The right Airtel Xstream Fiber plan depends on three decisions: the speed your household needs, whether you want Airtel TV and OTT benefits, and whether you prefer monthly billing or an advance-rental tenure. Airtel’s catalogue lists tiers from 40 Mbps to 1 Gbps, but prices are before GST and availability or bundled benefits can vary by location.
This guide explains the current prices, the ₹1,500 installation advance and waiver rules, what “unlimited” means under Airtel’s Fair Usage Policy, how to change a plan in the Airtel App, and what happens to Airtel equipment when you disconnect.
Airtel Xstream Fiber plan prices and speeds
Airtel’s current catalogue lists the following monthly rentals. Every amount in the table is before GST. The words “up to” describe the advertised maximum speed, not a guarantee that every device will reach it over Wi-Fi. Airtel also notes that OTT and TV benefits can differ by tier and geography.
| Monthly rental (before GST) | Advertised speed | TV or OTT position in the catalogue | Availability note |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹499 | Up to 40 Mbps | Broadband tier; OTT and TV benefits vary by tier | Catalogue availability applies |
| ₹599 | Up to 30 Mbps | Broadband tier; OTT and TV benefits vary by tier | Select geographies |
| ₹699 | Up to 40 Mbps | Broadband tier; OTT and TV benefits vary by tier | Select geographies |
| ₹799 | Up to 100 Mbps | Broadband tier; OTT and TV benefits vary by tier | Catalogue availability applies |
| ₹899 | Up to 100 Mbps | Broadband with TV | Catalogue availability applies |
| ₹999 | Up to 100 Mbps | Broadband tier; OTT and TV benefits vary by tier | Catalogue availability applies |
| ₹1,199 | Up to 100 Mbps | Broadband with TV | Catalogue availability applies |
| ₹1,599 | Up to 300 Mbps | Broadband with TV | Catalogue availability applies |
| ₹3,999 | Up to 1 Gbps | Broadband with TV | Catalogue availability applies |
The ₹599 and ₹699 options are explicitly limited to select geographies. Before ordering, enter your address in Airtel’s current availability flow and read the benefits shown for that exact address; a plan name alone does not establish that every OTT service or TV channel bundle is included.

Which plan should you choose?
Choose by speed first
Use the advertised speed as your first filter. The 40 Mbps options are the entry point in the listed catalogue. The 100 Mbps group gives you more headroom for several simultaneous users, while the 300 Mbps and 1 Gbps tiers target homes that regularly move large files or have many active devices. These are planning guidelines based on the speed tiers, not a promise of a particular Wi-Fi result in every room.
Choose TV only when you will use the bundle
The ₹899, ₹1,199, ₹1,599 and ₹3,999 entries are labelled with TV. If you do not need Airtel’s television service, compare a standalone broadband tier at the same advertised speed instead of paying for a bundle you will not use. Confirm the exact OTT list at checkout because Airtel says inclusions vary by plan.
Check the payment model before comparing totals
A monthly rental is not the same commitment as advance-rental tenure. Advance-rental offers can change how installation is charged and can make the payment non-refundable if you cancel before the agreed period. Read the tenure and cancellation language before choosing a lower effective monthly figure.
Installation cost and activation time
How long activation takes
Airtel’s broadband FAQ states that a new broadband connection is activated within 48 hours. The clock can still depend on address feasibility, appointment access and installation work at your premises, so keep your phone available for the technician and verify that the registered contact number is correct.

What the ₹1,500 payment means
For a new broadband connection, Airtel describes a ₹1,500 advance for hardware and installation. That advance is adjusted against subsequent monthly bills rather than being an additional recurring rental. Airtel separately states that monthly prepaid plans require ₹1,500 for installation and hardware.
The terms for monthly plans add a different condition: the ₹1,500 installation fee is waived when you select a three-, six- or 12-month advance-rental subscription. In other words, an advance that is credited against bills should not be confused with a fee waiver tied to paying for a specified tenure upfront. Ask which treatment applies to your order summary before making payment.
Installation checklist
- Confirm the final monthly rental, GST and whether the order is monthly or advance-rental.
- Check whether the ₹1,500 appears as an adjustable advance or is waived under a three-, six- or 12-month tenure.
- Keep an adult available at the address during the installation window.
- Test wired and Wi-Fi connectivity before the technician leaves, and record the equipment supplied.
Is Airtel Fiber really unlimited?
Airtel markets its broadband plans as unlimited, but the current Xstream Fiber terms include a Fair Usage Policy. As of 20 October 2026, the stated threshold is 3,333 GB in one billing cycle. After that consumption, Airtel says the connection speed may be reduced to up to 2 Mbps.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe threshold is measured per billing cycle, not as a permanent lifetime allowance. Airtel also reserves the ability to amend the Fair Usage Policy, so check the live terms attached to your plan when you order and whenever your usage is unusually high. A household that routinely backs up large datasets, hosts media or downloads games for several users should treat “unlimited” as subject to this fair-use condition rather than as unrestricted capacity.

How to view, upgrade or downgrade your plan
Find your current plan in the Airtel App
- Open the Airtel App and sign in with the account that owns the broadband connection.
- Open Services.
- Select Broadband to view the active plan and its service details.
Request a plan change
Airtel says plan changes after payment can be requested in the app. If the app does not show the desired option, call 121 or 198 from the registered mobile number. Save the confirmation or reference number and check the next bill to ensure the new rental and bundle were applied.
Before confirming a downgrade, compare the advertised speed, TV or OTT benefits, installation or tenure conditions and any equipment obligations. A cheaper rental can change the services attached to the account, not just the speed.
What happens when you remove TV or broadband?
- Removing IPTV leaves broadband running as a standalone plan at the applicable standalone rate.
- Removing broadband stops the IPTV service from functioning.
Because the two services are technically linked, ask support to state the effective date and resulting rental for the exact change you request.

Important Broadband + TV billing rule
For Broadband + TV connections, Airtel states that from 7 August 2025 the full Broadband + TV rental plus tax is charged even when IPTV has not yet been installed. In that situation, Airtel says you receive broadband and OTT services but not TV channels.

This matters when installation is delayed or when a technician has activated the broadband portion first. Review the order and the first invoice rather than assuming the rental will be reduced automatically. If television channels are essential, ask Airtel to record the IPTV installation status and the date on which channel service should begin.

Router and IPTV box ownership
Airtel’s FAQ says the broadband router and IPTV box remain Airtel property. When you request permanent disconnection, Airtel arranges retrieval of those devices. Do not sell, discard or move them to a different address without written instructions from Airtel.
Advance-rental payments
Airtel’s terms state that prepaid advance-rental payments are not refunded when a customer cancels before the agreed tenure. This is separate from the treatment of a monthly ₹1,500 installation advance that is adjusted against bills. The payment type and the tenure you accepted determine the financial outcome.
Closure checklist
- Ask Airtel for the effective disconnection date and the final bill.
- Clear any outstanding rental, usage charge or tax shown on that bill.
- Confirm the pickup method, appointment window and list of devices to be returned.
- Ask whether a promotional clawback or other tenure charge applies to your account.
- Keep the pickup receipt, photographs of returned equipment and the closure reference until the account shows no balance.
If you are moving rather than ending service, ask whether a transfer or new installation at the destination is available before submitting a permanent-disconnection request.

Extending Wi-Fi with Airtel Xstream Fiber Plus
Airtel describes Xstream Fiber Plus as a two-device package intended to extend Wi-Fi coverage around the home. Airtel gives an installation turnaround time of up to 48 hours for this accessory.
The terms attach return conditions to the equipment. If you terminate the subscription before two years or downgrade within one year, Airtel requires the supplied devices to be returned. Keep those conditions with your broadband paperwork so an upgrade or cancellation does not leave equipment unaccounted for.
A generic Wi-Fi mesh extender sold for home networks may appear in searches, but Airtel’s published information does not guarantee compatibility with every third-party device. Check the exact router model, supported pairing method and whether Airtel will support the setup before buying an accessory. A device that works with another internet provider may not integrate with Airtel’s supplied router.

Quick Recap
Questions to settle before ordering
- Is the advertised price final? No. The catalogue prices exclude GST, and bundled benefits depend on the selected tier and location.
- Does a 48-hour activation promise remove all delay risk? No. It is Airtel’s stated activation target for a new connection; address feasibility and appointment access still affect the installation process.
- Will changing plans cancel TV automatically? Not necessarily. Removing IPTV leaves broadband active, while removing broadband makes IPTV unusable; confirm the exact service change with Airtel.
- Can I keep the router after cancellation? Airtel says the router and IPTV box remain its property and are retrieved after permanent disconnection.
- Can I get my advance-rental money back if I leave early? Airtel’s terms say prepaid advance-rental payments are not refunded before the agreed tenure.
