The feature was originally expected in a December 2025 preview, but that schedule slipped. In March 2026, Microsoft said it was still refining the experience and expected to show it to Windows Insiders in the coming months. The sources available for this article do not confirm whether it had shipped by September 27, 2026.
What the Windows 11 agenda view is supposed to be
The agenda view is a planned addition to the calendar flyout opened from the Windows 11 taskbar. It is not a separate product or hardware feature. Microsoft described it as a chronological, quick-glance list of upcoming events inside Notification Center, integrated with Calendar.
That would address a major difference from Windows 10. The Windows 11 flyout could be used to check dates and move between days or months, but the reported pre-agenda design did not show or add upcoming events in the same compact panel.
What users may be able to do
See events for a selected day
The announced design is intended to show the events associated with the day selected in the taskbar calendar, rather than requiring users to open a full calendar application just to check their schedule.

Interact with listed events
Microsoft’s description included direct interaction with events, such as joining a scheduled meeting. Its announcement, as reproduced by Windows Central, also mentioned engaging with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Add events from the flyout
Windows Central’s overview of the planned feature reported that users would be able to add events from this area. That is a reported plan, not a confirmed specification of a released build.

Connect with Outlook for Windows
Windows Central reported that the agenda would connect to the Outlook app on Windows 11. In that account, signing in to Outlook would allow its calendar events to sync into the taskbar view, with links from events to associated meetings or calls. Microsoft has not, in the evidence available here, published confirmed eligibility rules for accounts, editions, regions, or Insider channels.
How the planned experience differs from the current-style flyout
| Capability | Windows 11 calendar flyout before the planned change | Announced agenda view |
|---|---|---|
| Check a date | Yes; users could browse days and months. | Yes, with the selected day serving as the context for events. |
| See upcoming events in the flyout | Not available in the reported earlier design. | Planned as a chronological list. |
| Add an event there | Not available in the reported earlier design. | Reported as planned, but not verified as shipped. |
| Join a meeting directly | Not available as part of that date-checking experience. | Given by Microsoft as an example of direct event interaction. |
| Outlook synchronization | Not established for the earlier flyout. | Reported by Windows Central as part of the planned Outlook integration. |

| Date | What was reported |
|---|---|
| November 19, 2025 | Windows Central reported Microsoft’s announcement of the agenda view and an expected preview the following month. |
| December 2025 | The original target for an Insider preview; the feature did not appear on that schedule. |
| March 9, 2026 | Microsoft said it was still refining the experience and expected to preview it to Windows Insiders in the “coming months,” without giving a replacement date. |
| September 27, 2026 | The available sources do not verify whether the feature had shipped by this date. |
Microsoft told Windows Central: “We’re actively refining the foundational aspects of the experience to ensure it meets our quality standards before it reaches customers.” That statement explains the delay but does not identify a particular Windows update, channel, region, or release window.
What remains unconfirmed
- Whether the agenda view is available in a current Windows 11 build.
- Which Windows edition, account type, geography, or Insider channel will receive it first.
- Whether every announced interaction, including adding events and joining meetings, will be present at launch.
- When general availability will begin.
Online discussion has speculated about technical causes for the delay, including WebView-related concerns, but the March report did not establish those as Microsoft’s reason. It is therefore safer to treat the quality-refinement explanation as the confirmed status.

What this means for Windows 11 users
If Microsoft delivers the described design, the taskbar calendar would become a useful schedule checkpoint instead of mainly a date navigator. Users could glance at the day, identify the next appointment, and potentially enter a meeting or create an event from the same compact interface. Until Microsoft documents the feature in a current Insider build or release note, those capabilities should be treated as planned rather than available.
Anyone who depends on the taskbar for time-sensitive meetings should continue using a calendar application they already know is synchronized and functional. Check current Windows Insider announcements and Microsoft release notes before changing a workflow around the agenda view.
