are waterproof. Beats also warns that resistance is not permanent and may decrease with normal wear. Beats launch announcement · Beats product specifications

That rating is relevant to exercise, but it does not remove the need to care for the cushions: the 10-mile reviewer found them damp after running, and they needed time to dry. The available evidence does not establish how the headphones hold up after repeated sweaty runs.

Who should consider the Beats 360 for running?
- Consider them if you want an over-ear design and value the secure fit reported in the 10-mile test.
- Look at earbuds instead if ventilation, a smaller fit, or less weight matters more than over-ear coverage. WIRED considers workout earbuds such as Powerbeats Pro 2 preferable for many workouts, while describing the Beats 360 as one of the stronger over-ear options. WIRED review
- Test carefully first if you wear conventional glasses or plan to use them for exercises involving more movement than steady running.
- Plan for cushion drying if you expect to run in them often; a compatible spare kit is optional, not a requirement.
