HotHardware reported in September 2025 that ZOTAC was developing a ZONE Pro handheld with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and Manjaro Linux. Those details have not been confirmed here by a current official ZOTAC product page, so the ZONE Pro should be treated as a reported device—not a verified retail product with settled specifications, price, or availability.
What are the reported ZOTAC ZONE Pro specs?
HotHardware’s September 1, 2025 report described the ZONE Pro as a Linux-based gaming handheld with these features:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, reported as having four Zen 5 CPU cores and eight Zen 5C CPU cores.
- Graphics: 16 RDNA 3.5 compute units, according to the report.
- Display: 7-inch OLED screen.
- Memory: 32 GB.
- Operating system: Manjaro Linux.
- Design detail: An integrated kickstand.
These are reported specifications, not a final ZOTAC spec sheet. The report does not establish the device’s storage configuration, battery capacity, price, release date, or current regional availability. Read HotHardware’s report.
What does the reported performance claim mean?
HotHardware attributed to Zotac a claim that the ZONE Pro would deliver a 15–20% performance improvement over the previous-generation ZONE. The article does not provide an independent benchmark supporting that figure, nor does the available information specify the game, power limit, or test conditions. It is therefore a company claim relayed by the outlet, not a verified performance result.

For a meaningful comparison, reviewers would need to test both devices under comparable power settings and workloads. A processor name or core count alone cannot establish gaming frame rates, battery life, heat, or fan noise.
How does the ZONE Pro compare with the ROG Xbox Ally?
“ROG Xbox Ally” refers to different products and model years. The 2025 ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X are not the same device as ASUS’s separately listed 2026 ROG Xbox Ally X20. Keep those models distinct when comparing specifications or software.

Linux versus the Xbox handheld experience
What Manjaro Linux could mean for the ZONE Pro
If the reported Manjaro configuration reaches retail, it would distinguish the ZONE Pro from a handheld positioned around the Xbox experience. Linux can offer a desktop-oriented environment and access to compatible PC gaming software, but the report does not establish which storefronts, games, launchers, or anti-cheat systems would work on the ZONE Pro. Compatibility should be checked game by game rather than inferred from the operating system name.

What Xbox Wire says about the ROG Xbox Ally experience
Xbox Wire described an aggregated library intended to provide access to Xbox games, Game Pass where available, and installed games from Battle.net and other leading PC stores. That is an official description of the software experience, not a guarantee that every title works identically on every Ally model or configuration. See Xbox Wire’s 2025 pre-order announcement and Microsoft’s Xbox Handheld Gaming Developer Resource Hub.
