What is confirmed about Witchbrook’s PS5 and PC versions?
Both platforms are confirmed for the scheduled day-one release. Chucklefish identifies Steam as the PC storefront in its fact sheet; PS5 is also included in the publisher’s announcement. The announced date is January 28, 2027, which is still in the future as of October 30, 2026.
The announcement’s exact wording is: “We’re incredibly excited to announce that Witchbrook will be launching on January 28th, 2027 across PC & consoles.” That sentence establishes timing and broad platform availability, not a shared-save system. Does Steam Cloud mean Witchbrook saves work on PS5?
No. The Steam listing shows Steam Cloud, but that feature is not confirmation of PlayStation compatibility. Valve describes Steam Cloud as making saved games accessible on computers through Steam; Witchbrook’s listing does not say that its cloud saves connect to PS5.
In practical terms, Steam Cloud can help a player use a Steam save on another computer signed in to the same Steam account, subject to the game’s implementation and Steam’s synchronization behavior. That is a PC-to-PC scenario. It does not by itself create a bridge to a PlayStation save directory, a PlayStation Network account, or a PS5 installation.
Steamworks documentation about synchronizing saves across computer operating systems should not be read as a Witchbrook console announcement. Synchronization among computers using Steam and transfer between Steam and a PlayStation version are different capabilities, and only the former is indicated by the listing. Is Witchbrook cross-play because it has online co-op?
That is also unconfirmed. Chucklefish advertises online co-op for up to four players, but the player-count detail does not say whether PS5 players can join PC players in the same session.

Cross-play and cross-save solve different problems: cross-play concerns playing together across platforms, while cross-save concerns using progress on another platform. PlayStation’s listing says PS Plus is required for online play. How much will Witchbrook cost, and does price affect cross-save?
Chucklefish has announced a $24.99 digital launch price. It says additional regional prices will be shared closer to launch, so that figure should not be treated as the final price in every country or as the price of a physical edition.
Price does not tell you whether cross-save exists. Even if the PS5 and Steam versions cost the same, the cited listings do not establish a shared entitlement or a second-platform copy. Conversely, a later cross-save announcement would not necessarily mean a single purchase includes both versions. Confirm the store, currency, edition, and entitlement wording at checkout.
Chucklefish has also announced future physical Standard and Collector’s Editions expected sometime after the initial digital release. The October 27 announcement defers further information about physical-edition platforms and special editions. No PS5 physical release, retailer listing, collector contents, or physical-edition price is established here.
